The Paterzell Eibenwald is a mixed forest near Weilheim. An approximately 1 km long yew path leads through the forest. Information boards provide information about the yew trees growing there. The parking lot is free. Conclusion: highly recommended.

Beautiful shady forest for hot days. A small stream in the first part and the Zellsee in the further course. Some of the small paths are poorly signposted, but with intuition (or a map 😉) you can find the small paths.

Beautiful path through the yew forest, past streams and strangely grown old yew trees, to Zellsee and, if you want, back via Paterzell to the hiking car park. There are also places to stop for refreshments near Paterzell (Gut Moosmühle + Gasthof Eibenwald).

This forest is no doubt absolutely stunning in the summer or fall. We caught it with the first snow.

Completely overcrowded hiking parking lot. The path through the yew forest seems like a demonstration mile; it has been trodden by countless visitors who have robbed the forest of the peace and magic it once had. Was there again just yesterday. It seemed to me like I was in a curiosity show where the masses of people are fed into the forest. Most of the visitors there would probably be hopelessly lost in a forest with no signposts.

A lovely walk through the Yew tree forest, with interesting information about the trees and how they grow. In early autumn, it is especially lovely. There are some unusual water features at this time of the year too. Good place to go for an hour or so to be in nature and learn a thing or two about these trees.

The food was not up to standard, but expensive. I can't recommend it

(Translated by Google) If you love mystical things, this is the place for you. In the midst of wonderful old yew trees, whose trunks and roots show up in a variety of unique forms, you soon feel transported to an enchanted forest. Yew trees have so many legends and scary stories attached to them, and with your imagination you can actually see faces and other things in the trunks. Of course you have to take some time for this and let the atmosphere sink in. A magical place and definitely worth seeing. A bit difficult to reach by public transport, as you have to walk about 2 km along a busy road from Zellsee. If you are arriving by car, there are parking spaces directly in front of the entrance to the Eibenwald.
