I decided to visit the new West Des Moines location 7/1/2022 and it was horrible. Irina's main and original location has always been mine and my family's go to spot for a nice dinner. This WDSM location is far from anything like the original. My waitress knew absolutely nothing and informed us she was bosnian not Russian and had just started. I asked for a classico, a Russian beer and she brought me a margarita on the rocks. When I asked her why, that's not what I asked for she then informed me that she didn't even know what a classico was and figured I would like what she brought. She was 100% wrong. Our food was bland, service was beyond slow and my total check cost more than it ever has even when I have gone with a party of 4 and we all drank. When I asked why and how my bill even totaled $230 for 3 people whom all only got 1 drink each she just said because. My receipt was not itemized and when I asked for one she indicated that they don't have itemized receipts. At that point after waiting for almost 30 minutes to even get my check I was just ready to leave. I will never return to that WDSM location again and am weary of even considering the original. I hope anyone else whom visits has a far better experience than what I, my husband and father had.

This place was AMAZING! Food was absolutely fantastic! This place is definitely a romantic atmosphere. You walk in to dim lighting with candles on the tables. We had our 10 month daughter with us and the waitress was filling up our water and I told my wife we needed to fill our daughter's water. The waitress was so kind, she actually asked what temperature of water and filled it up for us. I was just going to use our water. Super nice. The calamari wasn't anything special but it was good. However our entrees were delicious. I got the Salmon Wellington and she got a seafood dish. It was incredibly good. The waitress continually checked on us and refilled our drinks and checked on if the food was good. We had a great time and enjoyed the entire experience. Prices were upscale. Depending what you get for dinner it was like $40 to $50 per person but definitely worth it. Appetizers were $14 to $16 dollars. Would highly recommend this place, especially for a celebration for something special!

We stumbled across Irinas on date night. We wanted sea food and the chef did way more than satisfy our craving! This place is amazing! We will be back for sure!

Came here on a Tuesday. Old fashioned was more Wisconsin style which isn’t my jam but other wise food was great. Side portions are HUGE so don’t get carried away. Had the fillet with horseradish crust. Was awesome!!! Vibe was a bit dark but it worked. Will be back.

We went here for a double date on a Saturday night. This was our 1st time trying Irinas. Unfortunately the service didn't match the presentation and quality of the food. When we got seated we waited for a waiter for about 20 min until we tracked someone down and we ended up getting waited on by the hostess. She did the best she could considering...but why were we seated if no waiter was available? She mentioned that they had a large group of 20 and that they were running behind because of that. I understand, but why did they seat us if they couldnt handle it? Just poor management. We should have just left at that point because it took 1.5 hours to finally get our food and we immediately had to request to-go bags so we could make our comedy show. That night we noticed another couple cancelling their entrees, we should have done the same and not spent over 100 dollars for terrible service. This is something you might expect at a buffalo wild wings, but if I am paying over 100 dollars the service should be reflected in that price. We will not be returning and will keep going to our usual date night spots that can manage both the food AND service.

Stopped in for dinner as a solo business traveler staying at a hotel across the street. It was a cold night so I started my meal with a bowl of lobster bisque. It hit the spot and was one of the better recipes I have ever had. I will probably crave it in the future, 😂. Next I had the 6oz filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak was cooked perfectly medium as I had specified and the sauce that came with it was absolutely finger licking! The perfect bite was a steak + mashed potatoes+ sauce. I'll be back on my next trip for sure.

Last night I was having dinner with a friend and we are regulars at Irina’s as we enjoy the ambiance and food. I had heard some noise to see the table nearby had accidentally had their meals dropped on the floor, mistakes happen, no problem.. however, I was appalled when I heard the father had found glass in his mouth because the kitchen had not actually made a new dish, but just cleaned the old one off.. the family requested the manager to fix this issue and he raised his voice and told them “i can’t control what my chefs do”… this is absolutely horrible behavior to be so rude to a family dining in your establishment who could have been seriously injured or worse, from swallowing glass. Unfortunately, I will not be going back to this restaurant ever again as their management staff needs a lesson in respect and customer service as well as overall morals of lying to your customers when it relates to the food they are consuming.

This is a hidden gem nested between strip malls and hotels. If you are looking for a upscale dining option with good atmosphere, this is a great alternative. While the dining room Is quite dark, the presentation of the food and engaged staff make up for it. We went early on a week night so it wasn’t very busy. Staff was good but also left you enough time to talk and enjoy. If you are looking for a rush service, this isn’t it but I also didn’t feel like it was slow because they didn’t care. The food was fantastic. The nachos were probably some of the best I’ve ever had and my steak was tremendous and melted in my mouth. It is pricey and in that category you certainly have options like Flemings or now, Ruth’s. However if you are looking for something different, I’d go here again in a heart beat.

We went to Irina’s on a Sunday night at 6:30 for my birthday. We made reservations but didn’t need to as there wasn’t many people. In total, we were in the restaurant for over 2 hours. That may bother some, but I’m a believer in relaxing during dinner and enjoying the time as long as the food is good. Our waitress was very nice and gave my husband and I both a complimentary shot for my birthday. I got my salad pretty quickly, but our main food took quite a long time to come out (like 45 minutes) and the wrong order was brought out to us at one point because their ticket machine ran out of paper at one point. We got second free drinks for the wait. The main food we got was really good and hot, and felt like good serving sizes. We also received a birthday dessert at the end of the meal. It wasn’t my favorite but a really nice gesture. Overall it was a slow dinner, but I’m pretty sure our waitress was the only one working the floor and there were only two cooks in the kitchen. That’s tough and I really can’t fault them with how hard it is to find workers right now. This would not be a regular stop for us as it was pricey, but I wouldn’t hesitate to come back for the food for a special occasion.

I am a big fan of the original Irena's on Hickman, so wanted to give this one a try. Everything was amazing, and the food was beyond delicious! We sat at the bar and had amazing service from Spencer (who was working her butt off) and Dimitri. We got some specialty cocktails, the boursin mushrooms, shrimp cocktail (shrimp was as big as my hand), lobster ravioli, and steak deburgo. Oh, and the snickers pie! So good!!!

We’ve been to the old location many times with our kids. They had their own issues at that location, but we never had to worry about our kids having a place to sit. Made reservations for two adults and two high chairs at the new location. We arrived and were informed they actually don’t have any high chairs at the new location. It sure would have been good customer service to notify us ahead of time about that. Even the very nice steakhouses and other restaurants downtown and around the city have high chairs, so this came as quite a shock. Based on their response, edited to add we were in fact seated at a table with four chairs, not a booth. And that still does not explain why no one could be bothered to contact us and let us know there were no high chairs available when they were requested on the reservation that was made about a week in advance.

We were lucky enough to share a meal at this lovely restaurant. We were greeted by Alex, she was really nice and personable. The owner was very welcoming and the food was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was perfect. Compliments to the chef and the staff for making our dinner so memorable.

I dined here Friday evening during restaurant week, my first visit to this location. It was a fantastic experience! The service was great and the food was amazing, the plating was over the top. Highly recommend!

Great food but even better service and atmosphere. Not every menu item here is 10/10 but some things are, so I’ll still give it a 5. Overall, this is a fantastic dining experience and lives up to its former location.

Gross! I wanted to love this place but everything was so dirty that it ruined it. The menu had food all over it, my martini glass had someone else's lipstick, the bathroom smelled and the lock was broken. :( Still charged me full price for everything and the service was so slow. 2+ hours for dinner for two people in an empty restaurant

From service, good food, dessert, atmosphere..everything was absolutely amazing! It’s our 2nd time here and both times was beautiful! Thank you Michael for such amazing service and recommending the tomahawk steak! Can’t wait for next time.

We had a fabulous experience at this new Irina's. The environment is "classy", food was delicious and service made you feel special. Enjoyed meeting and talking to the Chef... presentation of our seafood meal was spectacular! Always love the bright; energetic visit with Irina. I would definitely put this in the top 5 in Des Moines. You should check it out! We look forward to our next visit.
