Visited yesterday, 17/4/23, after winning a free 3 course meal for 4 people for leaving a review on TripAdvisor. The food was excellent 👌 staff were really friendly with great service. It is a beautiful restaurant well worth a visit 👌

Turned up tonight in a party of 3 at 21:50. Restaurant totally empty ( surprise for a Saturday evening especially as advertised closing was 23:00). We were greeted with a less than warm and enthusiastic welcome and immediately informed of the restaurant closing time. What appeared to be senior staff ‘hovered’ in the background almost trying to visually harass us during ordering and eating. This made the whole experience intimidating and unenjoyable. Bearing in mind the restaurant was empty other than us this was quite an uncomfortable experience. We ordered separate curries from the menu but were convinced that each contained the same or very similar sauces. Albeit the food was generally good, we just wanted to quickly complete our meal, leave a minimal tip and leave promptly. In all as above we arrived at 21:50 but had left within an hour due to the intimidation we received. The apparent senior staff were just interested in completing their shift! If they are indeed owners, it is indeed a very poor experience for customers and doesn’t bode well for the business with no doubt difficult trading times ahead. The approach to customer value may reflect the total lack of actual customers at what should be a busy a weekend evening and against what historically was a place of good food and experience. Last visit and will share with family and friends to similarly avoid.

We have recently move to the area and so are unfamiliar with decent places to order from. However after ordering with here tonight, it's one place we will avoid in future. We ordered a chicken tikka masala, nothing too special yet there was absolutely zero flavour and I've never had such a watered down curry. There was so much water, we had to soak it up with napkins, which explains the lack of taste. Pretty poor to be honest.

Ate here recently on a Friday evening for the first time since COVID. Having seen a few negative reviews ( mostly concerning takeaways ) we weren't sure if standards had slipped, and the restaurant was quiet, which was unusual. However the food was excellent ( special mention for the Sylheti Chicken ) and the service was still good, so we needn't have worried. I

The food is generally more expensive compared to other Indian restaurants but found food to be high quality. I had a meal this evening with a family of three as part of the eat out to help out. We ordered food a main meal as well as food to share, however when the bill arrived, they hadn’t provided the full 50% discount as we had shared some food. I’d been to a number of restaurants and never experienced this issue, therefore was a little disappointed.

Fantastic venue. Building is a real gem. Excellent food and service. Couldn’t fault it. Chicken tikka madras was so beautifully tasty with a perfect amount of heat. You will not be disappointed.

The Cottage restaurant provided a delightful Sunday buffet experience at £15 per person. The value for money makes it a worthwhile choice for those seeking a satisfying and affordable treat.

Love the decor. Renovated old cottage. You'd love the couches. Very lay back staff. Serving you with a smile and a laughter. Food is delicious. Well recommended

We had Sunday buffet in early evening, unfortunately that was a bad decision. All food must have been out hours. Wont go through specific dishes but in general greasy and not fresh. The place would do with a good clean, dirty table legs, no replacement plates or condiments. The only really good thing which makes me feel awful for low rate review is attentive and smily staff- cannot fault that. We saw a few people who did not seem to mind any faults I pointed out.

The order took over an hour and 40 minutes to arrive not apologies or anything. Rang them up as they got a dish wrong and he started shouting and been abrupt?? Again no apology or replacement shocking wont be ordering again and advise anyone reading this to find a better place.

We visited today 28/05/23 for the Sunday buffet. I never leave reviews, but the service and food was that great I simply had to. The variety of food was great, it was all fresh and piping hot. The staff are all laidback and don’t pester you at all. We got talking to the owner and after finding out we’d travelled from Liverpool he gave us a £10 voucher off our next visit, lovely family business that’s been going for 20+ years. We’ll definitely be returning soon.

Incredible that it takes nearly two hours to get food on the table. No apology, just the excuse that they’re busy when only about 5 tables had anyone sat at them and no takeaway bags were coming out. Only two people seemed to speak English and the table that arrived before us never got their food before leaving altogether. Our food was overdone so had clearly been rushed, probably only because we asked where it was after 1.5 hours. Absolute clown show run by a manager who couldn’t care less.

This was our 2nd visit to the cottage and food was and is just as good if not better when we 1st visited. Very relaxed staff, which for me I like, very attentive when needed for drinks and food. My daughter wants to visit again. For me if a child enjoys there meal in a restaurant it's a good sign they are doing something great. She enjoyed her curry. So we will be back again. Money well spent

First time back since the first lockdown and apparent new owners. Service poor to say the least - the 2 guys serving barely cracked a smile and couldn't have been less interested in our guests. Totally forgot to bring a bar order and request for a jug of water for the table resulted in 2 pint pots of iced water. What used to be the best Indian in Warrington is now probably the worst. We won't be returning! A discounted Sunday menu on the website wasn't even offered! Food however was passable despite the lacklustre service.

Brilliant experience. Came for the Sunday all you can eat buffet. The food was absolutely beautiful. Really good quality food that was fresh, infact it was noticeable the effort that the staff went to in keeping a constant supply of fresh food and going above and beyond for the customers. The restaurant itself it lovely. Will definitely go again!

Best onion bhajis every time. We went for the Sunday buffet but have had takeaway before where the paneer pakora is the ultimate side order. 5stars, would give 10 if I could :)
