Ward no. 10 is well known for Dengue treatment. Excellent medical and minor staff, kind and helpful. Be ready to get blood samples every 6 hours if you are treated for Dengue fever. There is a specific amount of liquids to be taken orally every hour and should be measured using a measuring cup and the amount of liquid you can take will be informed by the doctors. Similarly, the urinal output needs to be measured using a measuring cup every two hours. You are not allowed to have artificial drinks or chocolate related drinks. King coconut, soup, porridge, white milk, Jeewani can be taken. Black or red coloured food are not allowed. There are mosquitoes in the ward during the evening therefore make sure to take mosquito repellent sprays. Ward is clean and the minor staff clean the ward at least 3 times a day. Bathrooms are in very good conditions and make sure to clean them well after using.

Well known for Dengue fever treatments nowadays.Good staff with quality service. Though it is government far beyond the other government institute.Specially recent administration has concerned well about the service. Can recommend to stay frankly. Cleanliness much admirable. Good background throughout the hospital area, which makes the patients and visitors mind more like a leisure place.Medicine also good.Wards are challangeble to even private hospitals.Ample parking available.Emergency service including Ambulances 24 hours a day. Most importantly situated in a traffic free area.Canteen available with fairly reasonable rates.

Great institution. But this time of the year, Hospital is over crowded with Dengie patients. The designated parking locations are only for the Hospital Staff. Public has to park their vehicles out side the premises, along the public road.

Best Government hospital for Dengue. Very clean and hygienic. Staffs are very friendly and they maintain the surrounding well. Only downside is they don't let you park your vehicle inside. Road side parking not safe due narrower roads and if raining the main road gets flooded up to knee level !!. Numbering system in OPD need improvement as its mismanaged by the security officers.

I recommend the ward no. 10 for dengue or severe dengue patients. They even admit patients with dengue symptoms. No need for a dengue antibody. Doctors, nurses and the minor staff are very helpful, supportive and informative. The ward and the washrooms are very clean and tidy. Please keep it clean and help the staff to maintain the standard.

Malfunctioning phone exchange system.. makes it impossible to contact a ward directly in case of an urgency. Badly needs an overhaul.

Even a private hospital in Sri Lanka does not give this kind of a service... Great hospital staff.

  • 5/5 Chitra R. 4 years ago on Google
I cant find the words...i dont know how to explain...how to describe ...or how to appreciate their service. there is no any way to appreciate their dedication. Gods on earth When I entered thro the gate, i felt like being in a luxury private hospital. they smiled and gave a good welcome. that was my first visit to the place. everyone lead me to find the ward..though its so easy even for a blind person. And..the doctors.nurses..even the minor staff ...its a great dedication. what a wow caring for patients!! finally...as i cant find the most suitable word to praise you all..i am just saying "Thank You for saving the lives." n.b. there are some reviews here about the kack of parking facilities, which shiuld be ignored by everyone becz our major goal is to get the patient cured. parking is not a considerable matter at all as this is the only govt hospital for infectious deseases. the hospital personnel should not concern on our parking problems.lol!

I am writing to express my gratitude for the treatment I received at your hands in september 2019.I sincerely thank you for making me feel at home, when I felt uncomfortable in the hospital environment. I believe that Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama and Nilanthi are few of the best doctors in the world. I still remember the day when I was admitted to the National Institution of infectious Diseases in Sri Lanka. It was one of the toughest times in my life in September 2019. The personal attention and kindness shown by Dr.Ananda Wijewickrama and Dr. Nilanthi Idampitiya with their staff helped me overcome my fears. I have never felt as comfortable going to a hospital in my life before. I thank you for your excellent work. It is hard for me to get over my illness. Your treatment coupled with the caring attitude of the hospital staff has helped me attain fast recovery. You all have always been kind and offered me the moral support when I was down with Dengue haemorrhagic disease. It is not just the treatment, but the care and empathy shown by staff like you which makes the world a better place to live in. I offer my heartfelt thanks for the treatment and care received by me under your careful supervision. I had a speedy recovery, the credit for which goes to you. I am pleased to inform you that I am doing well. My family and I are grateful to you and the hospital staff for all that you have done for us. I don't have words to express my appreciation for your services .you have always been of great support to us. It is in your careful monitoring and treatment that we found relief. Your hospital staff has been attentive and supportive. Thank you once again for your services. Pavithra Aarewatte Dappula Aarewatte Dilina Aarewatte Isira Aarewatte
