My
family
and
I
came
to
get
a
tour
of
the
Hawkeye
Towers
Apartments
in
March
of
2023
because
I
planned
on
going
to
Hawkeye
Community
College
and
needed
a
place
to
live.
Management
seemed
to
be
very
nice
when
they
gave
us
the
tour
and
the
model
apartment
they
had
was
very
nice
and
made
me
very
excited
to
move
in.
It
seemed
to
be
very
well
kept
at
the
time.
I
decided
that
I
wanted
to
live
at
the
towers
due
to
its
convenience
with
being
so
close
to
the
school
and
lower
living
costs
but
boy
did
I
make
a
mistake!
I
moved
in
the
1st
of
August
2023.
And
from
the
moment
I
stepped
foot
in
that
leasing
office
to
get
the
keys
to
my
apartment
so
I
could
move
in
it
was
hell.
First
off
there
was
trash
everywhere.
Then
they
told
me
a
numerous
amount
of
times
that
they
would
email
us
information
about
roommates
and
which
apartment
I
would
be
in
at
least
2
weeks
before
move
in
date
which
never
happened
no
matter
the
numerous
amounts
of
times
I
emailed
them
and
called
them
about
it.
Then
when
I
got
there
they
told
me
they
had
no
units
available
and
that
I
would
need
to
wait
another
3
days
to
move
in
(side
note
I
live
3
hours
away
and
literally
just
got
done
packing
up
everything
I
own
into
two
vehicles
and
driving
3hrs)
after
they
literally
told
us
multiple
times
that
I
was
all
good
to
move
in
on
the
1st.
So
as
you
can
imagine
my
parents
and
I
were
not
too
happy
about
this
and
my
dad
basically
told
them
that
no
this
is
not
going
to
happen
and
asked
for
the
manager.
Then
the
manager
came
and
talked
to
us
and
the
lady
at
the
front
desk
and
she
basically
said
that
she
has
been
in
contact
with
us
for
a
while
and
the
she
has
a
unit
ready
for
me
and
she
apologized
for
the
confusion.
So
then
we
were
given
a
key
and
an
apartment
and
we
went
to
go
move
my
stuff
in
but
as
soon
as
we
opened
the
door
we
were
devastated.
I
was
assigned
to
move
into
a
unit
full
of
black
mold,
flys,
trash,
maggots,
no
oven
door,
and
so
much
more.
I
was
so
discouraged
and
stressed
at
this
point
that
a
just
broke
down
and
cried.
At
this
point
my
dad
had
had
enough.
He
basically
went
to
the
front
desk
and
said
look
my
daughter
is
not
moving
into
an
apartment
full
of
black
mold
and
who
knows
what
else.
So
either
assign
her
a
different
apartment
or
give
me
my
money
back
and
we
will
find
somewhere
else
for
her
to
live
and
I
will
report
you
to
the
state
for
a
health
code
violation.
So
then
we
asked
for
the
manager
again
and
come
to
find
out
she
had
given
us
the
wrong
keys.
So
then
we
were
given
another
set
of
keys
and
a
different
apartment
that
was
in
much
better
condition.
After
living
here
for
4
months
I
can
tell
you
nothing
has
changed,
it’s
still
been
hell.
I
get
randomly
charged
an
extra
like
$50-$80
on
my
$500
monthly
rent
for
“appliance
set-up”
mind
you
I
was
charged
this
after
already
living
here
for
3
months
and
we
didn’t
have
any
appliances
“set-up”.
And
whenever
I
go
to
the
leasing
office
to
ask
them
about
it
they
literally
have
no
idea
why
that
charge
was
added
on
and
all
they
tell
you
is
you
have
to
pay
it
or
you
will
be
evicted.
The
management
here
is
absolutely
terrible!
I
was
without
WiFi
for
almost
3
weeks
and
had
to
go
to
the
school
to
do
homework.
And
on
the
lease
and
the
resident
portal
it
says
that
it’s
optional
for
renters
insurances
but
when
you
actually
get
here
they
tell
you
it’s
required
to
move
in.
And
it’s
an
extra
$12
on
your
rent
each
month.
They
also
will
send
your
packages
back
if
you
don’t
pick
them
up
within
24hrs
of
them
being
delivered
which
is
stupid
because
what
if
you
want
to
go
home
for
a
few
days
or
something.
I
have
also
had
packages
stolen
a
couple
times
because
when
the
packages
are
delivered
to
the
leasing
office
the
just
put
them
in
a
big
pile
and
when
you
go
to
pick
up
a
package
you
just
dig
through
that
pile
and
find
yours
and
take
it.
They
don’t
lock
them
up
or
anything.
And
don’t
even
get
me
started
on
the
parties
and
fights.
There
is
at
least
one
cop
here
once
a
week
because
people
call
in
the
parties,
fights,
noise
complaints.
Etc.
To
this
day
there
is
trash
everywhere
as
well
as
broken
glass.
