It was my first time going here and it was nice experience. They do not let you in early so I would not get there too early because you’ll need to wait for designated time slot. They provide an overview prior to going into the room with a video. It was a visual cool experience with sounds, video and lighting. I think we spent about 20 minutes in the main room and then probably 20 in the other two rooms. It’s a solid 45 minute experience if you are not drinking at the bar. Yes, they have a bar inside the main room. Also, they do have a coat room for guests as well. It’s educational and fun. It’s pricey about $25 dollars with taxes on the weekend but it was worth it. Staff was helpful with explaining the various exhibits to the guests. The mens bathroom was plainly nasty. Yeah, I would try to avoid it if you can. Overall, I would recommend this place for an interactive art experience!

For the price, this place is really small. You have to travel downstairs to get to the art deco and upstairs to leave out and those areas could really be used on the way in and out with art features but it isn't. It's a bare stairwell. The very first room is very large and it's display is constantly moving so if you get dizzy with movement it may not be for you. It had really pretty flowers with vibrant colors. I was really interesting to see as you feel like you're really there with the flowers. I really enjoyed it. There are 4 other very small rooms and then you're done. I think more should be added.

Overall the concept, art style, connection to NASA are very cool features that make this exhibit worthy of checking out. My complaints are on par with many others here: the entire experience is about 25 minutes. The secondary exhibits were a bit of a letdown compared to the main. The biggest problem I had was the proximity of the bar to the main exhibit room. The experience is lessened when I can hear bar chatter and people mixing drinks

What an awesome experience! We went there for their Christmas show. We had so much fun doing mini puzzles and were treated once we completed them at the end with a free spin of the wheel and price. The show was absolutely awesome for the entire family. Definitely recommend checking out any show they have. Don't want to foil the show so I didn't post a video for you but trust me that you got to check it out!

Need to take some last holiday photos and get a visual/auditory experience, come here. They have phenomenal backdrops and the "main room" has videos on a loop that also makde for a great backdrop. There is an interactive aspect, you download the app and collect the ornaments that are seen while walking the exhibit. This is a small, more intimate exhibit so don't come here expecting to have your day filled. The entire show is maybe 20 minutes (being generous) and then walking another 15. We stayed in the main room watching the show and taking pics for a while. Well worth the cost. I posted some video and pics but not everything, don't wanna ruin the experience. DISCLAIMER: The images/video contain flashes of light and moving objects

I went with my friends after having had great experiences at the NY location. This installation by Quayola was beautiful and entrancing. It was so interesting to see how the coding connected to the musical instruments manipulated and altered the colors and projections. There was a really nice walk through on the side that gave more detail to the exhibit and a bar with drinks centered around the design and theme of the installation. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to see what other installation arrive this year.

It was a fun 20-30 minutes....but I feel it was a bit too expensive. The large room was fine, but that was it. The app kept crashing on me. Also, the AR stuff was placed right by the exit door, so it wasn't a great experience. Honestly, everything felt cramped and not very immersive or educational.

My second time visiting Artechouse, and both were pretty disappointing. I don’t think the experience justify the ticket price. The first disappointment is that though the marketing for their “Beyond the Light” is around the photos taken by NASA’s space telescope, almost 2/3 of the show is on something else, like some digital signals that are flying around. The promotion is creating a pretty different expectation from what it actually is. The second disappointment is the lack of attention to details. The transitions between space photos feel a bit random, and theres definitely room for improvement about the music. Also, it’s a very tiny hall that sort of constrained the experience. But I do want to give them an applause to pull up interactive exhibition to help people explore global warming and climate challenges. It’s a lot of fun while being educational.

This is one of the wildest art exhibits I’ve been to and I mean that in the best way. A total sensory experience. The visuals are so vibrant and the music creates an amazing ambiance, all of it built on a foundation of neurology and science. You could spend hours enjoying the show. It was fairly busy on a Saturday night but still plenty of room to make it feel like you had your own space.

Right off the L'enflant plaza metro stop, couple minutes away from the Spy Meuseam . There's a bar , apparel for sale , and the staff is incredibly friendly. There's over 12 different amazing visual experiences.

Bought a student ticket for $25+taxes. Worth the experience. Saw the 'Beyond the Light" NASA exhibit. Very artistic, makes you wonder about the future of science and emphasize for the Earth. Recommended 👍🏼 Although the size of the hall is smaller than I imagined. Some of the interactive arts weren't really interactive, joysticks were missing, and descriptions didn't really help. If I hadn't been a space nerd I might have given this lesser stars.

I purchased the tickets because I was tickled when I saw the ad for New Year's day 6p.m. The wait was 3 minutes tops to enter and check in was easy. All the employees were very courteous. The imaging was beautiful. I'm a big kid at Christmas so this touched my husband's and my hearts. The bar was small but nice and clean. The bartender asked us this was a date night and we received rose'. 🥂 The drinks were well made and cute. They were not stingy with the alcohol. My only disappointment was it was too short, but that will not stop me from returning for future exhibits.

The art was absolutely incredible, check-in was seamless, and the bartenders were lovely. We (my husband and I) went on Saturday, February 4, 2023 and had tickets for 8:30 pm. Starting at around 9:30, one of the front desk staff kept coming up to us saying the gallery was closed even though we had 30 minutes to closing. By 9:50, this same individual started coming up every 1-2 minutes. Finally, around 9:59 pm, my husband tried to gently explain that I was still finishing my cocktail but she came back about 60 seconds later to tell us the gallery was closed. I was doing my best to finish my cocktail and by 10 pm, she stood right next to me as I continued to sip on my drink. We exited the main gallery space and went to put on our jackets at 10:02. The same employee kept telling us the gallery was closed and we were practically sprinting up the stairs to get out. I feel so bad to leave a low review but this one staff member put a damper on what was truly a very fun night. I certainly do not want to keep people past close and I was trying to finish my cocktail quickly without a chugging it down. To me, this indicates that ARTECHOUSE isn’t paying their employees well and certainly not enough to keep them there 30-40 minutes past close to allow guests to calmly exit. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll go back. It was too expensive for the experience to end that way and I worry that staff aren’t being properly paid for that level of pushing people out the door. I don’t think I’ve ever been forced out of a place like that before and it’s a shame, because ARTECHOUSE is truly a special place.

I went there last night with a friend, and we had a good time. I appreciate all the hard work the artist put into create these amazing pictures. These artists deserve a 5 stars. It might have been my high expectations influenced by the ads. The staff were doing their work, but they seemed in a rush all the time, I understand they are humans. There were a few small rooms to walk around, and then there was the main room which was really cool. The place was small, it says it’s House, so it makes sense. You can check everything and take pictures in 15-20 minutes. The price was alright, not expensive but not cheap.

I enjoyed the Artechouse DC. I had no idea I was going until my sister decided to grab tickets.I like that art has elevated and is existing with the modern day tech world. Lets be honest, this is cool, but the original creative art will never go away. Great concept.

I visited during the PixelBloom / Cherry Blossom exhibit and initially thought.. not a fan of those 2 things. However, the concept and what Artechouse does made those thoughts an afterthought..quickly. The combo of art and tech is amazing. Gorgeous displays of color and movement with a hint of interactive pieces was really cool. I could sit for hours in the large room just relaxing and being immersed. Definitely hope to visit more locations and exhibits in the future. Highly recommend.

Worth the trip, and I'll be back for next month's exhibit. Each room's unique art combined visual and audio elements that responded to physical gestures. It was a highly interactive and immersive experience with soothing music throughout the exhibit.

Went to the Pixelbloom installment April 2022. This art installation is incredibly cool! It’s all a 3-D feeling and the colors change at different times, see pictures. It’s such an interesting way to showcase art in a digital form! What’s also really cool is that the artists change every few months so you’ll always get a new experience. Highly recommend if you are a local or a tourist in DC! It’s located right near the Smithsonian, so easy to get to if you’re downtown for a day full of monuments. Parking garage attached as well.

I’ve enjoyed all three of my visits. I expected my family to be bored but they all (M51, M19, F15) enjoyed Beyond the Light quite a bit! This was the first time anyone explained how things worked in the side rooms. That was very helpful. Everyone is very friendly and the graphics are cool!

Artechouse is a really cool concept of live art, there's a big main room where a big show runs about 20-30mins. Then there are smaller rooms in between the main room with smaller interactive art. I was a little disappointed to see how small it was honestly. Luckily it wasn't crowded for a weekend afternoon especially during their NASA exhibit and on eclipse weekend. They do time entries with people so it doesn't get too crowded, I only spent around 45 minutes there. Personally, I don't think I'll go back unless there's a specific new exhibit I'm excited about!

I recently visited ARTECHOUSE in DC, and while the main room was undeniably cool, I couldn't help but feel that the other areas didn't live up to the ticket prices. However, I appreciate the unique experience it offered, which was a refreshing change. Overall, it was a novel experience for me, but I was expecting a bit more from it.

Kinda disappointed. I’m here now, and it’s cool but VERY small. If you looked up the event on IG / saw their advertisements… most came from their other venues - not the DC location. So manage your expectations. The picture I shared is basically the entire exhibit. Not really worth $60, maybe $40 and I wouldn’t have complained ha

We had such a phenomenal time at the Butterfly exhibit. Our sons age 7/11 love the interactive part of it as well. We did to. It was fun for us all to participate and learn! Definitely must see! Take the kids!

We've been to a couple of the Artechouse exhibits, and as impressed as we were with the first one, each new one gets better and better. This butterflies exhibit is a feast for the eyes. Absolutely beautiful, and there's no way pictures can possibly do it justice. You've got to see it for yourself.

I can't tell you how much I loved this place, I almost wish it was bigger with more huge rooms and longer. I didn't want to leave but it got crowded around 12 on a Saturday. The bar filled up fast. The bartender suggested a mocktail that was SO good. It almost has a zen club feel to it without the overcrowding and dance music. It's so relaxing, the staff are friendly and fun. Very good energy and vibes. I want to come back for sure, I tried to get the free spaces in the roundabout but asked and couldn't park in front of the apartment building so I found the parking garage right outside. It's $12 for 1 hour or less, it was $15 because I stayed a little over an hour.

This is for the Transient exhibit. They say it will take 45 - 60 mins for the exhibit but more likely it is an 30 minute experience. I assume the exhibit is scaled down due to the pandemic as I recall it being more richer or more exhibits in prior to pandemic times. If you like modern art this exhibit may appeal to you as you experience what machines can do with transient art and music. You get to see some of the code for the music as the screens constantly change. I would of liked more descriptions throughout the exhibit on the artistic and tech process for this exhibit. The art was in digital strokes and points on different size “canvas” screens. Good photo opps. One main area with a piano and ceiling through floor “canvas” followed by a smaller adjacent room and two small adjacent rooms and a hallway. Also it would be amazing to have an interactive component to this as human feedback interacting with the code can generate fresh art and music.

Smaller than I thought, but very pretty and interesting/ exciting installations. 5 stars for the artists work. They ran out of drinks/mixers 😩 tho was included in the date ticket. Enjoyed the showing still, don't think I was in there more than a hour TOPS. Would go earlier in the day to avoid drink issues 🤷🏾‍♀️. Parked in lot, quick walk, think was $15.

Artechhouse was such a interesting place to visit. The digital displays grab your attention and you cant look away, Id even say its mesmerizing. There was 3 rooms with displays, with some interactive things to try. Very interesting show to watch the life of a neuron.

This was my second time coming here and both times it was a great experience. I was impressed with the quality of the digital art and the interactive art displays. The main roow was just awesome with blossoms. The first time we went we could make trees grow with raising our arms it was very interactive and fun. The digital art was very high definition. The side rooms was fun to watch and each interactive piece was tons of fun. Lots of people taking videos of the blooming flowers. I would highly recommend it. Wish we could have kept the cardboard pieces on the drinks but oh well.

Our daughter gifted us with tickets. I wasn’t sure what to expect. After waiting for our allotted time and walking 2 floors into a basement, we were introduced to the exhibit by a worker. As I walked through the doors, the overloud sound instantly overwhelmed me, and I saw a bar hawking futuristic drinks. While initially awed by the colors in the space, the visual stimuli left me feeling dizzy. Also, the idea of sitting on the floor was not appealing. In other installations I’ve visited, there were seating options for those not able to get to the floor. Moving on from the main room, I was underwhelmed. The space was tight and staff stood by playing on their phones while visitors were clearly confused as to how the displays work. I really wanted to like it, but it didn’t live up to the price of the tickets.

Great experience. A surreal experience. We attended the NASA sponsored exhibit. We Loved the interactive exhibits that gave an health report of the planet earth. If you are Techno-art geek, I highly recommend this exhibit. If you are not, live a little and try it anyway.

Absolutely outstanding! My 9 year old really loved it. He’s got a project due on the telescope and we had a chance to go to DC so we made a visit. Truly inspirational! The staff was polite, helpful and informative.

  • 4/5 Viki G. 6 months ago on Google
Enjoyed it as an artistic experience using images from nasa telescopes, but didn't gain much insight about the cosmos as I hoped. But it was a groovy fun time worth the price of admission, if only for one time. We skipped the drinks. We sat on the floor for about 20 minutes through a full cycle of the big projection and spent another 20 minutes on the other content. Kids see saw there were having a great time. We are 60 and the only old folk there, but it is fun for all ages. I would say anyone with balance issues should find a different activity. The projection includes the floor which is fun. The floor is lava.

This was a great experience! Got to see the Timeless Butterflies event, which was very interactive and visually impressive. Another plus is that some of the exhibits are puzzles, but even if you were there to "flail around" and interact for your own enjoyment it was great. Would definitely recommend!

Just visited the newest Beyond the Light exhibit in partnership with NASA, and it's amazing. I love how this space fuses art and technology to make uniquely immersive and interactive exhibits. The XR cocktails are always delicious and it's always breathtaking when walking in the space. For context, I've visited the cherry blossom exhibit, Christmas/Nutcracker exhibit twice, and every time I love it so much.

I brought my boyfriend here for the Beyond the Light Exhibit in collaboration with NASA. It was pretty cool! It was a little expensive for the small area, so I can only hope some of the ticket sales go towards the research NASA does. It was a great photo opportunity and the space-inspired drink we tried called Stardust was pretty strong.

We went on a Sunday at 1030a so there was an empty parking garage and only 2 people in the exhibit before us. I enjoyed the experience but don't have to go to something like this again. The exhibit was really nice and you were immediately immersed in the art. They do have a bar but it opens at 4p. So if you don't drink or go when the bar is closed its about a 45 minute experience with no people.

  • 5/5 Kia G. 1 year ago on Google
The exhibit was phenomenal! Interactive pieces, bold colors, and powerful messages. Not terribly crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Purchase tickets in advance for timed entry. Once everyone in your timeslot arrives, you are guided to the entrance and given an introduction and a little background on the exhibit. Picture and video friendly. Merchandise severely overpriced

Artechouse was such a amazing experience to to have in a rainy day, when you are not sure what to do! it takes you out of where you are for a while. But Honestly I expected bigger place and more to show, or some different songs. It worth one time to try.

  • 1/5 Kathryn S. 4 months ago on Google • 1 review
This was extremely underwhelming for the amount of money it cost. It was very small (even extensively looking at everything, took under an hour). It wasn’t very interactive and half of the interactive present opener games with joystick were missing a joystick and thus nonfunctional. The app was not great; the animations were really choppy and didn’t seem optimized to a phone screen. The main cinematic experience was like imax…but worse and shorter. Everything in the exhibit did photograph extremely well and honestly the entire experience seemed geared toward posting on social media as opposed to novel or interesting art. I will say it might be worth it to bring kids - a lot of the younger children around me seemed to have fun.
