We just got out of there with a local friend, we ride the bicycle on their 5.5 miles bycicle road, it was exhausting but totally worth it if you like to byke. Also there is a hiking road for you to enjoy the nature. There's free parking and tables for you to eat something outside.

Nice place to feel like You're away from society. Most people that come here, go biking. But running here is enjoyable as well. Bring insect repellant and a compass. For if you get lost. You need to head west to get back to the parking lot

The preserve appears to be small, but there are many trails to walk or bike on. The bike trails are marked "easy," "moderate," and "difficult." There are open fields to fly kites or model planes. Sometimes I see dog training there. Dogs are permitted to go on the trails.

This was a cool park to go to with my dog and fiancé. As you can see in the picture, the trash was overflowing on a Thursday morning. Not sure what the trash pickup schedule is, but certainly could be more frequent. The trails were well marked and maintained. You're able to go biking here as well. Large field areas too. Not many people when I went but the trash leads me to believe it can be busy over here.

Awesome flowy trails! A bit tight here and there and if you take the right path you may find what looks to be an old foundation. An old car and more interesting tid bits to keep ya wondering or googling 🤙🏻 💥Dont forget to print your free seasonal access permet pass to keep on ya tho. Dec.ny.gov

It’s difficult to rate a nature preserve bad. Long Island is extremely populated and doesn’t really offer lots of nature land as it’s pretty developed. I stumbled across this as I left work, and I randomly in different places. This place has a parking lot which is great. Some people might complain its not paved but I like the rustic look and feel. I took a trail deep into the preserve and it was very pretty the brush made a walk way tunnel and you can see it in my pics. I think if i had a complaint was that traffic can be heard just a short distance away so this distracts from hearing birds or other wild life. Very calming place and serene. Not too strenuous as its flat but paths can be long. Always try and visit with someone else to be safe this goes for any park really.

A good place for hiking or biking long distances. It's fairly peaceful and it wasn't that packed even on the weekend. The preserve is designed more for biking than hiking and there aren't many signs so it's easy to get lost. It can get noisy from nearby traffic.

25 miles of MtnBike Trail - 20 miles is twisty single track.

The Chilling history of America's medical experiments on humans took place on this property in the 1930s and 40s. By the 1960s, the facility had grown into the largest mental hospital in the world. Some of the old railroad tracks are seen in the East South East part of the park. The trains transported patients, doctors and nurses along with coal trains for the power station on the secondary track. It was called the Edgewood Spur to the LIRR. FYI there are still hatches to an underground labyrinth used for steam power. Enjoy your adventures and be careful. I found evidence of homeless residing in tunnels.

My husband and kids belong to Edgewood Flyers and use the field here. It's a beautiful preserve with great trails. Most people like to ride bicycles or walk their dogs here. You do need a permit and I recommend bug spray for ticks.

This is a really nice trail; family friendly and open to the public. There are usually folk flying model aircraft and others either heading to the bike trail, walking their dogs, or just spending time together. A wholesome experience.

Great location for RC flying. It is a grass field but it is mowed and area is well maintained. One observation and it is not a complaint, there are no tables or setup stands so RC models are on the ground or your car. I am going to join the local fly club to give it try.

Did some trail riding last night on the white path. It was a great path for nighttime riding, wide and only a few narrows in the dark.

My visit to Edgewood Oak Brush Plains Preserve was a refreshing escape into nature. This Long Island gem offers serene trails, lush oak forests, and a variety of wildlife. It's a peaceful retreat for hiking, birdwatching, or simply enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. A must-visit for nature enthusiasts and a welcome respite from the city's hustle and bustle.
