Ourselves and the kids loved it! If you're into historical information or events, maybe even a vikings fan, you'd definitely want to visit this sword to experience the sculpture and the surrounding area. The sword is truly magnificent at 23m long, the carving detail will leave you with wonder. A wall close by has the history and lore behind the sword which is amazing. Plenty of little food cafรฉs and restaurants near by. If you're planning on doing the whole viking history experience in this area, wear comfortable shoes.

The worldโ€™s longest wooden sword sculpture is now in place at itโ€™s new home in the heart of the Viking Triangle in Waterford City. The sculpture by John Hayes and James Doyle from Special Branch Carvings is 23 metres long.

Probably my favorite thing to see in Waterford. That includes the museums. The craftsmanship is outstanding. A huge wooden sword ingraved with a visual history of Waterford and Ireland on both sides. What amazing artistry.
