I
don't
typically
write
reviews
but
wanted
to
make
sure
other
parents
can
make
the
best
decision
for
their
children
based
on
my
experience.
I
took
my
6
year
old
daughter
to
Des
Moines
Children's
Dentistry
this
Spring
after
moving
from
out
of
state.
The
facility
and
interior
design
is
lovely,
and
the
techs
were
very
sweet.
After
a
brief
exam
the
dentist
recommended
an
aggressive
course
of
care.
She
then
explained
that
the
procedures
recommended
were
often
very
traumatic
and
painful
for
children,
especially
the
second
appointment
and
that
another
option
would
be
general
anesthesia
in
the
hospital.
She
explained
that
during
procedures
that
were
carried
out
at
the
office,
I
would
not
be
allowed
to
be
in
the
room
during
the
procedure
but
could
watch
silently
through
a
window.
My
daughter
was
very
anxious
during
the
appointment,
in
part
because
of
a
long
30
minute+
wait
in
the
exam
room,
where
she
could
see
other
children
having
procedures
done.
We
were
quoted
around
$1,000
of
out
of
pocket
costs
after
our
Delta
Dental
insurance
was
applied.
I
was
surprised
with
the
recommendations
and
cost
but
planned
to
move
forward.
In
the
meantime,
a
local
friend
recommended
a
second
opinion
from
a
different
family
dentist
which
we
received
and
that
dentist
referred
us
to
a
different
pediatric
dental
clinic,
Pediatric
Dentistry
of
Central
Iowa.
I
took
my
daughter
to
Pediatric
dentistry
of
Central
Iowa
this
morning
and
was
amazed
at
the
difference
in
the
experience.
Once
again
the
environment
was
bright
and
clean,
although
slightly
more
dated
interior
design
that
DMCD.
Staff
was
friendly
and
got
us
into
the
exam
room
quickly.
Once
in,
Dr.
Whittemore
and
his
tech
put
my
daughter
to
ease
immediately.
They
examined
and
recommended
a
similar
treatment
plan,
with
the
difference
that
all
treatment
could
be
done
in-office
and
the
first
procedure,
a
filling,
could
be
done
that
day.
I
asked
about
pain
and
anxiety
and
they
said
they
could
be
managed
very
effectively
in-office.
I
was
able
to
be
with
my
daughter
in
the
room
and
talk
to
her
during
the
procedure.
I
was
amazed
at
the
speed
and
efficiency
of
Dr.
Whittemore
and
his
tech,
my
daughter
was
completely
relaxed
and
to
my
surprise
did
not
react
to
the
shots
at
all
as
they
used
a
special
technique
to
distract
her.
We
were
in
and
out
in
under
an
hour.
Here's
the
kicker
--
total
estimate
for
the
complete
treatment
plan
came
in
at
just
over
$200
after
insurance.
I'm
still
amazed
at
the
difference
and
am
so
glad
we
went
with
a
second
opinion!
