I found Singh’s to be surprisingly good, especially considering how there were only two other tables occupied at dinner time. They started everyone out with a small cup of cauliflower soup, which was nicely seasoned. We started with samosas, which were tasty and served hot right out of the fryer. I had the saffron fish entrée and asked for hot, and it came out super hot temperature-wise and spiced just right. And on the side, the onion paratha was great, totally stuffed with onions. The service gets a solid “A” for attentiveness without obtrusiveness. With a daughter at Wellesley College, I’ll definitely be back.

Pretty room, delicious food at Singh's Cafe. The dining room is down a few steps, so feels very cosy and pleasant. We have dined there many times over the years, and always have been delighted. After we ordered dinner the waiter brought each one of us a small bowl of spinach soup, a treat and nice way to start. Lamb samosas were hot and came with a tray of condiments to make them spicier or add a little sweetness. That's a popular appetizer and can be vegetarian. In fact, it is easy to stay with vegetable dishes for the whole meal. Lamb Korma and chicken in dal sauce were delicious. You can order whatever level of spiciness that you prefer, from mild to really, really hot. The waitstaff is friendly and efficent. The room is pretty, and the table is set nicely, with authentic thalis, metal plates. Very sanitary. Singh's has a liquor license. There's plenty of street parking. Singh's was doing a brisk takeout business for customer pickup and the delivery services. As mentioned, the dining room is down a few steps from the street level, so is not handicap accessible for a wheelchair. There is a buffet at lunch every day of the week. They take reservations, but the dining room has not been very full these days.

My family and I went here for dinner. The quality food is OK. I felt the quantity of food in the dish is much less, compared to its price. The dishes seem to be over-priced. They serve daal, calling it lentil soup, as complimentary. The restaurant had inexperienced waiters. We ordered paneer korma which we didnt like at all. The lamb Rogan Josh was good. Peshawari naan was too sweet and aloo paratha seemed burnt. I felt the food at Punjab Palace in Brookline, which also serves North Indian food, is much better and tastier, and less expensive.

Good food here. Taste wise Singh’s cafe is unmatched in and around the Boston area for Indian food. I think the prices are relatively higher than what you’d find elsewhere. The staff are super helpful with their guidance on ordering. We love the Samosas from here. Their peshawari naan and Kulfi are also quite a delight for those with a sweet tooth. You should definitely try the cocktails here that are made with an Indian twist. Overall, our group was very satisfied with the food at Singh’s.

Nice place. Staff not really excited to see anyone. No explanation of menu and one word responses really makes it hard to rate other than average. I ordered a dish medium spicy and my guest ordered something with mild flavoring. They gave me mild on my dish. Shoulder shrug is not a good response.

I have tried the Indian buffets in the Waltham and Newton areas. This buffet is much better compared to those. In my opinion, this place has better (stronger) seasoning compared to other watered down Indian restaurants in the area. The tandoori chicken is kept hotter and is juicier, and the mutton curry is stronger in taste and more tender. They even have chai tea as part of the buffet, whereas other restaurants do not. The place was packed on a Friday for lunch, whereas the other buffets in Waltham and Newton either have nobody, or only offer buffets on weekends.

I have been here for the lunch buffet, sit down dinner, and have used Singh’s for catering. All of the food is excellent. The lunch buffet is definitely a good value. they have a nice outdoor patio when the weather is nice.

I had driven by this place a couple of times and was curious. My aunt and I love to try new Indian food spots so we decided to give it a go. Initially parking was a bit tough because there were meters but also signs saying we couldn't park there. I decided to risk it and park anyways, which worked out fine in the end I didn't get a ticket. The restaurant itself is extremely comfortable and cozy, while tables are still socially distanced. The food was absolutely divine. We had the veggie samosa starter and then I had the butter chicken and my aunt had the chicken curry. We also ordered a naan bread. The flavors in the curry were perfect and the naan was huge and soft and melts in your mouth. Another top option for Indian food in the area

Very good experience. Went there during the buffet lunch on a Saturday. First time there and nothing disappointed me. Enough variety of items. Some dishes were very good while others were okayish which is fine specially in a buffet. Surprisingly the Ras Malai was way too good. Haven’t eaten such an awesome ras malai in years. Would suggest them to keep the food warm though. Recommend to try it out for sure. Value for money

Who knows how their food is, my order never arrived! An hour after I placed an order through GrubHub, I got a call from GrubHub saying their driver had arrived to find my order had already been picked up, and did it get delivered? Of course it didn’t, and I think they knew that. The rep calls back and says she spoke to the restaurant & unfortunately their kitchen is already closed so they can’t re-make my order. So now I get to wait a week for a refund. Way to go, Singh’s cafe!

First they said they didn't have our reserved table. Then they asked if we could only stay for 30 min for dinner, we said no! They did end up seating us, but they definitely were trying to rush us. Hot the mixed appetizer. Food was dry and everything tasted the same. Friend ordered the mixed tandoori grill. It came 3 minutes after they put the appetizer down. All of the meat was over cooked and dried out. 10-15 min later my meal came out with the garlic Naan. The Naan was ok, and my chicken karma was ok. When we told the waitress about the dried out meat, she said, yeah it cooks in an oven and gets like that?!? Service was good, but disappointed with the food. Hadn't been to singhs in a while and maybe it was an off night for them as they were crazy busy. I'll try again, not on a Saturday night.

The food is always delicious (and quick to arrive) and I love the homey atmosphere inside. It's not too busy and is a great weekend dinner out destination (especially for the college students in the area, though I'm sure everyone will enjoy it).

Delicious, perfectly priced food. Clean and beautiful restaurant to eat in. Wide variety of vegetarian options, prompt and friendly service. I got a vegetable curry and naan. The naan was thicker than I am used to but I was still very good and very obviously homemade in the restaurant. The vegetables were cooked very well and so was the rice. It could have been spicier, but I suspect they went light on my spice based on general demographic preferences (read: white). This won't be a problem next time though — I'll definitely be back and I will be asking for even spicier than "very spicy." Under $20 per entree but if you get sides it takes you to the $20-25 range.

Indian food is so underrated. Everything I got here was incredible. I got the paneer tikka masala, garlic naan, malai kofta and rice. Maybe the best sauce I’ve ever had, it is addicting. 10/10 for me!

Buffet lunch for $18 is totally worth it considering the fact that most dishes cost above $13 when bought separately at most restaurants. The potato and garlic soup was excellent. Chicken gravy, Mutton masala and Chilli chicken were also very good. Dessert was delicious. The ambience was good and staff were courteous. There was free street parking for two hours. Keep going.
