Had the privilege of playing in the R&A 9 hole challenge a week before The Open which is a dream opportunity to play such a course. Tough challenge but fantastic course, especially when doing 'The Walk" up the 18th fairway with the stand there(albeit no spectators!). Wonderful clubhouse with excellent facilities and welcoming staff. Thanks to the Club Captain for hosting our evening dinner (good and service superb!) Hi and and play if you get the opportunity.

Attended The Open at Royal Liverpool Golf Club (as a spectator!!). It's a beautiful course and made for large attendances. The facilities provided were great, including the access via trains to and from Hoylake. The great big on course spaces allowed for multiple stands that gave great views across greens, fairways, and teeboxes. The local volunteers were courteous and helpful. The course itself has enormous greens with countless options for pins. The pot bunkers are a massive test for mere mortal golfers. The multiple tee boxes per hole give huge variations on hole lengths. The fairways are flatter than the greens too! It is a great Open venue and a true test for a golfer of any handicap and ability.

Fabulous welcome and hospitality as you would expect from a famous iconic golf venue however I was underwhelmed even though I played okay. Too expensive. Slow round. Too many Americans. Poor greens. Played Conwy and Royal St David Harlech which were brilliant and memorable. Sorry but not a fan. Cheers RBS

Went to the 151st open. Stunning setting, lovely weather, the helpers around the course were both knowledgeable and helpful. A wonderful event laid on by both Royal Liverpool GC and the R&A. Would definitely love to play it, but only when my handicap is a bit lower

Hoylake never fails to impress - as a golf course and as a venue.

We visited on July 24, the day after the British Open 2023. The clubhouse is an elegant English building. The course was where the British Open was being played until the day before, and I had a wonderful memory of playing the same course!

Visited here for the Open Championship. Slight delay in queuing to get in while bags were checked, more course entrances in future? Great viewing around the course and polite helpful Marshalls. Large queues at the toilets and some of the food and drink facilities. Need to find a way making these available more readily around the course instead of all being in one cluster. All in all tho a great day was had so thanks Royal Liverpool 👏

Went here with my three sons, to watch The Open. Despite the weather, it rained all day, we had a a wonderful day. The event was superbly organized and our hospitality package was magnificent.

Played on October 27 with my wife Rita and we had a golf day to remember. We felt very welcomed at the club and our caddies Mark and Brian made our experience truly memorable. Both of us hitting the green on No 17 (Little Eye) was a career golf highlight. We both watched two days of the Open back in July sitting in the stands at 17 and playing this oursleves was a bucket list item for us. I hope we can come back soon.

Absolute pure class. A real day to remember, we starter our adventure by walking to the course pushing our trolleys and clubs along the sea front as we were staying only 10mins down the road. This proved most amusing for the locals. On arrival at the club house its a slick and very warm welcome, we were given a brief of the club house and its history and the facilities then we were checked in and given instructions for our round. For a visitor you feel really special and its a really nice touch. Great to have the range just across the first fairway and putting green just in front of the club house too. The starter gave us some final tips and we headed out and what a round it was. All three of us had been apprehensive of what we might score having looked at the slope rating and done the usual fly over research of the course. All of us played out of our skins and shot some of the best scores of the year which meant we all walked off feeling amazing. In the club house we celebrated and stayed for dinner which was also wonderful. the usual discussions ensued, best hole (everybody agreed the new par 3 16th) comparison of the other courses we had played already in area and we all agreed this was up there. The condition was amazing, greens were receptive but not too quick. This is an absolute must for anyone playing golf in northwest England, just a great venue and course.

Nice course in good condition, very friendly starter. Signage on back nine can be tricky to know where the next tee is. Easily fixed imo.

The new relaxed dress code meant we could eat in the dining room without a jacket and tie. Just didn't seem right for some reason. Service and food were both exceptional as usual.
