Had a great 2 nights away in our own tent in the wild camping field. Lovely and peaceful and saw a stag just as dawn was breaking. Lovely woods to walk around and to be honest it was perfect to chill out for a few days. Owners were really helpful and kind.

2nd time in as many years staying at Dernwoods' Encampment wild camping site. Love it! Protected from some pretty savage wind and rain we barely felt it nestled in our tent in the trees. It's great that it's safe for our kids to roam the woods, finding little swings and bases made by previous families - no cars - but be prepared to push your tent in a trolley to your pitch. The farmhouse sells home grown and baked goods - cooked breakfasts especially yummy there. Facilities all clean and plentiful and there are some cracking pubs nearby for lunch/dinner out as a nice treat. Lovely weekend.

Lovely campsite, we stayed in the encampment and it was great. There are three pitches, slightly separated from eachother by some tall trees, which helps with the privacy. The owner is really friendly, the shower block is clean, however there are only 2 loos. The cafe at the farm is a must-go! On top of all of that, the campsite is perfectly situated to discover Hastings, Eastbourne and the surrounding area.

A really fantastic campsite. But not one for Wheely suitcases or I want to stay up and make noise all night. If that's what you want... Then elsewhere would be better. Otherwise, it has loads of space to camp and camp fires are allowed. With no cars having access to the pitches, it's very safe and relaxing. The cafe is great and the little shop nice bread.
