Omar (Asian guy with tattoos, cool sneakers, and retro t shirts) teaches salsa and beginners bachata and I enjoy taking his classes. He makes it very comfortable to ask questions and provides a good environment for learning. He explains everything very well and caters to beginners and more experienced dancers as well. He teaches with an enthusiasm that is infectious and makes the class fun. I've been taking classes here for months with all of the instructors. The entire team is great. I signed up to take unlimited classes for a month and I've really seen my dancing improve. The teachers are all great and I'll sign up for another month soon.

My first time there I was very nervous about not having a partner to learn with or even a friend to experience & learn with, but the instructor & owner make you feel so comfortable. My worries about how I looked when my 2 left feet took over wasn't even a factor because everyone is help eachother out. As I became more comfortable & confident I found myself helping new comers as the others did when I was a newbie. The socials are definitely the highlight of it all because, not like going to a club hoping to show off your moves with someone, at socials everyone dances with eachother. The instructors always works the room to dance with everyone in this super friendly & non intimidating atmosphere. I recommended 3 of my friends & they can't get enough of the place. Kudos to this place! I strongly recommend it.

I truly believe that this dance studio is the best on Long Island. I have been dancing here for 4 months now and absolutely love it. Not only for what I am learning, but for the friendships and camaraderie that I have gained. The owners and instructors and your fellow students make you feel like family. And the monthly socials are great for having fun and putting what you have learned to the test! I highly recommend Sunrise Latin Dance & Fitness!

Great Instructors! There is much to learn and they teach well. You can tell they take pride in and care about developing their students. The fast pace can be challenging, but it's the only way to improve. It only took one class to decide to come regularly, which I do! The students are also good company. Worth a visit to come see for yourself...you won't regret it.

I have so much fun learning to dance salsa at this studio! At first I was a bit nervous but the atmosphere immediately made me comfortable . I highly recommend this place. Learn a new style of dance and get a great work out at the same time!

This studio dances on 2 style salsa. There are different styles to dance Salsa. The footwork is different. There is New York City Style salsa (dancing on 2) and there is the more popular Style that's called dancing on 1. If you learn on 2 style, you will not be able to dance with people that dance on 1. Dancing on 1 style is more popular on Long Island as well as around the world. There are a lot more local Studios on Long Island that you can go dancing on 1. These Studios also start their dance socials earlier in the evening. The few socials that dance on 2 style salsa start very late at night. Learning on 2 style Salsa from this studio is not the same as learning on 2 Salsa in NYC. If you want to dance like a NYC dancer, you need to learn at a NYC studio and go to NYC dance socials.
