It's a decent place to stay. Some reviews made me lery. But It isn't bad. Not all the amenities some people are looking for, a place to lay your head down and be comfortable. Is all I was looking for, and that it is. Nice room's and nice bed's. I was here last year and came back again this year.

My rating is 0 stars as I am forced to put 1 star.. Bed bugs , yellow staining all over the bedding, tub was stained up as if someone showered and it was never clean. Towels had yellow stains on them. Tried to check in she told me “(you people) are not allowed here your kind makes too much noise, when you people come the rooms stink all the time) told her to cancel my reservation they won’t be getting anymore of my money stayed there once & was skeptical then that situation happened last night (2/21/22). If you are black your not wanted there they will creep around your bedroom doors make sure you aren’t doing anything if you have toddlers go some where else they complain about kids being there

They attempted to get $20 additional cash out of me when I was checking in (I paid online) claiming its a refundable deposit. Ok...what kind of hotel is this?? I didn't have cash so he pointed me to the ATM. I told him to just refund me everything and I'd go somewhere else. Not sure what this racket is...but avoid this hotel if you don't want to spend additional money when checking in. Also: No smoking signs everywhere, but the hallway stinks of tobacco. Suuure there's no smoking. 8-/

When I read the reviews for this place I considered the bad ones as being from people who were more prone to complaining and booked a room anyway since you can't find anything in the area for less than $150 a night. It does work if you only need to stay one night like I did, it's a dingy room with suspiciously stained furniture but it works for one night. I will say the cockroach in the bathroom and the made up $20 "room deposit" was a nice touch to make this place even worse. All in all, yeah it's fine if you're only staying one night but I'd rather spend the extra money to have an actually nice place to stay.

all of these bad reviews are outdated and completely over exaggerated. this is the only decent place in waukegan that you’ll spend under $100 on. this place is located on the outskirts away from town and therefore much safer than any of the other motels around this price range. the hotel is newly RENOVATED and most of the rooms are much nicer than they were even just a year ago. the prior reviews were clearly written by stuck up people who aren’t from the area and have unattainable standards. this place is clean and comfortable, don’t knock it til you try it yourself.

I appreciated having this local place to escape to when the power was out for two days during this heat wave. Gave us a little discount when we added a second night at just about checkout time, worked with us to ensure we were taken care of while we couldn't be in the comfort of our home 5 minutes away. It's now on the top of the list when my guests come into town. In both price and accommodations, you're in a sweet spot between hotel and motel. Quiet even when mostly full, and plentiful parking near exits. Nice staff that seem to always be available on site. Not a new facility, but rooms decorated with cool vintage furniture/ fridge. Very few hotels allow smoking anymore. If you can't stand even the slightest smoke odor, that's easy to find. I am not a cigarette smoker, and though I could tell they allow smoking in some rooms, even in our 'smoking' designated room it was not overwhelming whatsoever. Also was nice to have a hotel room with windows that open. Which I assume is a bonus of the smoking rooms, but could be in the non smoking, I did not inquire.

The room was nice. I didn't know that it came with a mini stove, it had a mini fridge and then under the stove I thought it was an oven, but nope it was another huge fridge. Okay, the room wasn't the best in retrospect. There was a huge hole in the wall next to the desk, there was old dried blood on the other wall near the desk and dresser, the mini fridge wasn't clean at all. There were crumbs all over the mini fridge, and it was yellow and cracked. There was no dishes (not even a single pot or pan either) at all in any of the cabinets (you would think there was since there was a two burner stove top). Even though right now I am homeless it doesn't mean that I don't have standards for what I want to lay my head down on. The pillows were flimsy, the bed was hard as all get out and to be honest I could've slept in my car better and more comfortably, but was the first cold night and my boyfriend and I needed to be out the cold. The room itself had a odd smell to it right when we walked in. The bathroom wasn't all that great either. I mean the shower was really retro looking, so I liked that much of the room. Also we had the best room in town....well we would've if it was actually able to be used. We had room 104; well room 104 was right next door to the laundry room, but unfortunately you can't use the laundry room until a certain time and last time to use it is like 9:00pm. Come on what if I needed to get my laundry done right at that time like at 2:00am? Plus I have anxiety issues (like really severe problems that prohibit me from being around people without someone I know being there with me). This is the reason I do all my laundry and shopping after everyone is sleeping and I can go alone and not have a horrible anxiety attack that can't be controlled or stopped. Staff wasn't all that nice either. Plus for a late check-out they charged me an additional $25 that I couldn't pay when I left....I had to pay it RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT!!!! Rude, greedy, dirty and I will leave it at that.

Whoever the woman is that answer to phone at the front desk is completely rude I called asked one question and was about to ask another one and she literally hangs up the phone on me so they can forget my service. I wouldn't even give them 1 star

The attendant was super rude and unhelpful, toilet paper was not re-stocked, there was no shampoo and only one small bar of soap. Among other problems, including a lot of the building smelling like cigarettes.

Attempted to get a room. The desk clerk was sooo rude. We travel nonstop for work ( we are pet transporters) just dropped off after driving from Pennsylvania. She questioned why anyone would need a room at this hour (6 a.m.) I told her we drove from Pennsylvania. She just said NOPE. Glad I didn't pay anything. I am a Wyndham Rewards member .

Stayed here for the Ren Faire. Place is good for what it is. If you stay bring a pillow. Theirs aren't great. AC is great. Bed is average. Bath in room was nice and water is warm. Cable works. It's a great room for the price. Hallways smells like smoke and the hallways are a little sketch. For the price it's safe and clean. No bugs. Stayed for 3 days.

First roon very musky odor. Changed room but could not get any channels on TV. The clerk came down and knocked and let himself in immediately. Did not wait to answer door while my wife was getting out of the shower. After trying to get channels to work told us that his manager would be back in 2 hours to check. Told him that we needed to change rooms if that was the case. Miraculously, the TV worked 2 minutes later. Overall, it was a very dark hallway and rooms with yellow lights. Only 2 pillows on bed and minimal towels are the cheapest you can get. Old furniture out of the fifties Left at 7:30 and Continental breakfast not much. 2 coffee pots with barely any coffee. Condiment tray had only sugar substitute. Fridge barely stocked with yogurt juice and milk. Some small hostess coffee cake and bananas. Makes my opinion of Wyndham even lower. They need some corporate training and a surprise inspection for this franchisee.

The staff was really nice. But the pictures in no way reflect the hotel. The rooms were disgusting. Hair from the last guest still on the table. We found a meth bag in the AC and the blanket had burns from a glass pipe. 100% would not stay here again.

SERIOUSLY CHECK ALL REVIEWS PRIOR TO STAYING! I WISH I WOULD’VE!!! If I could leave zero or less than zero reviews I completely would!! I booked a room for my homeless family member using my points (which I’ve done MANY times for other family members/friends). I also call the Wyndham customer service to verify I did everything correctly and they said that I DID. HOWEVER; upon my family members arrival; they were not allowed to check in even though the room was registered to them CORRECTLY!! 15,000 points gone because of THEM!! My family member even called me on the phone and I could hear a lady in the background belittling him. I've called customer service and this despicable hotel would only return HALF my points when it was their error! I called today to speak to the manager and she basically called me a liar, said I was wrong and even worse she wouldn’t let me talk. She just kept talking over me, interrupting me, called me a liar basically and when I told her to please let me talk. She still kept talking and was horrifically rude and brash! She then proceeded to tell me she was done and hung up on me! If you want HORRIBLE customer service, dirty place and to be ripped off; then you should stay there! BUT FOR YOUR OWN PROTECTION AND PEACE OF MIND, I HIGHLY SUGGEST STAYING ELSEWHERE!!
