Review for the Canning Town branch . I ordered through Uber eats . Egusi never came although I paid for it . Jollof rice made with long grain rice and burnt . It was disgusting , the efo had a weird smell. This was such a awful order to the point where I drove myself to the branch to complain in person . You wouldn’t eat this yourself or your family then why sell such nasty food .

I am a proud Caucasian Egusi Connoisseur. By far the best Nigerian dishes I've had in London. I've been coming here for 10 years now and the quality has remained the same. Top notch! No compromise. Thank you Squires!

This squires personally is the best in East London the one in Canning town is trash. Abula her is 7.5 I really enjoy it, I would recommend having big pieces of meat rather than having them in small cuts as we are adults eating here not children. Amala Is always so smooth and fresh, plus the service is always a 10/10.

Superb experience, Damilola & the staff last night were brilliant at the East Ham branch on the Barking Rd. The ambience was perfect, pounded yam, egusi soup, assorted meat washed down with Origin beer was 👏. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE SQUIRES RESTAURANT AT CANNING TOWN. IT DESERVES NO STAR. IT IS A TOTAL DUMP, EVEN IF THE FOOD WAS FREE, PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE TREATED THAT BAD.

We had a little issue with our order but the owner was very helpful and so kind. Food is delicious and would definitely order again! Customer service is brilliant and definitely appreciated their effort to rectify the matter! I would recommend ordering in the restaurant rather than online!

The "owner" just responded that there is no Sadiq in their East Ham branch. I ordered my food from East Ham branch and NOT canning town branch. Unless your worker gave a fake name. At least you know the number of staff on duty...not many staff for you to check. I just ordered 2 plates of egusi and ogbolo soup. The ogbono was smelling and tasting extremely soured on arrival. I called and spoke to their staff called Sadiq. He was extremely insensitive asking me "what do you want me to do"? The only option is for you to order more food and I will add another soup. Whilst it is not so much about the money, good customer service and being sensitive to the situation could have helped. This staff Saddiq showed no ounze of sensitivity. Perhaps Squires restaurant can send him on training on customer service

Correct Naija feel....food was great in Barking road! Ambience just right.... Ah, that asun and suya was da bomb! The plan was to pack up the second Abula, but it didn't last another minute😜

I made a visit to the try the food at the Barking Road branch with a friend of mine. I had the Okro-Ogbono soup with beef and pounded yam. The other options were assorted meats (including shaki/tripe) and fish however, the beef option was plenty enough for me. The food is warm, flavourful and has a perfect amount of spice. It was perfect for my taste palette as I enjoy spicy food. The staff explained the meat and fish options to me clearly and were friendly to us. I recommend you to have a try if you're ever near Canning Town in East London! PS. We had a conversation with a lady whilst waiting for our meal and she clarified to me that Nigerian people eat there regularly so thats how you know its lit.

Personal experience has been 8.5 out of 10. I have been eating there for a few years now and they havent let me down. Always well packed and when i eat in, its a vibe. Since nothing is perfect, hence the 8.5. I definitely recommend especially to those who miss yoruba home cooking...and those who dare add flavour to their lives.

Yet again a typical Nigerian establishment with typical Nigerian service which is not good enough. The restaurant looks run down and no effort seems to have been made to try to modernise it. So sad because the food is relatively ok. This is the East Ham branch.

This place is honestly the worst Nigerian food I have ever tried! (Canning town branch not barking road). Firstly the food is bland as hell… almost like they forgot to season it (both red stew and ayamase) … the meat is either dry or just fat and gristle… the rice wayyy over cooked, any softer and it would be baby food! The jollof was burnt! The whole thing had that burnt flavour…. The asun… all bone. The only edible bit was the egg and plantain that came with the rice. Never eating here again!! If you like Nigerian food, I suggest you don’t either! Absolute joke that they claim to be cooking authentic Nigerian cuisine. Even my 12 year old Nigerian daughter can cook better food than this!

First time buying beef egusi and fufu, saw on social media it was really tasty gave it a try, it looked and tasted like old meat, althouh the sauces and juices were great, i think it would taste way better if it were to be cooked fresh out of the pot, but every coin has another side, likewise a resturant that is getting little customers must need to retain dishes to save money, but i believe they can do much better, maybe have more marketing methods, advertise your food on media, entise and persuade customers that you are truely the best african cuisine out in East Ham, try methods like facebook, instagram and tiktok. At the heart of every business and life source to a healthy business are their customers, thats all I have to say, hats off to you guys trying ur best and God be with you brother

Party of 5 and at least 3 of us got really bad food poisoning. As we were eating my friend said their food was turning and we all found out the hard way the next day. Will never return

Ordered a meal and was told the cost only to realise that I was charged 10 pounds extra. I have been contacting the restaurant over a week and no response. I will update with outcome.

I can’t even rate this place. Very very very bad customer service. Spoke to a staff to report an issue on their Uber eats page and his responses were very derogatory. Shameful!
