This place is lovely. It's a great easy location for us to meet with friends. Comfortable, clean and stylish setting and the staff are very helpful, friendly and attentive. We were a table of 5 and the speed of service was excellent. Food was great tasting with a good selection on offer. Wide range of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, with cocktails and mocktails also available. Car park with big enough and I've never had a problem parking here.

Took some of our local clients here for an end of year lunch and it was lovely. Christmas decorations looked so nice, and the open fireplaces really make it cosy. Service was excellent and we had a great table - nice Christmas touches. The waiting staff were very friendly and efficient even though the place was really full! (Good on them for getting it all done smoothly.) The food was great, and a good mix of 'pub grub' and restaurant-style choices. Would definitely recommend.

Nice pub, what you would expect from a red lion. Food menu is larger than most. Burgers, classic mains, scallops, burgers, pizza and steaks plus the healthy salads and main options too. There really is a lot to choose from. I tried the koftas for starters. No picture, didn't really deserve one if I'm honest. The salad was nice but was sort of plonked on the plate. The kofta was dry and was actually just 3 meatballs on sticks. Forgot my sides, the crispy pork belly was OK. The fish and chips were good. Nothing overwhelming or outstanding. Supremely average however there was a very good bar keep! She was young and lived on a boat. She's a star, very good service. I shall return just to see if the menu should reach as far as it says! I really hope it does as its such a lovely pub.

Lovely pub for a good pint, cocktails were nice too. Dessert was on another level - recommend the lotus bomb. Will have to go back for the linguine.

We were a party of 15 who went to Red Lion for a business social. Stephen and his staff did a tremendous job at looking after us. They were patient, attentive and very friendly. The food was great too and everyone was very happy with the experience. Thank you SO much!

I DJ’d and supplied a saxophonist for The Red Lion on New Years Eve and the hospitality that was supplied was superb. Stephen the manager and all the staff were really accommodating, and the food, well take a look for yourself, that was lovely! Thanks again for making work such an enjoyment, hopefully we can do the same again soon! 😁

Service was slow. We came for the festive menu and we’re given regular menus, no Christmas themed table stuff, had to ask for festive menus and the child we had with us was given a cracker at the end. Food was okay. Baked creamy mushrooms were watery with little seasoning. Roast turkey was nice but more gravy needed. Desserts were the best part. Quite pricey for what it was

I went out on our works Xmas dinner, the food was amazing the service was fantastic. We did have to wait an hour past our booking time because there wasn't a table free but the manager was super kind and made it all work for us. Very friendly staff & manager, will definitely being going there again. Thank you for making our Christmas night a wonderful & memorable night out 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

All the service was excellent, the only issue was the time it took for the drinks to arrive. We ordered drinks when we ordered our meals & we had finished our starter before our drinks arrived. This soured the meal as this was a birthday celebration. After spending just short of £100 this was a big black mark on the total service score given.

Unfortunately no images of the food as I came here for a customer lunch, but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the meal. I had a fillet steak which was cooked perfectly. Also didn't take long for the food to be served. Service was friendly and attentive. Would come back if in the area.

Came here for a roast on the way back from a weekend get away. Excellent roasts. I had the trio of meats and my friend the pork roast. Both were well liked. Good balance of portion size and variety on the plate (could have been a splash more gravy). Service was quick and polite. We would return here for the roast again.

The whole Brunch with Santa was fantastic! Really enjoyed it and will definitely be booking for 2024! The service was a little slow and while we appreciated it was busy we felt it could have been a little faster. However, the staff were all lovely. The food was also delicious

Nice place for a chilled drink in a very pleasant, modern environment with a large garden. Food menu looks up-market although we didn't try it. However, it was identical to that at another recent visit to the Cowper Arms in Hertford so presumably it's part of a pub chain. Nothing wrong with that though because the food was excellent there.

Came for a Christmas get together with family, Hattie served us and was very friendly and efficient, along with the other girls that helped her. We’ve been served by Hattie before and she is always very good. The food was very tasty and enjoyed by all! We’ll be coming back again!

Their food was very tasty and the staff was really friendly. There were many types of food items which were affordable for everyone. It's always busy but the atmosphere is relaxed and their food is delicious. Their food is of high quality and the desserts are amazing. Overall this is a great place to go with family, friends, clients anyone. Very good experience.

We had a great visit thank you. We were served well and the food was well cooked and plentiful. We had a starter and a roast main course. No way could we tackle a dessert! Loved the decor and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.

We had a lovely brunch at the Red Lion today. I booked in advance and asked for 2 high chairs in the booking, however the table they had given us was too high for the high chairs as it was a bar height table. However we were moved to a regular height table and that worked really well. The staff were really quick to take our order but then it took a while to arrive. However the food was really delicious and worth a bit of a wait. Between the 6 of us we tried most things on the brunch menu and everyone thorough enjoyed their food - toddlers included!

A very enjoyable meal in a busy but relaxing environment. The service is quick without being rushed and friendly. The quality of the food is great and the desserts inventive. Overall a very good experience and excellent value for money.

It was my first time at the red lion. The outside looked nice and we were warmly welcomed inside to our table. The 6 of us had three courses and each one was delicious. The Yorkshire puddings in the Sunday roasts were massive! Everything was reasonably priced and the staff were so good especially Claire. We had two people look after us as well as people bringing our food and each one was friendly and helpful. Thank you to the team for a lovely Sunday afternoon/evening

Came here for dinner with my husband on Christmas eve. We had the festive menu. Food was brilliant. Drinks were lovely too! We weren't rushed and were asked when we wanted the next course to be served. Lovely atmosphere- modern, warm and cosy. Would recommend coming here!

One of the very few places you can reliably get a great pint of mild. In general a great beer selection. I love the outside area. The staff are great and always make me feel welcome. The food isn't really bad, but I don't enjoy it much.

Very welcoming and helpful! I phoned ahead as we comprised a gluten free person, a wheelchair user and a dog. Super friendly welcome, advice on where to park for easy access and plenty of offers of help if we needed it. The food was delicious and the staff kind and attentive. We will definitely return. We had a brilliant time!! Kim M was our server, she was lovely! She let us know what food was unavailable, while also recommending dishes as well, she recommended the salmon which I had and was brilliant! She made sure my allergy was adhered too and was very helpful! The service was excellent!

The ambience and welcome was nice. A good selection of dishes to choose from - I had the belly of pork with scallops, which was beautifully cooked and absolutely delicious. The waiting staff were friendly, polite and welcoming and were attentive , but not overbearing.. Our young lady who served us was Emma who was delightful and a credit to the pub restaurant, and helped make my evening a very pleasant one. I would absolutely recommend this pub to anyone who has not dined here before. I shall definitely be returning.

The food was great and the waiters were very friendly. Location about 30 mins walk from the town centre. If you don't like walking better to drive there or take a cab.
