Dined here with the family and experience a well cooked and thoughtful staff. After sitting down we very promptly were greeted and brought waters. Shortly after the waiter asked what drinks or apps we wanted and then ordered 5 mins later. Food received during prime time in under 30 minutes which helped the kids grumpiness! A bit pricey (fries add on are $6) but overall worth it. Would return for sure.

Excellent food and atmosphere! TVs everywhere even in the bathrooms. The cheese curds were the best and they gave so many. The burger was cooked perfect and very tasty!

Great experience through door dash. Friendly staff, even though the lunchtime crowd was intense. Excellent food, large portions, even starters could be a meal if you have a smaller appetite. Be aware when ordering. Shrimp avocado toast starter is amazing, but a meal in itself. Picture is shrimp avocado toast and salmon salad as a wrap, ended up being both lunch and dinner for a couple

when in DC , especially near the National Mall and museums, your food options are pretty limited. Penn Quarter offered a great outdoor area to grab lunch and people watch! food was good. ordered wings, Buffalo Chix Wrap, quesadilla and a " Bar-be-Que" burger. had an issue with my burger (spoiled meat IMO) and they were happy to replace it with another. the replacement was great. service was a bit inattentive and our drinks sat empty for long periods, however our server was nice and accommodating when present. atmosphere was nice and the outdoor seating, again, was wonderful. I'd def recommend anyone looking for something other than food truck options around the National Mall/ White House area.

Penn Quarter Sports Tavern is a classic bar in a good location of DC, but on my most recent visit I was floored by how expensive it was due to deceptive pricing and service. I ordered a sandwich for $14.99 and a soda but the bill was $30 before tip. How? The server asked me if I wanted French fries, which I expected came with the sandwich for free just like everywhere else, but it was actually $5.99! The server needed to mention there’s an additional fee, charge, or something. Then, you add on 3% for a credit card fee and 6% for DC minimum wage fee (so, does this mean I don’t have to tip anymore or should I give a 12-14% tip instead of 18-20%?). I sat outside with minimal lighting and did not see these fees disclosed anywhere. The menu on their website, notably, also does not list prices or fees. I had a nice night, but the whole experience felt like a bait and switch that left a sour taste in my mouth. It’s unethical. Just raise your prices and forget all the tack on fees. The food is nothing special, just normal food you’d find at any average bar in the U.S.

We got lucky when we stumbled upon this tavern! We sat upstairs were there was a few less people, a beautiful view, stunning bar top and plenty of tv's to see whatever sport you wanted....yes including the bathroom. The food was fantastic! Our service was so kind to give his opinion about different items when we asked. And not a yeah I've never had it but hear it's good, it was a descriptive this is better or that would be my first choice, he was super knowledgeable and very patient with all of the questions. If I come to DC definitely have to come back here! I highly recommend!!! Plus if it wasn't so dang hot there is tons of outdoor seating.

Stopped in for lunch between museum visits. The bartender and the wait staff were so nice and friendly. Had a draft beer and a greed grilled chicken salad My husband had a mahi mahi salad. Both were delicious as there wasn’t any food left on the plate when we were finished.

Service was nice, location was good BUT I ordered Texas Roadhouse burger which comes with guacamole and jalapeños. This was why i ordered but the cook forgot to put both of them... I realized half way eating burger and then I asked the server the ingredients were missing. She got it for me later but it was almost too late... I can't believe the cook forgot the main ingredients in the burger.. it was super disappointing... And there weren't apologies...

First time there on Friday evening after hitting the museums all day. It was a perfect stop for my son, grandson, and myself. TVs everywhere with sports, a nice draft beer selection, and good food. Service was outstanding. We will be stopping there whenever we visit DC.

This is my go to sports tavern in DC. It’s hard to find a sports tavern in DC with enough seating, great food, awesome staff and reasonably priced. This place has it all. I metro from VA here for game days since it’s right above the metro so it’s easily accessible. Highly recommend if you want a true sports tavern feel and has great food.

Visiting from Colorado, just wanted a sports bar to watch the Broncos game. Sat at the bar, and starting noticing a bunch of Broncos wearing patrons. Turns out, it's a Denver fan hang out. Bonus was great food and very decent pricing. Plus an excellent staff that were kind. Always means a lot to meet decent humans.

Nice sports bar. Service was reasonably quick. 1st time actually having something to eat here. I got the chicken tenders and fries. If you like reallly thick tenders and steak fries this is your place. For me, I like somewhat of a crispy frie and not so big tenders but they were seasoned well just humongous. 3 tenders and fries will run you $22. A bit pricey. Cash price the credit price was a little more.

I was exhausted after a full day walking doing tourist stuff and needed a place to recharge near the National Mall. I found this place and was pleasantly impressed. Good bar menu, (Don’t expect more). Soft Pretzel bites were OK but seemed like they were previously frozen. The Cheese Curds were delicious though. Decent beer selection, I would definitely stop here again if I’m in the Navy/Archives/Arena area.

Service was extremely slow! I didn't get my water til after my meal was served. Burger was ordered medium. Came out rare. I asked to have it cooked up. Waitress suggested that the burger was "medium" and I must want "med well". NO...I just don't want it bleeding all over the plate and fries! Burger came back extremely well done. Like charred. Guessing they used a weight to sear the hell out of it to cook it fast. Couldn't even ieat t. I was never asked about the second burger. She only came with the check a few minutes later. Waitress was rude and aggressive. Definitely would not recommend this place to visitors!

I've been to this place a handful of times while travelling through DC and need to catch a game. This is a great bar to watch the NFL on Sundays at if you aren't a Washington fan. Also a great spot to take a breather from the touristy stuff or work obligations you have in central DC. "Sports Tavern", at least where I'm from, usually signifies low quality food and a few TVs, but here that couldn't be further from the truth. Great food, great service, and enough blue light from screens to make you go blind. Whenever I'm in DC I find myself here and I don't regret it.

Stopped in for some food before a Capitals game. The outside setup is great for watching games, and even though it was chilly out, the heaters placed all over the patio area made the area plenty warm. Shortly after we sat down, staff came by with menus and waters. We were checked on plenty of times by several different members of staff (thanks again to the gentleman who called me back because I forgot my jacket on the back of the chair!). Everyone we interacted with was super nice. I wish I could say more about the food, but the giant plate of wings my husband and I split were excellent! We definitely look forward to going back when we're in the area again.

This is a very comfortable bar. They have plenty of outdoor seating. I imagine this place is popular when the weather is good. If eating outside, your order and pay via an app and they bring you your food. It worked very well. We had the nachos and a quesadilla and they were both good. They made a mistake on our order and the floor manager when the extra mile to fix the issue. We really appreciated their effort. We will return.

Stopped here in my DC trip for quick lunch. Staff was very attentive Food came in very fast Food was delicious We had burgers, garlic fries, quesadilla, and a salmon burger I asked if the burger brought pickles and they said yes. When they gave me my bill they charged me $3.95 for pickles which was very disappointing and very expensive. Other than that enjoyed the food and the ambiance. For sports fan that are looking for a place to watch sports and eat good food in DC this is your place! There are TVs everywhere including the bathroom.

After a long day of meetings we get in here. It’s a nice location with good food and a great selection of beer. I take the beer of the week which changes regularly. And the sunny shine up burger was great too. I can recommend both.

Me and a colleague of mine came in here after a long afternoon exploring the city. It was 30c outside and as soon we sat down we were given a glass of ice water, very attentive staff. Waitress was amazing and gave us great food suggestions. She even praised my colleague for eating a plate of wings and not getting any on his white shirt 😅 If I'm ever back in D.C I'll definitely come back here!

Stopped here for a quick lunch. The atmosphere is a casual pub style sports bar, with TVs everywhere including the bathroom. You'll never miss a shot during the game. I had the pulled pork sandwich with Garlic ballpark fries. The sandwich was great and the fries were crisp and flavorful. The staff was kind and courteous. This is great stop with a couple of friends and during March Madness.

Cool spot to watch the games. The game day nachos were awesome I definitely recommend them. Also, thought it was hilarious but so smart to have TVs in the restrooms so you won’t miss a beat from any game 🤣

They helped us accomplish our mission of grabbing some quick drinks and apps. We were served just as we sat and everything came out with the quickness. Looks like the pitch-perfect (pun intended) place to watch "the game". Plenty of screens. Even "LooTubes" for when their brews break the seal. The Nashville Hot Honey sauce I ordered for my Chicken Wings didn't quite supply the amount of spice I expected, but they had the oven-crispiness that was advertised and I did enjoy them.

I would keep going back. We sat outside but inside had a nice atmosphere. Burger was the way to go! We went twice on our 4 day trip.

Very good cheesecurds, and that is coming from someone who spent most of his life in Wisconsin. The service was outstanding. The outdoor seating area is great to take in the DC scene and people watch. Thus place is very close to the metro station, which was convenient for our trip into town.
