I used to go to this place to eat empanadas and Desayuno Criollo because I like it and they prepared well. But many things just happened. 1. They started to charged 18% like mandatory even for deliveries, I still accepted that until a day the lady who was serving ask to me and my friend to give the tip, even when the service was charged already, her explanation: that's a fee, no the tip... ladrona chica. 2. A different day we Went for breakfast as usual, the place was crowed but we decided to wait for a table. When there was a free table we took it, and in a couple of minutes the waitress (different waitress) Went outside because a friends of her just arrived and she told us to leave the table because it was reserved for that people. I was like...wt...! 3. The last time I Went because my friends convinced me (because I didn't want to go anymore, ever) and I just wait like forever for my dish, everybody ate except me and at the end we had to leave, and when we asked the waitress just said that she was receiving many orders, and she was in a bad mood. At the end she charged us the food and still had to wait until they put it in a box, so I couldn't even eat in the place. A mean, the food is not bad but the service is very deficient, the worse I've seen. All those ladies should receive a proper training in costumer service or should be replaced because is disgusting and disrespectful that you spend your money to be treated like in here. At least teach them some manners.

The food is not the best but is acceptable, service on the other hand is terrible, servers are trying to take advantage of costumers, last time I order food to go and I handed my card to them to charge me, and when I saw how much it was I ask for the check just to find out they charged me 15% service tip on a TO GO order which I think is illegal! I always tip even for to go orders but it is not mandatory and they were trying to get extra tip over the one that was already charged! They only told me is the system that added it automatically and I know that’s a lie because I work in hospitality! I will Never be coming back to this place where they have theft are employees!

Food was okay, but I don’t know why they charged the 20% for party of two people? Also, they don’t said anything or gave me any receipt so I couldn’t be able to checked it , and course I didn’t knew that, so I left 20% of the tip as well, so 40% tip for two meals. :) doesn’t make any sense to me.

Singlehandedly the greatest Venezuelan restaurant in the greater NYC metro area. I was brought to tears when the taste of the empanadas caressed the inside of my mouth. This restaurant outclasses anything in the area. I couldn't do anything besides drop down to my knees and bow down upon those who took the time to make it. I felt my body begin to levitate as the food snatched my soul. I was ready to be taken to heaven as I knew I had reached the pinnacle of food. If I could give it a Michelin star I would, as the food taste that as of a Michelin star chef.

I tried the pork shoulder filled corn cakes and the empanada with beef. Both of them tasted good, and provided a different kind of flavor. The restaurant is cute and small, and the owner was kind. Would recommend for this type of food.

Nice friendly place. We ordered 2 of the traditional Venezuelan dishes, Both were big portions and filling. The cachaba was a little bland but I will definitely return to try more dishes.

The service is really bad. The waitresses are rude. But the food is descent. But they take too long. It took about 25 min for me to get my food. I do not recommend this place. Service is everything

I will say, this place has good empanadas. That's what I use to go for. But honestly, their service really really sucks. They are no attentive and informative on the status of the order. They are really rude when you ask about your order, therefore I never went back there again.

Way to long of a wait.. very few customers and took almost 1 hour to get my order. Poor table with over 5 people it took just as long and not all came at once. 👎

The staff offer a terrible and bad customer service over the phone, so disrespectful to treat a customer just for inquiring about the food which I was paying for plus the wait for a bread with some cheese and meat inside longer than 45 minutes so ridiculous even when clearly it was not a busy hour. It’s not the first time I got a bad experience for this place and their lack of customer service.

The place is fairly small, good food and fairly expensive for Venezuelan food. Arepa $9.00 and although is good, is expensive for the area. Another concern is that the restaurant is always empty, concerns of the food’s freshness is also a problem.

It used to be a really good place, but now it's really disappointing. I went for lunch (take out) and had to wait for 40 minutes, even though nobody else was there. The food was okay, but they charge 15% of service without telling you, expecting more tip.

The park ave CROOKS! That’s how we call them. They charge you 15% fee for just ordering with them. In other words, you call or go there to order to go, they charge you an extra 15% of the price of the food. They also charge you extra fee for using your debit card. When I brought up the fees to Kenia (staff at the moment), she said it was inevitable. After all these extra fees, you don’t get the food you order. I ordered a chicken and pernil cachapa. When I got home, I had two ham and cheese cachapa. When I call them and spoke with Selva, she refuses to help and stated that the only way to get it fix is by bringing back the food. So they wanted me, after getting charge all these extra fees that they don’t have an explanation for, to spend time and gas bringing the order they messed up.

Today I went to this place for the first time, and I had one of the worst possible attention. I ordered a Mondongo that was the special of the day and a chicken patacon. First the waitresses took a long time to serve me and it seemed that I was invisible to them, because more customers arrived and they completely ignored me, and when the mondogo finally arrived I waited for 30 minutes and my patacon still hadn't arrived. I asked them how long it'll take for them to bring my food and it seems that my order was given to another customer, so I had to cancel the order and leave the place. (and another thing, the tip was included)

Despite the fact that the quality of food is good. People over the phone are extremely rude. This lady called me over the phone to let me know SHE MADE A MISTAKE cancelling the wrong item, and told me she ARBITRARELY changed the item for another of her choice. When I tried to have a conversation with her about it, her answer was a rough attitude and very impolite manners. So sad a place with great food has such a poor costumer service.

BE CAREFUL WHEN ORDER TAKE OUT FROM THIS PLACE. THEY CHARGE YOU 15% service fees no matter what. Their customer service is too poor 👎🏿. When I realized that they charged me the 15% then I called them asking the reason and the answer was “WE CHARGE THE 15% SERVICE TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS NO MATTER WHAT, IF YOU DON’T LIKE THAT WE CAN’T DO ANYTHING” and then the woman just hung up the phone and i was like “???” SO RUDE!! And even I talked to them in Spanish to see if they could be more friendly or nicer but I was wrong. I definitely not coming to this place anymore if they don’t correct their behavior!!!

Delicious Venezuelan food! Empanadas were delicious and garlic sauce the best. This place hit the spot, if you are craving Venezuelan food.

It's really a shame with this place, the food is delicious but the customer service is so bad, they automatically charge you the 15% for service, which you don't receive, I mean, I don't expect attention from a fine dining restaurant but a bit of kindness or good attitude, it would be nice 😳

I’ve been in la gran sabana many times and most of times there’s an issue… but today we ordered a delivery from this place, one of my friends doesn’t eat meat and he ordered cheese empanadas and they sent chicken empanadas with a note saying “we sent 2 cheese and 3 chicken because we ran out of cheese” without even calling or confirming if that was okay. Crazy
