Main Entrance for Udawalawe National Park for Safari Jeeps. Ticket counter opens at 6 in the morning. You can find a Safari Jeep at here but better if you can book in advance. Udawalawe is good place to see Elephants at close range. There are Toilet Facilities at the Ticket Counter. Popular among Bird Watchers as a Birding Hotspot but better enter to the park at 6 AM as at that time birds are very active.

One of the best national park to see elephants & birds. I was able to see 65+ bird species & more than 30+ elephants including 2 tuskers within 4 hours.

Very nice National park with not too many jeeps. We had a really nice safari with a very good guide. Would recommend to book the safari at a local company (you can find them on google/TripAdvisor/GetYourGuide) and ask them if they can arrange a accommodation. Most of the accommodations in Udawalawa are very very cheap but when you stay there you also have to do the safari with them, even though you don’t know the price and quality.

It was great. But this safari agency. They won’t let tour guides in to the jeep. Thats so unfair. Not a issues with tickets inside can get. It was great morning to with wildlife. Elephants,crocodiles,lots of birds.
