Pretty new and nice Park. Very big and open space that is supposed to take a lot of people but unfortunately due to circumstances is almost completely empty. There were a couple kids playing basketball on the courts and kids in the skate park but other then that not much. Can definitely see there being a possiblity post covid how this park can be really useful and active within the community.

I like this space. It is more for outdoor sporting activities rather than lounging. It is Summer time and it is active but not crowded. You can find groups of kids participating in their planned sport sponsored by the city, people walking and running around the track, some using the gym apparatus, others are taking in the views while sitting on one of the ample seating provided around the track. In the distance from where I sit, there is a group of mostly middle-aged to senior African-American women doing line dance to the tunes of the Electric slide and the like. The class is free and they are there most weekday mornings from 9 (I think). Right next to the field and track area is the Olympic sized pool. I have not tried it as yet, but seems like people are enjoying that space too... I mean it is a pool after all. Not too far away from here is a sizeable playground and skate park. What more can you ask for? Well... I am going to ask the price of the icy from the cart vendor because today is a hot Summer day.

Love this park. I come here to workout occasionally. It has a massive track, soccer field, outdoor pool (open in the summer), handball, rockwall and basketball courts. There's a small area where you can do some calisthenics, lots of benches to sit at around the track as well as a few seating areas.

All I can say is "WOW!" Very nice updated park and for the most part clean. Some of the kids are absolute nuisances but if you can live with that it's a great park. Shout out the the Domino playing group right at the entrance. Excellent group and full of life and culture.

This is a wonderful park , I go here to exercise , drink coffee and enjoy the beauty of GOD ALMIGHTY'S creation . Today I ride my BAT CYCLE over there and the kids was practicing Football and older people talking and enjoying the day . In the summer this park is even greater. Come to this park and talk to people and have a good time and get along with people, do not bring racism in this park , it will not be tolerated

I really loved the park. I forgot to mention in my last review one of the water fountain and the mister is not working. Otherwise everything is great. The swimming pool is huge and fit for practice. Great park to get fit. There was always a class in session when I went in the mornings.👍

Great Park that not only has a baseball field, soccer field, handball courts, basketball courts and a swimming pool open in the summer months, but also has a track for running and exercise equipment for resistance training.

I love this park. The bathrooms are clean ( not necessarily stocked however), and the track is kept clear as well. It feels new, it’s huge, and overall a great place to workout.

This is a city pool is performing well. The guards here look after you. Despite lifeguard shortage, they’ve found a way to meet the demands of the neighborhood and operate near capacity of the pool. These young men and woman are a fantastic representation of a NYC lifeguards. One thing I must comment on are the lockers and shower room facilities. Can’t really call it a locker room. It looks like a Basketball court with lockers at the perimeters. Perhaps that’s intentional. I implore the community to reach out to local politicians to provide facility upgrades especially the woman’s lockers. The pool is massive! Go next year! They are officially closed for the rest of this year!

Water isn't so deep. No open wounds or else you can't enter pool. Wear a swimsuit. Have a lock for your locker to store your items. Rinse in shower before entering pool. You are allowed to go out in the deep if enough life guards are available or else we can't cross the ropes to swim out further.

You can see that a lot of money was put into renovations and it is beautiful. Didn't see the inside of the pool area but the surrounding outside track, baseball field and b-ball court was magnificent. I hope it gets the proper care and respect it deserves.

Only draw back is when it rains it floods it either needs better drainage or at this point probably just a pump so the grounds people can drain it when if fulls up .very doable in my opinion

Crackhead ville. Bring several guns. Also don't be white, because slavery only ended 4 days ago, according to illiterate BLM members. Slavery was introduced to us by...Africans. enjoy your rage and go read a history book.

I ave not used the pool in 3 summers due to pandemic. But in the past, my pool experience was pleasant. I visited the park portion for the first time They have fake grass in the main area. A rubber coating covers the track area that runs around the main / football field. Both are nice. There is a very nice setup for people who want to work out with gym equipment. However, my main purpose was as an alternative to my local park to walk my dog. There is little to no space for a dog to do their business. Difficult for them to play on the field as people are using it. It has a small basketball and handball court. Of course there is a public bathroom brick house (I didn't look inside). Overall, this park is not for me and my needs. I prefer my local park which is much larger and much more dog friendly.

I want to talk about the track. Apparently the authorities don't think that anyone uses it, year after year, the track is unkempt and we the faithful ones who know that exercise is beneficial to our health, put up with an unkept, hole-riddled track from years of no maintenance. Im living in this area five years now and it's been that way since and who knows, probably longer than that. This track is quite huge, and I'm very much disappointed and upset everytime I come here wheather in the spring, summer or fall. Is it that no one really cares?? Just look at those pictures, and it's all around the track. What a shame. 06/20/23: since my last review, the authorities came in and did a thorough job, they made the track smaller but it's all good. Looks way better than couple years ago. I don't have pictures because I don't live in that area anymore but I'm happy for the residents.

For the most part it's great to have a recreational park like this in walking distance in our community. Just wish the dog owner would clean after their pets they same way people clean after their children; and people who eat and drink should throw their own trash particularly water bottles away. Parks department is already overwhelmed trying to keep up. Display pride in your community please. Otherwise it's a good place to get fit and or just relax. Then there's the free pool next door. #thingstodoinbrownsville

Pretty nice pool. Not too many people there and the view/ aesthetic is kinda nice. They even give you free meals when the pool closes. It's not too fancy though, school lunches, but everyone gets them, including adults, so that's nice. There are a few leaves and other debris in the pool and sometimes I step on them and it's kinda annoying. Also Birds love getting on top of the building and occasionally flying over the pool to poop and then return on top. That happened once while I was swimming. Pretty disgusting. Overall though, I think it's pretty neat here

Only open during summer, so catch the opportunity while it is still open. Bring a lock, tuck or swimsuit and bring an adult with you if you're under 16 because there is security there and there is a line so you have to wait to get inside.

Even though it was a large pool there was some not open but that was fine as there was plenty of space. The life guards were great too.

Not crazy about this park it's clean but there's a lot of weird men that hang out over there, disrespectful and invade space. They have a pool for children and basketball court, a track to excercise but if you're new to the area and you're a woman or young lady be alert be aware. It's Brownsville for crying out loud. They see a new face the predators come out. If you live in the community the rift raft won't bother you I guess. From my observation. I try to go to clear my head and get grounded but the weird men always harassing me so I stopped going for a while.

I like this park especially the track. I usually walk sind it but you get a good workout in. Also they do football games and other sports there as well. They also have some type of fitness equipment in the park you can use to workout.

My Dad was a baseball coach to my two brothers here at Besty Head in the early 70's and afterwards we use to head over to the pool. Awesome memories!!!! But I must say this park is beautiful 😍 GREAT JOB!!!!

It was a sad experience. There's so much trash and broken glass and cigarette butts all over the running open air track. Also people smoking cigarettes on benches several inches from the running track which is an insult to all the walkers and runners trying to live a healthy life. Second hand smoke kills. Majority of the people in Brownsville smoke cancer sticks go figure?

There is plenty of room to play any sport of any kind minus hockey. The pool is really big and you can play basketball on two full Courts. The restroom is connected to the pool which is closed right now. There is a little park near by that reminds me of a cross between tree houses and A playground that had porta potties when I was there if that helps you.

One of the cleanest parks I've been to in a while. Enjoyed a quick pick up basketball game and watched and supported my daughter during her soccer match. Beautiful area.

I like it waaaaaay better before they renovated it. The best part about it is the pool. The only good thing they added was the with out equipment. Everything else they changed is trash, especially the playground. There's only 2 swings in a huge park

This pool was a pleasant surprise for me. The staff was well organized and I was especially happy to see several lockeroom attendants in the area. Bags were search and signage was posted before entering indicating what could be brought inside. They also had enough lifeguards who were friendly and also alert. In addition there were a couple of officers assigned. Overall I felt very safe and comfortable. I will definitely be returning before the end of the pool season.
