Penn
Quarter
Sports
Tavern
is
a
classic
bar
in
a
good
location
of
DC,
but
on
my
most
recent
visit
I
was
floored
by
how
expensive
it
was
due
to
deceptive
pricing
and
service.
I
ordered
a
sandwich
for
$14.99
and
a
soda
but
the
bill
was
$30
before
tip.
How?
The
server
asked
me
if
I
wanted
French
fries,
which
I
expected
came
with
the
sandwich
for
free
just
like
everywhere
else,
but
it
was
actually
$5.99!
The
server
needed
to
mention
there’s
an
additional
fee,
charge,
or
something.
Then,
you
add
on
3%
for
a
credit
card
fee
and
6%
for
DC
minimum
wage
fee
(so,
does
this
mean
I
don’t
have
to
tip
anymore
or
should
I
give
a
12-14%
tip
instead
of
18-20%?).
I
sat
outside
with
minimal
lighting
and
did
not
see
these
fees
disclosed
anywhere.
The
menu
on
their
website,
notably,
also
does
not
list
prices
or
fees.
I
had
a
nice
night,
but
the
whole
experience
felt
like
a
bait
and
switch
that
left
a
sour
taste
in
my
mouth.
It’s
unethical.
Just
raise
your
prices
and
forget
all
the
tack
on
fees.
The
food
is
nothing
special,
just
normal
food
you’d
find
at
any
average
bar
in
the
U.S.
