This historical location stands with a clock tower facing four directions. You can walk by and enjoy looking at the history. You can walk with friends to check this location. Near the AIB bank branch. There was water on the side of the tower. I am not sure if it is safe to drink it, I did not drink the water. There is a nearby public toilet. Be careful, when crossing the road to come to this location.

Beautiful Gothic Revival Clock Tower situated on Quay .The clock was erected in 1863 with the intention to be seen by day for citizens and by night for the sailors, a benefit of an illuminated clock for shipping in its historical time. It has 4 transparent dials that use to be fired by four gas jets. The lower part of the clock tower, on three sides displays evidence of a fountain that was used for both people and animals to drink water from, however, the water was declared unfit for human consumption during 1871. The tour has a history of being troublesome from the start, however, 20th century began accepting it as a prominent landmark in Waterford. Worth a visit and reading up on the wonderful 'timeless' piece of art.

City centre, country's oldest city Waterford. Major shopping, famous bars, ancient Viking triangle are all worth visiting. A great place to hang on.

Visited this place with a Swiss friend .and our guide was excellent. Fluent in both French and German and was so knowledgeable about the history of the tower and the town

Exactly what it says on the tin, this is a (shortish) tower with a clock in it, which makes a great landmark on the Quays in Waterford city.

A well-situated landmark that helps non-locals find their way around. Great range of shops and familiar eateries, super friendly crows (probably just hungry but I'm a nature lover LOL πŸ€ͺ) and well served by buses that'll take you to most places on the map. If the Clock Tower were a person, I'd give it 5 Stars for outstanding customer service!

I'm not a fan of waterford shopping center, the parking fees are outrageous, and the quay is always full of traffic.

I love the surrounding area...You can click a lot of Selfies if you wish to...Ensure you carry enough warm clothes if you are going late in the evening. A sunny day the walk will give you a booster. So enjoy ..happy live!!!

Famous as a landmark of Waterford, this building is remarkable! First time i saw it,it seemed odd,as though the full size church sunk into the ground, and the tower is all that's left above the ground...πŸ˜‚ It is also interesting,it has a stonemason's mark,on the bottom left side, which looks like Awen symbol. There are a few more buildings around with the same mark.

Lovely clock tower. Used to be known as the Fountain Clock and featured a fountain where water used to flow into horse troughs. It is a nice feature on the quay and worth a look at if passing by.

Great spot to meet your friends because it is easy to find. It has great history and connections to Waterford. It was built in 1863 when Waterford was Ireland’s busiest industrial port. It was originally called the fountain clock as horses used to drink from it.

It is a clock tower and you can read the time. It's a reasonably good meeting place. Not a lot to add to that other than to say it's been there a long time. Not quite since Christ was a boy, but a good while!
