Horrible management, unfriendly and unprofessional. Try to sell you on the fact that you "buy in" to the community and you "own" a piece of the property and tell you your money will grow as the value increases. In actuality, they use the money to act like they own you. They demand you perform upkeep on the property that is usually the responsibility of the management and maintenance. When we initially moved in the place had no curtains. Immediately afterward they began demanding we have blinds installed to their exact specifications. Demand you plant flowers around the complex every year and will fine you if you don't. Demand you move any car parked in visitors parking every 3 days or they threaten to tow it for fear of "abandoned" cars and "makes the property look bad." As if it could look any worse with idiots like this in charge. My family traveled away for an emergency for a few weeks. Apparently during that time my car developed a flat tire. They had it towed away as an abandoned vehicle even though they knew it is was my car and registered in my lease as my vehicle. Maintenance takes months and a dozen phone calls to get anything done. Most of the time they just ignore you. The furnace breaks down every single year in the winter and it takes them several days to fix the same broken parts over and over. "Managers" and secretaries are rude and unfriendly and are cycled through on a monthly basis, no idea how they keep finding these bums with the same exact antisocial personalities. They use their positions to feel some sense of false empowerment and boss you around even though you are a paying customer. Place has become a graveyard over the course of my stay here because of garbage like this accumulating. Icing on the cake, when I moved in the "buy-in" for the property was $5000, since then it has grown to $8000. However, to attract more residents, they arbitrarily cut the return amount to $2500. Several residents I know were only returned $1000 because of "damages" and "renovation" needed for the apartment after they moved. Things that would usually be performed by the apartment complex. They are literally scam artists. Don't make the mistake of giving these crooks a dime of your money. Pieces of trash like this belong in the garbage.

Horrible I've been here for 12 yrs now when I first moved here everything was fine until they started getting new staff. It's time for me to do my resertification and just because on one of my pay checkes I worked overtime now there trying to charge me $656 for one check when I don't even make that much. They have really gone to far this don't make any sense at all..... So if your planning on moving here don't due it!!!!!!! It take them for ever to come and do work orderes I had to wait 2 months for a work order to be completed 👎🏽👎🏽

Average, they keep the grounds well and the place looks great in the community. Many of the residents plant flowers in the spring and it looks so pretty. Maintenance team could be better, however, unless you live in an extremely high priced place what do u expect. When hot water and heat are out , they get right on that. Anything else expect to wait, maybe indefinitely.

I’ve been at hickory hollow for about 8 years. I stayed in a 2 bedroom unit for about 4 years and every year in the winter my heat would go out. At the time i had my daughter who was 1 when we first moved in. The maintenance couldn’t figure out the problem so instead they bought out space heaters until i constantly complained and they had a contractor come out twice. I moved from my 2 bedroom into a 3 bedroom and I’ve been in this unit for almost 4 years and the entire time I’ve been here whenever it rains hard out my basement gets wet in this same one area of the basement. I’ve contacted maintenance every time it’s happened and the problem still isn’t fixed. I’ve sent over pictures and videos regarding the maintenance that’s needs to be fixed in my unit and still no one has even attempted to come out. The manager Joy says everytime i call she will have maintenance come out. I sent over these emails and been calling since December and still no maintenance. My pantry door one day decided to just fall on my 2 year old at the time called them, you think someone came out!! Even called Huntington and they’ve done nothing. Hickory hollow is nice as far as price but the maintenance in these units needs to be updated.

We had to call them for a week straight to get them out to our unit to fix our fridge and now they’re saying it’s fine and that we had too much in our freezer. Took everything out the freezer and the fridge is still not cooling. Have to replace about $100 worth of food and spent more to get a cooler. I would not recommend living here and if you do live here please move out ASAP. Do not stay here or move here.

I moved here about 2 years ago and the original staff was here when I moved in I never dealt with their maintenance crew too much unless it was something that I couldn't fix myself I treat the place as I would if I owned my own home if I can fix the Small Things without calling maintenance I will. I move to the Wayne Westland area because it is quiet this area is no exemption it is quiet the neighbors are nice I've got a young daughter and she's actually able to go outside and play in this community this is a nice place if you have children it's unfortunate that the school that was behind it closed but things happen overall this is a great place the deposit is high but it is worth it.

I have friends that live here. It's ok. It's clean. But it has been hard to get things fixed in their apartment in a timely manner.
