It was our first time at Escape The Game and it was the best decision for date night! We had 3 couples playing the Special Ops room and unfortunately we did not escape. 😂 Jefe was very courteous and pleasant throughout the process. The room was very well designed and definitely challenging which made it so much more exciting! We had a lot of fun working together trying to figure the clues. We enjoyed it so much we were already planning our next escape! We will definitely be back.

This place was amazing!! We did the Special Ops and then The Depths with the discount! The rooms were so well designed and the puzzles were challenging but not frustrating. So much fun!! But the best part was the customer service! Brandon especially was so nice and went above and beyond to make it a really enjoyable experience! We really appreciate it and would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a top of the line escape room!

We had the pleasure of going to the downtown location and playing the Prison Escape. It was my first time ever doing an escape room and I had way more fun than I expected. Our game master Sam really helped us out and gave us alot of clues. Even with all of those clues we still weren’t able to escape! It was very difficult for us but it was a lot of fun. Would recommend. (I want to mention the helpful person in the front as well as she explained things to me in detail but I can’t remember her name. Is it Chantay?)

We went as a group of 10 and did The Heist as a team building outing for work. It was a lot of fun!! It took us the whole hour and everyone had a blast. The game was challenging, but we were still laughing the whole time. We were already planning our next escape as we left. The staff was really great from beginning to end - taking pictures of our group and even giving us a signed card at the end. Thank you for a great night!

Out of the 9 rooms I’ve done, this is the best escape room Ive experienced! We did mysterious market and it was excellent. Such a great story, engaging twists and turns, good balance of smooth and challenging. Props worked great and our whole party enjoyed it. Special thanks to Da’naja who made it so welcoming to all of us, especially my 5 year old niece! Would definitely recommend!

I celebrated my 40th birthday here....and we almost escaped! 😆 Sam was amazing! The facility was super clean along with super clean bathrooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning ☺️. Such a fun night

Escape Game was the best escape room I've ever done, and it isn't even close! We did Prison Break after hearing all of the glowing reviews and were not disappointed at all - everything was carefully crafted with a focus on making the room enjoyable for people rather than easy to set up for the next group. Spencer, our game guide, was so helpful, friendly and attentive, and I never felt like I was lost with his guidance. The puzzles were a wide variety of innovation and collaboration, and we had such an exhilarating time that we've already started telling our friends we need to go together. Highly recommend!

One of the most fun escape room experiences we had! Our host, Jonathan, was really into it and gave really helpful clues ( but not too obvious). The room was well designed and cool looking with some neat surprises. Only downside was one puzzle slowed us down a bit cause it didn't work properly but Jonathan fixed it for us!

Jaela and Jayla were great!! My first time ever meeting someone with that name and I met two! We did Prison Break and my friend and I had already done this room before but we wanted to take our other friends to show them a quality experience and that's exactly what we got. We had the best time and my friend received a shirt for his birthday. Customer service is what it's about. Thank you for another great experience!

I’ve done two of these Escape Game rooms (Special Ops: Mysterious Market with 7 of us total and Prison Break with 6 total) and both were very well done. One of the best, if not the best escape rooms I’ve done, especially in DC! Multiple rooms, great use of technology, really good puzzles and clues and different skills along with a variety of puzzles/locks/activities to move on. They’ve been creative and interesting and without spoiling anything, just have lots of figure out and do, especially using teamwork. We got out of both rooms, though prison break definitely was much harder and the hints were pretty much needed. Every staff member has also been really helpful and incredibly nice. Even we had some issues in our game they were really good about stopping time and helping us. Hands down would recommend this location for sure!

We did jailbreak, and I can say after being through over a dozen escape rooms, this was the best escape room so far. Great for team building and a little fun.

Great Escape room place! And I've done a few before. But the rooms in this place are so cleverly decorated and very nice. The staff is wonderful and super friendly. And the puzzles were great. My 2 friends and I (in our 20/30s) did the Depths room and we had a blast. Great puzzles and not too hard for a 7/10. Definaly would recommend!!

This review comes weeks late but it was necessary to write one! Our group completed The Heist at the Downtown location the day after Thanksgiving and it was absolutely a hit. The staff was wonderful and made every effort to ensure that the experience was a good one. The game itself was a good mix of challenging and fun and the assistance we needed with clues were for some silly oversights. We also booked out the remaining spots in the room (we were a group of 6) which is a definite plus offered if you would like to solve the room with your group alone. I should also add again that the staff, especially T, were friendly and attentive. I had made an off handed comment to my partner about losing a hair clip and when we finished the room, T had a set of hair clips waiting for me to take home. It was very thoughtful and really made the whole experience all the more worthwhile :)

Such a fun adventure! It was challenging, but so much fun! Me and my family loved the puzzles and are excited to come back for more!

You will find no better escape rooms in the area and likely not within a 4-hour drive. Having been to 35+ escape rooms across multiple states, this place really set the bar for quality. The scenarios are good, the puzzle technology is well designed and works well, and the puzzles themselves make sense. Everything is incredibly high quality. The game masters are amazing too. Looking forward to coming back!

18 high school kids had a blast at Downtown Escape Game! Big thanks to the wonderful staff who made everyone so comfortable and well taken care of. For many of the children it was their first time in an escape room and they enjoyed the challenge. The props were in excellent condition and games were well designed. Thank you for a fun experience!

Great concept, poor execution. I love escape rooms. Been doing them for years. And the best ones are logical where puzzles are challenging but they make sense. Recently, I played The Market escape room with three other people. The first half of the room followed this format. Then it devolved into confusion. We weren’t sure what we had to do never mind how to do it. And the game master assigned to give us hint after hint without us asking for them so that, by the end of the game, we were just following directions on how to get out of the room rather than figuring it out on our own. Really impressive setups, but it may be worth looking into a “three clues only” policy. This would prevent players from being given clues against their will. Second, Clue Masters should not just give out clues without being summoned. Too often were we just reading the answers off of the screen even if we were close to figuring it out on our own. Really kills the immersive experience. Last, look into the complexity of The Market (and other?) games. If players have no idea what to do and it’s not posted anywhere, it’s no longer fun.

This place was so fun I went as a couple but was joined with 4 other ladies and it still was fun we didn’t know each other but ended up taking a photo together it was so much fun and our host were amazing and the group of ladies were amazing we all had a fun time , we made reservations and had little to no wait time ! And most of all WE ESCAPED 🎊🎊 shout out to Doug and Zora ❤️ We came all the way from Delaware!!!

First and foremost, Monty was an amazing game host! He was kind and helpful every step of the way. I have done quite a few escape rooms (over 20) and my 11 year old daughter chose our game which was The Heist. We ran into some issues with just overuse of some of the items in the room that made some of the game hard to play or read correctly, and one element in the room that didn't work the way it was supposed to and one that was VERY specific about placement we struggled with getting just right. We also had a part of the game that fell off that led us to think we had to dismantled something we didnt have to. Being rated 8 out of 10, this room was somewhat challenging and did have a few points where we were just confused where to use the items we collected but also had a few fun elements that my daughter found really magical and loved. Overall it was a fun experience despite some of the frustration, and having only one adult and one child- we finished with 8 minutes to spare! UPDATE: we also played all 4 rooms during our 4 day visit to DC and the management is actively fixing the overworked pieces. This staff is absolutely wicked awesome! Shout out to Chantay and Joey! We also played 2 rooms with random groups (which my daughter actually loved and requested)

Destiny and Jay were the best!!! We did The Heist room, and it was literally the most well-crafted escape room I've ever done. The puzzles were clever, and there were some really WOW moments. 1000/10 would recommend, and I'm definitely going back!

My first escape room experience was a phenomenal one. Sam was an excellent host and very helpful navigating the room. The room was challenging and there were surprises around ever corner. I see why this place has 5 stars, well deserved!!

Great game! My girlfriend and I did The Heist room and we had a great time. We’re usually doing escape rooms so this one topped our list. Great activity for after dinner-moves and would highly recommend. Shoutout to our game guide Reggie for helping us out!

I have done all of the escape rooms in this establishment and I loved every single one of them. I went to my first Escape Game establishment in NJ and have gone around the country to these games. They set the bar to how escape rooms in the 2020s should be. They also do not incentivize 5 star reviews and instead offer discounts if you get multiple gift cards or if you book the same day. I always use these rooms as a standard to other escape rooms that I visit such as Escape the Room or Escapology for example. Truly they deserve to be the number one escape room company in the country at this time.

We had an amazing experience at the escape room. Payton, my daughter, and I escaped from prison with two minutes to spare. Doug and Spencer were awesome. They helped make the experience even better.

My partner and I always try and do an escape room whenever we travel, and this was by far the best one we’ve ever done! Payton & Neptune were amazing as well. Very accommodating amenities & service! We will definitely check out the other locations on our next travels too!

Very fun. We were lucky enough to book a time where we had the escape room to ourselves. Typically, they can fit multiple groups up to 8 people into 1 escape room. I went with my husband and 2 kids, ages 13 and 11. We were able to navigate out of the room with 30 seconds left. We tried The Depths Room. Staff is very friendly and helpful. If we had more time in DC, we would’ve definitely booked another room!

We had such a great time here! We like to play rooms everywhere we go on holiday, so we had to play one in DC as well. We got in touch beforehand to ask if we could play with two young children and we got a positive response very quickly. We then just walked in in the afternoon and played the special ops room. We had it for the four of us, which was great (also for potential other players ;-). We enjoyed the room immensely and escaped with just 2 seconds on the clock. That really added to the experience. The puzzles were challenging and original and all themed wonderfully. The room looked great. Then to top it off, we got a wonderful certificate for the kids, welcoming us to the area. What a nice touch! Would definitely recommend and we might play another of their rooms before we head home.

We loved the two rooms we experienced today—The Depths and Special Ops: Mysterious Market. They are some of the best escape rooms we have played. They are well designed with intricate details and the puzzles are well integrated into the story. Doug and Reggie were great! We will definitely be back to try the other rooms.

We had a great time with The Depths escape room! We found all the items/decor in the room were of very high quality and worked well. The clues were pretty straightforward. Our group of four (two adult escape room regulars, a second-timer 10 year old, and a first-timer 9 year old) was able to escape with 10 minutes on the clock. We will definitely be back! I loved my experience here! We played the Secret Agent room and thought it was great. All the clues and puzzles felt natural and we never felt like a solution was forced or random. The staff were very friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had at the end. Overall, this was a really great experience and we will definitely be returning!

Had a great time, we did both the heist and prison break over two days with two people each time. Escaped both times, but both were very challenging and really rewarding. Great game mechanics, and very good help when needed. We had a great time!

1000/10 experience. My boyfriend I decided on “The Depths” and we had an amazing time. Joey was our game guide and they were very very encouraging and helpful! Neptune helped us get T-shirts and book our next game and they were also very nice and welcoming. We had a really great time at this location and we will be back soon! Thank you for the experience.

I have never had such a negative time at an escape room. Although the rooms were standard, be aware of the hosts. I called when I was running 5 minutes late and was told to not worry, with no mention that the clock was starting. Although no one else was in the room other than our party, it turns out they had already started our clock. I have done more than 20+ escape rooms and have never had this happen. Be aware when you book that there is no flexibility. Otherwise the rooms are standard but I recommend the Georgetown escape game more. However, must mention that Joey was nice and professional.

Our family recently did 3 escape rooms (Depths, Special Ops, Heist) here while on vacation to DC. Overall, the rooms were very good - triggers and effects were well-done, puzzles were fun, ambience was great. However, on Special Ops the room was accidentally set up wrong (an important item was missing) and some elements were non-obvious (a door opened but we did not even notice). And on the Heist our game host was over-eager in giving us hints too quickly (at least three times, not waiting for us to ask). Still, highly recommended.

My son and I did the Prison breakout venue. It was the 1st time either of us had done this. We really enjoyed figuring out the clues. The buildout was clever and intriguing. I highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 👍

Amazing experience! Had the best guides that made the experience all the more delightful! Got out of The Heist and was offered a second game discounted! We made it out of both The Heist and Prison Break with ~7 minutes to spare! So much fun! Would recommend 100%!
