Had a wonderful first date at this establishment. Delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Veggie options available. They also granted me my wish of a mild dish. Highly recommend their lemon iced tea.

Great Mexican food but you have to order wisely! I have been to this establishment many times, however during my last visit the food was simply underwhelming. I ordered and was excited about fajitas with pieces or Argentinian steak, however I could not even finish them since they were very oily and blunt, not even extra seasoning helped. Additionally the meat was dry and chewy, something I didn’t expect at all.I have had good experience in the past, therefore I will come back, but I won’t order fajitas for sure! Sweet potato fries as an appetizer was a good choice, but it was the drinks that salvaged the day! Sangria was super delicious, but also quite pricey (nearly 8 EUR for a 0,3l glass that was mostly filled with ice cubes) and the home made lemonade was very refreshing! Overall this place is quite expensive for what it is. There are cheaper and dare I say better Mexican restaurants in Mainz. I absolutely enjoyed the service though! All of the waitresses serving us were super friendly, talkative, attentive and seemed like they enjoyed their job which made a huge difference to me as a customer. I don’t understand why this place does not offer an English menu, there are so many foreigners in the city and yet not even the online menu via QR code is not in English! The service was great, I had one of their burrito bowls some type of bowl, it was tasty. My husband had the fajitas he wasn't impressed, first time eating shredded carrots in fajitas. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food maybe the Taco's would be a better choice, they looked amazing.

Definitely the best food we ate. We ordered the quesadillas with chicken, the nachos with barbacoa and the chili con carne tacos. After we finished eating we were shocked on how good the food was. The drinks were really bad, the alcoholic drink tasted wrong and the iced tee was just water, but still I’m gonna give it five stars because the food was THAT good. You should definitely make a reservation

The food is tasty and the service was quick. The waitress was very friendly and showed availability.

Very poor service. I ordered salsa verde but got just sour cream in a small bowl. They didn’t come for the order. They forgot knife and fork and napkins. One waiter was very rude. Said she finished work and was gonna call another one. Ingredients in the burrito was fresh and after asking for hot sauce the taste was good. The lemonade tamarind 4.20€ was not worth it. Over all 17.5 € for this … I don’t think it’s worth it. The tortilla chips is cold taken out of a bag from any supermarket . 20% of them where broken. I should give this place 1 star but because of the taste of the burrito I would go there again.

Amazing food, great portions, great location and lovely hospitality!

Reservations using Google about 30 mins before showing up on a Sunday afternoon. Walk-in were also welcomed in as they showed up. Staff was friendly, spoke English, and attentive. Food was great, best Tex-Mex we’ve had in Germany so far. Highly recommend.

Had a great dinner with my group of twelve, the drinks kept flowing and our food arrived quickly. The staff is awesome and the food was very good. I had the taco foursome.

Good food and cozy atmosphere. I’ve been here a couple of times and I’m usually treated very nicely. Nevertheless, last time the waitress was very rude.

The food was delicious, the prices are normal and the portions are big both on food and drinks. The stuff was really kind and helpful and always with a smile. Overall the experience was great. We're definitely gonna come back! Totally recommended!

The place is super nice and cozy. The food is the european interpretations of what Mexican food is, but inside this category is tasty. The cocktails are really tasty and well done. But be prepared that is strong, or better said, is a real cocktail. I recommend the place.

Very nice Mexican restaurant. There are many dishes and drinks to choose from. I had hard shell Tacos and they were amazing. Definitely you should try the Tamarind-Lemon drink. Its amaing and unique. A friend had Chimichanga. That was nice as well. Would definitely recommend. And staff is very friendly as well. 5/5

Cool spot, but the food wasn't that great. Not nearly enough meat, I had to shred it a few more times to make sure every chip had a sliver of meat on it.

I have eaten here twice and enjoyed it immensely.

Good place to eat mexican food. The restaurant itself is big, composed of different rooms with tables were to eat. They have a terrace too, that during winter is enclosed and has heaters, so you can eat “outside” if you want. When we went we didn’t wanted too but the only available tavles were there, so we had to eat there. This is the main reason I have not to give the 5 stars. Because the food itself was excellent mexican food. Nice nachos with cheese and nice burrito! My colleage took a bowl but Was not the best of the dinner. The burritos were really good. Pricewise really good price for the amount of food. Actually just with the burrito was enough for a good dinner so the price could have been even better. I will go back and try the fajitas or the chilly with meat.

Great selection of glutenfree and vegan dishes! The staff seemed very knowledgeable about allergens and had no issues accommodating us. The food and their vegan horchata were delicious, and they are also dog-friendly. Their patio was also toasty even when it was freezing outside. We will definitely be back.

It's not easy finding good Mexican restaurants here in Germany but El Burro is definitely up there! Good flavours and fresh produce can make all the difference and thankfully El Burro serves up both. Highly recommend if you're looking for a satisfying meal in Mainz👍

Hardshell tacos were really good and the staff is amazing. Went there for a spontaneous lunch and was not disappointed.

Recommendable 100%! Nice and sympathetic staff, the cocktails are amazing ( i tried margarira and mojito), the food is very well done. One of my favorite mex restaurants to be honest. One feedback though: i would have appreciated an english menu. It is a small detail and did not harm the overral experience!! Recommended 100%!!!

Friendly welcome, not afraid to speak the language (English and Spanish ) Excellent interaction with the customers. Different flavors in the foods available and plenty of it. The decor and atmosphere very pleasant and inviting. The Beef fajitas were soft and plenty of onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and carrots. The black beans and real tortillas to make burritos filled with the veggies 😋. Different from Mexican fajitas in their own right,but nonetheless tasty.

Wonderful mexican restaurant with some Spanish contaminations. Some plates are very well executed (TOP pimientos del padron), bowls, tacos and burritos are good! Will come back next time in Mainz!

Just wow. Steffi spoke great English and offered the best customer service we have had in a long time. The food was delicious and arrived very fast. The atmosphere was also very nice. I will definitely be coming back. This restraunt deserves a perfect 5/5 in all categories imaginable.
