Lovely spot just steps away from the frenzy of Georgetown where you can get a little taste of European cafe life. I like coming here for breakfast before the crowds arrive. It gets packed! Especially if it’s a sunny day and you want to sit on the patio. The pastries are nice. Love the little tea sandwiches.

It was a great place to grab brunch, with just the right vibe, amazing pastries options, and a varied menu. Service can be a little slow but acceptable. The food was just perfect, the schnitzel was delicious and cooked just right! I righly recommend it. Drinks took a while, but they were good. Also, make sure to try a few different ones.

We had breakfast there and this is far from American. The breakfast I had was their French toast which was good, but wasn’t sweet at all. My husbands poached eggs where good however bland and the avocado toast they must like zest! It was over powering and sadly no avocado taste. They did just scrambled eggs for our gd and definitely cooked in butter, but the kid didn’t complain.

Loved Kafe Leopold! If you want a euro-experience in the heart of DC then this is the place for you. The food was delicious and the service was great. We can’t remember her name but the waitress from Estonia was very nice! I highly reccomend the schnitzel with the limonberry sauce. I wish they had free refills on the soda but the euro-portions of soda was part of the experience!

If you're looking for a wonderful place to spend a nice day, look no further than Kafe Leopold. This cozy cafe offers a variety of delicious dishes, from entrees and breakfasts to pastries and desserts. Trust me, you won't want to miss their Chocolate Temptation - it's heavenly! The staff at Kafe Leopold are warm and professional, and the service is impeccable. My wife and I had a blast there, and we can't wait to go back the next time we're in DC.

Very awful, rude service from the manger and server. We were shocked. To start our day with these type of communications were very unpleasant. It was 9:05am we wanted to sit in outside because tables were ready for serving. And the server said “at 10am serving will start in outside” when I asked the reason ? He couldn’t explain the reason. Anyways we said ok, within an hour we can change our place to outside. We sit and had our teas&desserts, at 10am we remind about our change of table, and the server said ok, I will come back. After couple mins manager came and said they can not do it because of they don’t have enough servers :) which the place was empty only 3 table (1person, 2persons, and us 2persons) was occupied in whole restaurant which one of them was ours. In whole place 5 customers, and there was 4 people who might serve or help to servers even though if this is a manager. ANYWAYS VERY UNPLEASANT AND RUDE STUFF! Regarding foods, I changed my dessert 3 times because it was old. And whatever tea selections I asked he said they don’t have it. But my spouse dessert was hard but not bad taste.

Kafe Leopold is a gem. I had breakfast multiple times and dinner once and the food is spectacular. The atmosphere and ambience are very nice, and the staff are extremely kind and welcoming. For breakfast I had the almond croissant, soft boiled eggs, and the Belgian waffle. All were excellent. For dinner I had the bratwurst and the celery sauerkraut, both excellent. For dessert I had the affogato with rum which was a tasty and delicious treat to end my meal. The somewhat hidden location on a cobblestone Georgetown side street only adds to the unique charm of this great restaurant. I can't wait to return very soon.

I ate here for breakfast. I found that I didn’t have options and ended up getting a plate with a toast, ham and eggs. The menu for breakfast was not great. I recommend the hot chocolate. It was good! Also, we got the pancake plate and it was really big. We shared it with 4 people and still had left overs for the next day.

We visited Georgetown for a work event and had reservations for lunch. The space is on the smaller side but very open, bright and decorated nicely with bright colors. When you first enter you will be mesmerised with the dessert choices on display. I know I was in for a treat. Our server was very attentive. I ordered french toast and scrambled eggs and of course a black forest cake. The eggs were soft and fluffy and not over cooked, the french toast was uniquely made stuffed with blueberries and strawberries with a strawberries syrup. Oh so delicious, I enjoyed my meal and would definitely return and recommend.

Cute, classy, and great service. My friend and I were seated right away, the food was delicious, and we were not rushed to leave. I will be back here and recommend this spot to others!

We stopped by for a sweet treat instead of dinner. I ordered the Kaiserschmarren, the menu states it would take 15-20 minutes, no big deal. Well, the reality was, that it took well over 30 minutes, the waitress wasn’t very attentive and the Kaiserschmarren not what I expected or know from visits to Austria. It was way too thick and not really a torn up pancake, also the raisins were missing. There was definitely not enough plum purée. Not sure I’ll return.

This is my favorite place to brunch in DC; the sweet brunch menu is all delicious. As a big dessert person, I love that they have many shared and individual desserts to choose from. The pastry chef, Luigi Herve, makes only marvels. I gave 4 stars for service merely because though attentive, the waiters each time I went either were frighteningly polite, almost obsequious, as though they would be tormented if their smile were to break, or commented on my large appetite (female), which is due to my weightlifting regimen. Anyway, the food is impeccable, delicious, and interesting. I cannot recommend this place more if you need brunch or lunch in DC.

Busy little cafe with thoughtfully crafted breakfast items. I went with a large group and was able to sample a good portion of the menu. Everything was good, especially the spatzle. I didn’t, however, quite like the Austrian coffee with milk. Not sure why but it didn’t sit well with me. They also have plenty of cakes to choose from. We chose the green one with strawberries. It was very sweet but the strawberries mellowed out the sweetness a bit.

Excellent wurst and potatoes. The ham and cheese panini was also nice. The skirt steak was nice. Ravioli was also nice. Desserts options were amazing. Make sure you go inside to review everything!!! Atmosphere was romantic. They offer both in and outdoor seating.

First time at Kafe Leopoldo today, we ordered Belgian waffle, French toast, and Leopoldo’s omelet. Everything was so good! The omelet was top notch, the waffle was delicious, then comes the French toast! The service was great, we went without a reservation and they were very accommodating!

while walking through George town, we spend some time in Kafe Leopold and ordered some coffee and deserts. customer service was great but taste was OK. prices were little higher but given the great ambiance, they didn't hurt much. no onspot or nearby parking.

The Schnitzel was great, but the service was a little slow (I'm being nit-picky). But...I shouldn't have to go all the back to the kitchen to use Apple pay for the bill. However, the waitress was nice and the atmosphere was good. Dog friendly too!

Got a recommendation to try Kafe Leopold and was not disappointed. I love Austrian food and this was such a treat to try. The service was great and I loved the vibe of the restaurant. I enjoyed everything I ordered and will definitely be going back!

Quintessential Georgetown café where one can enjoy Austrian fare, complete w a full bar, dine in or al fresco. Entrées look deceiving, there are packed w volume. We had the brunch special Leopold spatzle and the Austrian version of a salad Niçoise, and it was way better. The Bloody Mary came plenty spicy, rich n flavor. The decor is modernist hip trendy. Staff are friendly and professional. The clientele is refined. This is a good GT spot.

Went three times. Better for brunch than dinner, and better for sweets than for salty foods. The strüdel is amazing and the pastries are delicious. Dinner wise, the main entrées are a little average, especially for the price. The branzino in particular is a disappointment. but the salmon and the spinach dumplings were enjoyable Brunch wise, the mediterranean breakfast and avocado toast were pretty good. Their location is amazing - lovely patio with a fountain, just off the bustle of Georgetown.

Highly recommend this Austrian-themed restaurant in Georgetown. Tried salmon, branzino, roasted chicken -- all very good. But the standout was service: our waiter, Timothy was the best. It's rare to have a server these days who intuitively understands the key to making a great restaurant experience -- a mix of friendliness, helpful suggestions, humor and attentiveness. Will come back!

This is an outstanding restaurant with decadent desserts to tempt any palate. We came for brunch and enjoyed our meal immensely. The wait staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. I need to come back for dinner to see if the experience is as good as our brunch! Definitely try a dessert as they ALL look great!

The food is delicious, but quite pricy. It’s a lovely cafe down an alley in Georgetown that really does just feel pleasant to eat at. The schnitzel in particular is great. The Austrian coffee is tasty. The pistachio dessert is somewhat disappointing because the pistachio section tastes amazing, but the dessert is ruined by giant strawberries in it that don’t seem to blend well with it texture or flavor wise.

Kafe Leopold is a quality restaurant. It’s modern interior is clean and reminded me of a High end furniture store. The food is made with quality ingredients and one can tell that each dish was made with a lot of attention and thought. The plum pancakes were delicious but took 20 minutes to arrive since they are made fresh to order. The ravioli was very tasty but a bit too oily for my liking.

This is my favorite restaurant in Georgetown. If you want to be transported to Europe, this is the place. Great food & desserts. I've eaten here for brunch, lunch, & dinner. I always enjoy the food. It's on the pricier side, but worth it. Servers are friendly. When people visit me from out of town, I make sure we eat at Kafe Leopold at least once 😉
