I absolutely loved my stay at Villa Sunsea. ROOMS: The building is relatively new (I was one of their first guests). The rooms were clean and very spacious (big beds!). My room had a private bathroom with hot shower which was really nice. All rooms have access to balconies and the access to the roof is nice for your morning routines like yoga or just chilling at night looking at the stars. Bed sheets and towels were changed frequently. There is a common table where you can eat and a small kitchen for cooking. There is good WiFi and a big table to get some work done. LOCATION: It’s a short 3min ride from downtown Ahangama towards the inland of the island which I personally preferred. There is a small shop right besides where you can get drinks and snacks. Definitely get a scooter to get around, which you should do in any case. HOST: The host family was so nice and hospitable! Almost every day the family provided some small treat like tea, roti, a bit of curry. The owner arranged a scooter for a good price and helped me a bunch of times when I needed help in no time (locked my scooter key inside the scooter seat 🫠). PRICE: I checked a bunch of places in the area but found the price of the room (with ensuite bathroom) very fair compared to other places around. Overall I can say that this place made my stay in Ahangama and my trip to Sri Lanka so much more memorable because of the nice large room (was staying in dorms before) and the lovely family who is around but does not bother you and gives you privacy - but comes here and there with little local treats. They even arranged a goodbye dinner for me - I felt like a welcomed and integrated guest in their lives and I will surly miss them a lot :’)

Very kind and hospitable family. They are on the first floor, guests are on the second floor. There is access to the roof for stargazing. Two rooms with private bathrooms, two rooms with shared bathroom. I recommend it👍
