There were seven of us. I recommend reservations. Each one had a different meal, and we also had two appetizers. Everyone liked their selections. We are a bit new to sushi,so we had to look up some of the ingredients. Our server was helpful, friendly, and attentive. Prices are comparable to other sushi entrees at other restaurants

My wife and I enjoyed dinner here to celebrate her birthday during a trip to Boone. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The prices were outstanding for unique sushi rolls. We will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I come here a lot. Now the service is always bad but the sushi is great( usually). Today, not only did we have to wait 30 minutes for some water that was given to is by the hostess instead of our waitress but the food we ordered took forever to come and when it did, we were given the wrong sushi. The sushi that we actually ordered ended up tasting as if it were left out for a day. I am very disappointed and shocked that a restaurant can allow such service.

8/5 stars. We were visiting Boone for the first time in 8 years, and we went out for almost every meal through 4 days. Every where was great, but COBO was BY FAR the best dining experience we had. The sushi was amazing, as were the cocktails. The bartender Jenna was probably the best bartender we’ve seen in the high country, and our experience couldn’t have been better. Highly recommend cobo for creative and tasty cocktails, a great atmosphere, and amazing sushi 🔥🔥🔥

Best sushi in Boone! Tons of chef speciality rolls to choose from as well as the classics. Top notch bar as well that serves a variety of regionally inspired cocktails. Please note that to get a table, a reservation is required.

Fantastic dining experience in Boone, NC. The service was fast and friendly. Open seating at the bar that allowed us to bypass the wait for a table. The atmosphere is amazing, very detailed and very warm. The food was beyond my expectations, I had the Appalachian roll, and the Dynamite roll. Both incredibly good. I highly recommend this establishment.

My husband and I went here for a date night Saturday night. It was packed, so next time it may be better to reserve a table. However, bar seats were first come, first serve, so we waited for a bar seat. Got one in about 20 minutes. Our hostess was pleasant and knowledgeable. The bar was very pretty, and felt nice. We ordered a mocktail, hibachi, soup, a Going Green roll and edamame. Overall really good food! The hibachi was a little different, having the rice, protein, and some veggie all mixed together, served with more veggies on the side, and dipping sauce drizzled on the side of the plate. Overall good quality food, and would go again.

I’ve been going to COBO for years, it never lets me now. My favorite is the red dragon and the shrimp. I’ve always had a good waiter/waitress.

Decent food, atmosphere, and services. We enjoyed foods a lot along with variety of drinks. Great place for special occasions and gatherings. Will come back here again.

This place is top tier. Beautiful restaurant tucked away in downtown Boone. My favorite was the Appalachian roll, but everything was so good. It is a little bit pricey, but the food is worth it. Do get a reservation though, especially for weekends, since they get busy. Will definitely come back again!

Cobo is a new find for me; I visit the Boone area a few times a year and had not been here before. Our date night here was absolutely fantastic. I have celiac disease, so I'm always very careful at a new restaurant. Our server was very aware and knowledgeable and assured me they could modify most sushi dishes to a gluten-free configuration. I ordered the Sundown Express (with GF modifications) and it was fabulous! I was so eager to taste it that I forgot to take a photo, sorry.

Appetizers were delish, but my main way was way too salty.

    1. Got to make a reservation. We tried to go to COBO a year ago on a weekend ski trip but it was too busy, this time we made a reservation and came in right on time and they had our table ready. Alex introduced himself as our server and quickly got our drinks and apps. Alex was absolutley fantastic as a server, knowledgeable of the menu with great recommendations. Our friend who came with us went to APP State and has COBO as his favorite sushi in NC and Alex did not let us down as they shared stories of their love of COBO and the history they have with it. Highly recommend COBO and if you can ask for Alex as your server.

Amazing food. Here’s a hint. Like tuna Tataki, like seaweed salad? Order the Tuan tataki and get them both for the price of one! We were so hungry we didn’t take picks, but everything was delicious. Our waitress was very sweet and prompt. One thing I loved was our food came out as it was made, this may seem odd. I’d rather my partner get her food when it hit the window than have it die waiting for mine. It was all super fresh and delicious. It got packed, but we got there early and we’re seated quickly. If you want great and unusual sushi, I’d definitely recommend!

The food was fresh and delicious, with many options to choose from. I enjoyed the Kalifornia and Philly rolls and my husband had the pork belly tacos, which were cooked to perfection and had a nice balance of sweet and spicy. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The staff was attentive and courteous while the service was fast and efficient. We were very satisfied and would come back again!

Went by for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Thankfully we had reservations or we wouldn’t have been seated. We had a party of four and our server was great. We went with the Japan Poppers to start and they were amazing. We ordered Korean Tacos for our main course and for sushi we chose three rolls: Going Green, Red Dragon and New Yorker. All were good except the New Yorker. Just not our style. Very nice interior and lively atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Delicious in some ways, but a bit overly reliant on sauces of which there was an exorbitant amount used at times. The sushi, which the place is know for, was the absolute star. The duck was also very tasty. Worth a visit for the sushi alone, the rest was not as good as I expected.

I went here with a friend who said it was his favorite place. Mind you neither I nor my companion eat seafood. He assured us there were other options and boy was he right! We had expertly crafted cocktails while we waited for our table, once the food arrived we knew we hit the jackpot. Everything from the ambiance to the service was a 10. We will definitely be back...soon!

We have been here a few times and love the sushi and the cocktails! P.S. try the cookie dessert! You won't be disappointed! Plus the staff are really friendly even when they are slammed!

Okay this is really nice environment and hip location, unfortunately the food did not match the ambiance. The sushi that everyone raves about here must be from people who haven’t had the really good stuff. I wanted to so desperately like this place but all three tries make this a three strikes your out. This time we relied on the waitress for suggestions as we have ordered poorly prior. The were highly rated items from yelp. Well the waitresses choices weren’t good. The pork belly tacos were over cooked significantly, the potstickers were bland, the sushi was really not great and the crab Rangoon was over cheesed and lacking crab. Again I wish I could rate this place higher.

Of the handful of places in Boone area offering sushi, CoBo is hands down the best: nicely presented, great service, and some creative rolls (Red Dragon & White Dragon highly recommended). The space has a nice metro vibe. Reservations required, but the bar is comfy w/ first-come seating. (My sushi-loving daughter said CoBo compares favourably with some of her Toronto sushi hangouts.). Just tried Sundown Express (new photo), really nice, but White Dragon still my fav. Wife enjoyed the teriyaki tempeh.

Incredible food and great service. We had squid salad, tuna poke, General Tao's duck legs, seared salmon, and CoBo mussels, all crazy good. No sushi on this trip, but it's been great on prior visits. The only downside was the ludicrously small table (photo), despite having made reservations. Apparently and disappointingly, the booths are for three or more people not too peoples. I was going to give them a 4 because of the annoyingly small table, but the food and service are a definite 5.

I ate here for the first time on Thursday & absolutely loved the food, atmosphere, and bartender’s attitudes. I got a Russian Tea Cocktail, which was one of the best cocktails I’ve had in Boone, and ordered salted edamame & a sushi roll recommended by the bartender - it came out fast & was delicious! Will definitely be returning 🍣❤️

Best sushi I have had! Great drinks too. I felt very welcomed by staff and had a wonderful birthday! Make a reservation cause it will fill up

We ordered at the bar because we didn’t have a reservation (oops). Service was fast and our server was courteous, explaining the menu, refilling waters, and making sure we were happy with our food. We ordered nigiri Tako, the White Dragon, Hobbs, Sunshine, and the New Yorker. They were all delicious! Thank you CoBo!!
