Warrnambool Botanical Gardens is a beautiful place to have a walk, picnic, enjoy the nature, or all of the above. It'd be great for families with kids. Before heading there, I imagined it to be bigger than it was. You can walk in and around the paths in about 30 minutes. But if you stop to, "smell the roses", so to speak, you could enjoy a good few hours here for sure. Parking is aplenty nearby also. Some of the trees here have some huge girths. Very Thanos-like! There is even a secret (maybe not so secret) rainforest area with ferns. It was quite a surprise to see a few Seagulls acting like ducks in order to get food too!

I can’t believe this place is real. So beautiful, so peaceful and very well maintained. I’ve never actually used the word ‘tranquil’ before but it’s the only word that describes this place. Nice picnic areas and benches and very clean restrooms. There are fish, ducks and we even saw a little turtle in the pond, and the trees have plaques explaining their origin and purpose.

Beautiful botanic gardens that are well worth doing a circuit of. Cute little stone bridge and plenty of ducks and bats.

Beautiful space that’s perfect for a short stroll. For locals it would be a tranquil spot for a picnic, some reading in the shade or meditation. Appreciate the foresight and history of someone in 1866 creating this garden. Well done to those who maintain this for all to enjoy.

Its a great place to enjoy your hot days. The mini lake/river with the bridge is so cute. There are also a lot of bats in approx 3 trees so be careful!

Nice walk around the park, beautiful species of plants and lots of birds. Very well kept and maintained. It was a nice spot to stop and reflect after a long drive from Melbourne.

Wow that's a lot of bats. Bats aside (though they're kind of cool to watch), these gardens are worth wandering around. They're small to medium size, but beautifully maintained, with lots of spots for picnics or gatherings. There are amenities, a few pretty floral sections a couple of interesting play areas and there's a very nice water feature on one side. The parking available in the bordering streets isn't bad either.

This is a small garden, very well laid out and maintained, with large, significant trees and sweeping lawns. The path winds past a fountain, historic well, sundial, fernery, rotunda and lake with a bridge. For us, the large, noisey bat colony was particularly fascinating. There is a nature based play space for kids. Public toilets are also available in the fenced garden area. Well worth a visit.

Gorgeous local botanic gardens that are teeming with native wildlife. Amazing array of both indigenous and non-indigenous plants to enjoy. A great place to sit and read a book, have a picnic with the family or just take a leisurely stroll on a fine day. Also home to many flying foxes who rest in the trees during the day which makes for an awesome sight.

Beautifully kept gardens and lawns with plenty of shade to enjoy a picnic. A nice play natural play zone for the kids aswell. Only flaw was no signs for the toilets which were in the opposite direction of where we entered so took a fair walk to find. Great spot

Lovely quiet, scenic place away from all the concrete, parking meters, noise and roundabouts down the main street. This is a great place to stop and appreciate nature.

Pretty manicured gardens just a short walk outside the town. Beautiful pond with fish. Best time Spring flowers! Bats are a bit scary haha. Small garden so doesn’t take long to look around but worth a look.

This is a lovely place to have a small picnic, there are lots of ducks and beautiful fauna in the area. We stopped here to have lunch and relax after a long drive to Warrnambool from Melbourne.

If you enter via the SW corner you might think that this is a bit ordinary. But persist and you will be rewarded, especially at the NE sector at the bottom where the pond and bridge are. This is one of the few places left where a sign on the entry gate says that you can feed the ducks! Also have a good look at the plant varieties and textures - a great place for floral photos.

Been to Warrnambool many times but never to the gardens. Really well maintained and a very interesting variety of plants. Quite old too. This would be a real oasis on a hot day.

Beautiful park with ponds, huge native trees like Morton bay figs, a fern garden, old relics and bbq facilities. There is also places for kids to play and some water activities. Since removing the outer trees, the park ks much sunnier but there is still lots of shade. Ideal for kids who enjoy nature - birds, insects, turtles, fish etc
