Wow, what an experience! First time going under the new ownership of Luis Martin - who has kept the Old Couch alive in Waterford. Would definitely recommend - a great experience with the 10 course tasting menu. You have the table for the whole night with really attentive service. What a gem for Waterford. Some incredible food & wonderful team. Can't wait to book in again with friends!!

Everything from the beginning was great! We were lucky to make a reservation at the exact same day and happy to celebrate our anniversary in this amazing place! Many thanks to the chef for complimentary dessert and to the cater for attention to details) very delicious autumn tasting set! can't find the words to describe it, just need to taste it! and the wine pairing was really incredible!

This quirky little cafe opened recently in Waterford City. I was lucky enough to taste a fab breakfast before they changed the opening hours to Lunch & Dinner. Also got to experience their first pop up Set Menu evening 'Cafe meets Fine Dining' and what a treat. The cafe is small but packed with character, the owners who do everything from cooking & baking to serving themselves are so lovely, the food is exceptional! All ingredients are sourced locally and everything made from scratch in-house! Well worth a visit! 😊

Excellent service, tasty and creative food. Definitely worth the visit. It's also very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. My favourite must have been scallops and various breads at the start. I think venison I got was a bit overcooked and the same for pork, but that could just be my personal preference. The wine pairings we got were excellent and I can't wait to come again.

Honestly probably one of THE BEST places you can eat in Waterford! I have eaten in places that are rated as a "Michelin Star" and leave very disappointed - This is BETTER than any Michelin restaurant I have eaten in - The feeling of being relaxed and enjoying the food and the night is what stood out to me and I was there with my partner for my 40th Birthday for at least 3hrs - and honestly it felt like 1hr as we had the most exquistie food. The chef and pastry chef, the owners are seriously onto a Winner with everything here!

What a fabulous experience. We went for the 11 course tasting menu with accompanying wines. It was absolutely amazing .. everything just zinged with flavour .. the combination of tastes amazing. Service was great. Very attentive. Great to have on our doorstep. Very much fine dining at its best in relaxed surroundings.

Really enjoyed my visit to Old Couch Cafe. The service and atmosphere were relaxed and friendly. Excellent value 6 course menu and the food was amazing. I really enjoyed the venison and scallops. Well worked flavours. I will most definitely return the next time I'm in Waterford.

Excellent atmosphere and top quality food! Totally recommended if you come to Waterford. The experience is unique and the menu brings an interesting fusion of different cuisines. Everything from the decoration, the wine pairings, and the overall homely feeling, make this place a hidden gem!

The excellent concept of a 10 course tasting menu makes for an evening of pure culinary enjoyment! Each dish is predominantly locally sourced and beautifully executed and presented to the highest standard! The staff are really friendly and each dish served is described in detail on presentation at the table. The charming, enthusiastic propreitess/waitress is also the pastry chef and the poppy seed ice cream with Valrhona manjari and raspberries soaked in Kinsale hazy summer mead was one of the best desserts I have ever tasted! I wish this young team every success in building a fine reputation in the future, they truly deserve it!!

Waterford has a gem, and it's here. Sophisticated, elegant and served with the soul that it took to source and present. It's not a meal to enjoy and leave, but an evenings dining experience which time must be taken to fully appreciate. Quirky premises but the clued up will find it and reward themselves with excellent food

Luis and team went above and beyond for us. The meal from start to finish was unbelievable from the mozzarella ice-cream to the lol dessert bites 10/10 - (and the smoked butter is a must ) We had the wine pairing and some 😂 all fantastic and unique . We will definitely be back x

Absolutely fantastic, every course and the whole experience tailered to perfection. An absolute delight in evey sense. My stomach can be a bit sensitive but left here feeling the best.

Perfection! Simply no other words can describe this place. From the moment you arrive you are greeted by name. We went for the ten course menu and let me tell you.....there was nothing we didn't like. At one stage we were using our fingers to mop up the last bits of sauce left in the bowls. We adore the old couch and it won't be a year before we return! The standard and love and care that goes into each course is just tremendous! They are the ultimate powerhouse when it comes to flavour!

Place was gorgeous, very spaceous, food was very very good and worth of the price.

Excellent dining experience in an intimate setting. The food is super, the menu is full of surprises. The service is attentive and still unobtrusive. The quirky decor provides ample talking points between courses. This is probably Waterford's best restaurant since Keith Boyle relocated to Castlecomber.

We came across this small restaurant quite by accident and are so glad we did! On the last evening of our brief stop in Waterford, this was the absolute highlight. Lovely, high quality food, imaginatively presented. We would thoroughly recommend.

The Old Couch is an absolute gem. Simply the best place for food in Waterford City and I won't be told other wise! Since their opening I have rarely eaten out elsewhere because what more would you want; the menu is lovely, the food is just perfection and service is always brilliant. If you want great food in a funky setting then look no further. Great veggie options and make sure to leave room for dessert. Also hugely recommend afternoon tea if you're lucky enough to get a booking!

Most amazing meal that I've ever had, the atmosphere, the service was excellent.... A most enjoyable evening... I'd recommend it wholeheartedly... We will definitely be back really soon.....
