Great place to stop during hikes and bike rides if you need to refuel before hitting the trails again. Parking nearby, not worth a stop without some nature first or after. Casual, family- and (well behaved) dog-friendly. Staff were very kind to me and spoke English once they realized I am horrible with German. I will be recommending this place to my colleagues!

Lovely destination for the family. Great place to take a long walk, then drink a coffee and eat fresh bread and pastries. The kids love the donkeys and chickens.

On my last day in Germany, we went for a hike through a beautiful forest and ate at the quaint Eselmühle restaurant that had so many delicious, healthy and affordable food options. In fact, the majority of the menu was designated as "Demeter", regarded as the highest standards for organic or biodynamic food in the world. My meal tasted so fresh and divine...it was out if this world!!

Beautiful spot to have breakfast, or coffee, or just a break during hiking. There is a bakery on site, they also sell coffee, fruits, local organic vegetables and arts and crafts. Plenty of animals walking around, such as chicken, donkeys, horses... Just a beautiful little escape. Highly recommended.

Top location for a weekend bike ride in summer. Good food, good beer and great surroundings of nature. With donkeys roaming around and green wherever you look, you will be relaxed here.

Good place to stop on a bike trip for something to drink and/or eat. There’s a bakery with freshly made pastries and a small souvenir shop. Easily accessible by bike and vehicle as there is a parking lot within walking distance. Don’t forget to say hello to the roosters, hens, and donkeys!

Absolutely beautiful area, friendly people and wonderful food. What's not to love?!
