I love this place...!!! I wish it was near my hometown. The food was delicious, big portions and the adult drinks were yummy. The ladies from the entrance and serves were really attentive and answered all our questions. Also they told us about their specials which it was nice. Family friendly and the tres leches was sooo good. FYI it’s pricey but it’s worth it. You get what you pay for so my family and I are happy.

I love supporting local Latin cuisine, and my stomach agrees. They are constantly busy, prices are reasonable. I usually go in once or twice a month for alcapurrias and other fried snacks, which most of the time is fresh, but there has been a few times they were a bit dry. And almost inedible, but when they are done right they sure are good!

Super good food, the empanadas were amazing and the portion size of everything was very filling!

Small restaurant and limited seating area. The staff is pleasant. No menus for in restaurant or takeout. Selections can be somewhat difficult if you're not familiar with certain dishes. I ordered a small arroz con gandules( rice with pigeon peas) and pernil ( pork shoulder). Both dishes could've used more seasoning and pernil was a bit overcooked therefore somewhat dry, I did not like this dish. In all fairness, I did not order any additional items that I can honestly rate or recommend. Locals seem to come in and order but no long lines.

Every time I go to La Borinqueña the food is always delicious. I don't go often since being boricua I prefer to cook my own puerto rican food at home for my husband & I but it's always a nice treat. I recommend giving it a try.

I love the scents you are greeted with when you walk in the door here!!😁 This restaurant is great for Spanish comfort food. I find that the customer area and work space is always very clean and tidy. Every time I visit this place is busy but they keep customers moving. Parking on the street can be tricky at times with the busy intersection nearby. I usually get the stewed chicken or the pork over yellow rice with beans. This is the best place in Waterbury in my opinion.
