Overall an awesome park, lots of river access and several lakes. Great bike paths, very scenic. As for camping, the campground is rather small and tight. However, there are a few sites along the river that can accommodate a small camper. No electricity, but the view is awesome! We had site 18, loved it. Fished right behind the camper and caught a few walleye. A pair of bald eagles were right across from us and even came down to bathe in the river. Be aware, the park, and especially the campground map, is WAY off for scale, everything is a lot closer than shown.

It's such a beautiful place! The road that runs thru the park was smooth and well maintained. The entire park has beautiful manicured greenery! We did not see any garbage laying on the ground...again beautiful place!!

So many birds here!!! Very green and pretty paved/flat trails. Good space to stretch your legs.

Amazing park for being in the middle of town! Great trails for hiking and biking. Biking trails can be hard to navigate but the trails are on a few mountain biking apps. The lake is always packed in the summer with boats. I would highly recommend renting a kayak and exploring some of the lakes!

Nice park and campground. Sites are spaced well. If you don't want electric hookup, there are some beautiful spots on the river! Shower house is clean and private stalls. Could use more room for changing, but just fine. There is a potable water faucet at the dump station. GREAT bike trails and well maintained hiking trails., too. There is a near-by airport, highway and railroad so occasionally there is noise but nothing too bad. Oh, and Cedar Falls downtown is just 5 mins from the park entrance. Good fun there too. A couple tasty breweries and restaurants. Pics are from around the park mid-July.

This was a great park for a quiet weekend. Most sites were full but they are reservable so you don't have to worry about not having a spot. Bathrooms were clean. Only electric hook-ups but water is available before you set up camp.

On the way back to cedar rapids we took a pit stop here, I really enjoyed the place. Nice windy atmosphere with quite good scenic view… the only disturbance is the vehicle sound.. it view is near to a highway.

Really nice campground. So many trees and a beautiful river. Bugs weren't too bad. Flies do bite, but nice little beach area, tons of baby frogs when we went. Plenty of spots and we'll worth the price!! Very affordable and showers are kept up.

2 of the lakes were very over grown and nothing but lily pads. Some of the park was also overgrown. Alice lake was nice, quite a long drive through the park, but we caught some nice fish there! Lots of wild life. We will be going back :)

Clean, easy parking, water available and electric hookup, very reasonably priced. Pets allowed and fire pits and picnic tables. Lot to do for activities. Restrooms. Can reserve site if you know ahead of time.

I loved the George Wyth beach and park when I was living in Waterloo Iowa it was fun at the park because there is a playground and you can fish there and grill out there and at the beach you could buy snacks and food and fish bait and drinks and you can rent some things to play on and you can even fish there to. I live with my fiance and our daughter her name is lily she is 3 mouth's she will be 4 mouths on this Friday on the 22ed I live in Manitowoc Wisconsin now that's why if my mom and dad and brothers if they go there I am not with them when they go. This is our daughter 😊

Great park with lots of soft trails for hiking, biking and walking, the Cedar River and a few inland lakes for paddling, fishing and bird watching. There is a nice swimming beach on George Wyth Lake with a nearby shelter with concessions, showers and bathrooms during the summer swimming months. There are several paved trails through the park that connect to the greater Cedar Valley Trails system for access to 90+ miles of paved trails. Several shelters throughout the park for picnics and get-togethers, some that even have a fireplace within the shelter. Also quite a few freestanding charcoal barbecue grills for cookouts.

Older park. Has nice big trees. Nice to be close to Cedar Falls were all the museums are. The Sullivan brothers was great! John Deere was interesting and free! While we were in the state park for 3 days we never saw a ranger drive by and no one was at the gate entrance.

Great bike trails and hiking. Nice camp ground. Lots of places to Kayak. If you want to just be in nature for awhile, it is a great place to go in the Cedar Valley.

Great for fishing, hiking and camping. Has a lot of snakes in the spring and summer so just be careful. Watch for geese and turtles. Also deer do run across the roads in the park, so please just stop speeding in this park. Just stop speeding in general. Speed limits are limits for a reason. Don't be stupid and be responsible and respectful. CLEAN UP YOUR GARBAGE/TRASH!!! I DO NOT WORK THERE AND IM SICK OF CLEANING UP AFTER RANDOM PEOPLE.

Great State Park!! Fishing spots, swimming, hiking trails, pavilions and lots of nice pull off grill areas to view the marsh, as well as the various rivers that flow through the park!!

This park is pretty cool. Different trails, kayaks and paddle boards, canoes, peddle boats all for rent. Pretty lake, clean, nice beach for swimming. A few food and drink things for purchase (pre-packaged only)

We had a pretty good experience the one night we stayed. $18 for electric and really close to the river. It was pretty quiet in our site. All sites seem quite level.

Decent beach. But if you want to hang out on the beach, be aware of wedding parties and the sand is mostly gravel.

I've spent this year at the park. I didn't have any bad experiences while out there. It's not huge, but it has plenty of trails to work your legs out on. Enjoy!

It's an OK park for the area I guess. But it seems park staff do almost NOTHING about the amount of trash that's EVERYWHERE laying around in the park. Especially near shorelines. It's pretty disgusting. I was expecting the cleanliness of a park like Backbone State Park, but found the total opposite at George Wyth. George Wyth is tiny compared to Backbone so I would think it would be easier to keep it as clean as Backbone, but if you hike the woods, walk the shorelines and just generally pay attention, you'll see trash and garbage everywhere laying around in George Wyth. It's really too bad.
