Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Ella. Avoid going to the big factory tea plantations and instead visit this local tea garden to learn all about how they make their organic black, green and white tea. They taught us so much about the tea making process and gave us many samples to try. Thank you!!

10/10. An amazing experience. The farmer is a very pleasant man who explains in detail how the tea is grown. You get to see how the tea is grown, picked and processed. He will prepare in front of you black, green and white tea, all from the same plant. You will also get to taste his products, including home grown coffee and kithul honey.

We had a great time on site. The owner and his family took a lot of time for us and explained the whole process of tea production. We learnt a lot and saw how passionately this plantation is run by the 3rd generation. In the meantime, there was a tasting and it was great to taste how good and varied green tea can taste. We can only recommend these 2 hours to anyone who is enthusiastic about tea.

Only full 5 Star ratings on Google always seem a bit fishy first - but this one truly deserves it! The host and his beautiful family couldn’t have been nicer and the tour and knowledge shared on his plantation were absolutely beautiful. I can fully recommend visiting the tea garden and would do it again anytime I am in Sri Lanka.

A wonderful experience to meet an organic farmer and his family. We really enjoyed learning about the organic tea production and the different processes. The farmer was a great guide. Best visit in Ella! Don’t miss this oppurtunity if you are in Ella.

I’ve been to a few tea classes/ farms and this is a wonderful experience. Got to learn so much about tea from a local in his family’s backyard. It is pricier than other tea tours in the area but it is a more intimate experience.

Very nice and informative tour around Christen private organic tea garden. He showed us his fruits, spices, tea and many more! Plenty to learn about tea and the process of tea production - and also a lot to taste! I recommend everyone to make this tour if you are in Ella. Make sure to grab a scooter or tuktuk so you can easily access the small farm. Best black tea ever!!! Thank you :)

You have to go here. This is a local, family business. Everything is done by hand. Tea picking and process is explained very well. We got to taste all kinds of tea. They also gave us lemon bananas and jackfruit as a snack. Explained what he grows on his land. Very fair price. He would like to buy a drying machine next to dry his tea during rainy season. At the end he called us a tuk tuk back to Ella town. Must visit and highlight in Ella! Ps when it rains, beware of the leeches but not to worry Christeen has spray and will take care of you
