Arguably the best service in Orpington, the staff here are amazing. So friendly, welcoming, helpful and attentive. Went here with my wife and 1 year old and had a super brunch. Pancakes for me and avacado on toast for the lady. Sublime. The premises is clean, tidy and can fit decent groups. At the back is a wicked record store with an outstanding selection of artists. I spent a good few minutes flipping through just the B section. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is thoroughly enjoyable. Big plus for having unisex bathrooms with baby changing, which as a dad, makes a big difference to an outing. Kudos.

A lovely family run restaurant and record store. Went here for breakfast. Had butternut squash on toast which comes with butterbean hummus, spinach, a roasted tomato and mushroom, then sprinkled with flaked almonds (£10.80). I added an extra side of smashed avocado as a treat (£3.70) and breakfast cocktail of espresso martini (£9.20). The hosts make you feel so welcome. Its my second time visiting and it was just as wonderful as the first. I do recommend getting their app there are great rewards available.

Reserved a table and needed to. Wednesday lunchtime was busy. People wanting great tasting food, friendly servers, good jokes and explaining everything e.g. where to buy the handwash from, this is your place! We felt so welcome and ordered well. Mackerel to die for with fresh produce couldn't have asked for more. Decided on a dessert ended up eating my other halfs as well as mine! So fresh and not sickly sweet. So good 5/5! Family run, positive vibes. Will defo go back!

There is a great team at The Orpington. Wonderful food, atmosphere and service. Fantastic at catering to dietary restrictions and host very fun unique events. We enjoyed their Halloween themed evenings this week, really fun, well balanced meal and cocktail options. So happy to recommend Scott and the team at The Orpington.

Very lovely and chic café. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. Had a lovely lunch with my friend. The cocktails are very good too. The negroni tasted better than some I've had on other bars. Will definitely visit again

I have been wanting to try The Orpington for some time now, as the reviews were very good and I have to say it did not disappoint. From the moment myself and my husband walked in, the welcoming and the service was impeccable. The staff were very polite and friendly. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, with great music. And we love that it's a record shop too. The food was amazing. You can tell that the ingredients are really fresh. It was well presented and just delicious. The coffee is lovely too. I would say for what you get, the prices are reasonable. I would happily pay those prices for good quality food and excellent service all day long and that's certainly what we got from The Orpington. We can't wait to go back and try something different on the menu. We would highly recommend. And please be polite to the staff, they are lovely. We noticed a few diners who forgot their manners.

What a pleasant breakfast I had there ! As the very basic tourist I am I HAD to get the classing English breakfast, and it was a BANGER ! The avocado toast was also delicious. The breakfast tea + oat milk is literally the best I ever had, the waiters are sooo kind and playful, music is great, I'll definitely come back next time I visit UK !

What a wonderful place. We had the best almond croissant we've ever tasted - huge and filled with an amazing filling. I would have posted a photo of them, but there weren't any left at the counter! Service was top-notch, lovely atmosphere, and we enjoyed the really comfortable and stylish furniture. Would definitely come back, even though it's out of our way.

Wonderful place, the staff are attentive, professional, courteous, and caring. You will not find better cafe service, and there is a happy, easy and relaxed atmosphere - even the staff give off the feeling that they are happy to be there. The music is varied and ambient enough to provide an unintrusive background. The cafe itself is stylish, clean, and sectioned carefully to cater to multiple types of customer at once without overlap. Food and drinks are of a high quality, it may be on the pricier side for some but is worth every penny.

Actually the BEST brunch in Bromley and probably in South London. Great service and EXCELLENT coffee. Closed on Sundays, but they serve all day brunch all other days of the week. Totally recommended

This place has been a regular lunchtime treat of mine for a while. The food is always top notch, there’s invariably great music playing while you wait but what truly sets it apart is the service. The staff will remember your name, what you like to order, make recommendations based on what you’ve had before. It’s always nice to be served with a smile but when staff can preempt your requests and without fuss make sure you’re getting exactly what you want, that is truly next level! Thanks very much guys!

I stumbled across this cafe/record shop while having a wander down Orpington high street. I had dropped my car off at a local garage for its MOT and took a stroll through the high street. Being a vinyl fan I couldn’t help but investigate. I wasn’t disappointed. Also, being one of those annoying people who doesn’t eat animal products I asked for something to eat to fit my diet and they were very accommodating. All in all a great experience. I shall definitely be returning when I get the opportunity.

We went for dinner on Valentine's day which was a very enjoyable first visit to The Orpington. Scott and Amy both made us feel very welcome. Importantly, the food was exceptionally good and worthy of a high-end restaurant.

Always a pleasure to eat at the Orpington. Took the whole family for breakfast this week and as usual the staff go above and beyond, even going out to get extra soya milk for my wife who is lactose intolerant. And my teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed thumbing through the vinyls.

Just the kind of place that we need on the high street! Lovely healthy tasty food, great vinyl records and really friendly staff. Perfect.

What a lovely restaurant with added bonus of vinyl records for sale. Wonderful super friendly service, good music and delicious food and really really good coffee too. The best decaf cappuccino with oat milk I have ever had before. Thank you. I shall be back. p.s. Trying to think of an occasion so we can use your private dining room.

Really welcoming cafe, the breakfast was great and really tasty and the staff were really nice. My first time here and I will certainly go back however the reason for the 4 stars and not 5 stars was just because I thought it was just a tad expensive. PS - loved the music, they got the vibe just right!

I absolutely love this place. Great food, great coffee, great prices, friendly and helpful staff, unique atmosphere for the area and it’s got a fun addition of a record shop down the back, I love having a look through them when I’m waiting for my food. I can’t fault The Orpington, it’s the best cafe for far and wide.

Excellent café, using great coffee from Workshop. Good food, too. Plus a decent selection of vinyl records to peruse and purchase. Not the cheapest place but very good quality.

Truly lovely cafe - best service we’ve experienced in years.. genuinely friendly helpful discrete. Food was good value, healthy, well cooked, tasty and nice touches - pleasant background music. Enjoyed perusing the LPs on sale.

I had such a wonderful time going to the Orpington! I feel lucky we are locals to a place like this. The menu is a sophisticated take on classics. Everything is homemade and fresh, with an attention to detail in each dish. Music was great. Beer menu, excellent. I had a salt beef sandwich and it was perfect. We both wanted to order the whole menu and are looking forward to coming back. Scott also seems to care about his team, and that matters. To anyone saying it's a bit pricey: You get what you pay for, and that's never been more true than here. High quality, locally sourced ingredients with well thought-out menus, and a warm and personable experience.

We visited the Orpington for lunch after driving past quite a few times. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. A great addition to Orpington , our new regular! The record section is a great touch and we are excited to try the rest of menu!

Took my son for a birthday lunch with some of his toddler friends and their parents. Not the easiest crowd with toddlers on board but Scott and his team were absolutely lovely and efficient in catering for our big group. Food was delicious and atmosphere great. Will definitely be back and highly recommend. Thanks for a great lunch :)
