We hiked the Summit Trail starting in the afternoon. Parking is very easy and all the different trailhead are including the backcountry are clearly marked. This is said to be a moderate to challenging trail. The trail starts with gravel over erosion fabric, really nice grade up to switchbacks that have net fencing so that people don't take short cuts. There are some steeper rock areas and some areas with lots of roots. We hiked straight up without stopping, just to get away from some people that would not stop talking for even one minute! I'm sure everyone has had one of those hikes!About 1 mile you will find an overlook definitely worth a stop on the way back down. Get to the top and there are North and South views of the mountains with signs and benches. Incredible views and definitely worth it!

Beautiful state park with mountain views. Hiked the Summit Trail which is well maintained and clearly blazed. Interesting variety of wild flowers, shrubs, fungi and trees to see along the trek. Stunning mountain views at the summit, from Mt. Jefferson to the north and Grandfather Profile to the south with lots and lots more peaks in between. Definitely worth hiking. Please be a positive steward of planet Earth and take nothing but photos, and pack out your trash.

This State park has some of the best trail construction of any I have seen. Great views when you get to the top.

Ground was wet, but the air was dry. 2 miles up to a beautiful view.
