Great hidden gem in west orange. Good breakfast options. One star off because of time management.

Recently passed through here while visiting my brother. We had two excellent sandwiches - the club and the caprese - and the folks working there were really nice. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed as we caught up over lunch. Would highly recommend for a delicious and healthy small town lunch!

Nice cafe with excellent coffee. They roast their own coffee which has a taste of its own. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely visit again if I'm in the area.

Best coffee and brunch! Roast coffee in house. Aroma is amazing! Vibe is second to none! Blue matcha, black latte! Avocado toast!

Got the Not So Simple egg sandwich and a large latte. Very straight up and satisfying. The brioche on the sandwich was particularly soft and enjoyable. They also have cute mugs and homey interior.

I absolutely love coming here. I always order the avocado toast and an iced lavender latte. The best part about coming here though is the welcoming environment and the crowd. I always leave motivated and refreshed!

Such a great small, local business. Delicious, fresh food and coffee, and really lovely atmosphere (check out the ski lift booth/table!)

What a wonderful experience. Breakfast with friends in a beautifully decorated black owned business with a menu item for everyone. We loved that the owner greeted everyone that his doors. The entire staff shares his warmth and professionalism. Everyone was a delight! The food was the cherry on top! Please get the truffle grilled cheese sandwich. Perfectly cooked bacon with delicious a croissant pictured. Thank you for having us, we can’t wait to return.

Harper’s cafe was great! An casual black-owned LGBTQ friendly cafe with great people working. All the staff wanted to make sure we felt comfortable with our relatively larger party. The turkey club and whipped coffee was great. Great place to stop for a little Sunday brunch.

Found this little gem today. My lunch was creative and delicious. I had a chicken club on sour dough, with bacon, garlic aioli, honey and arugula. It was very flavorful, with extra arugula on the side. My chai latte was perfect for a cold day. The staff person was very pleasant and the vibe was very hip and cozy with great contemporary music. I choose to enjoy my lunch in my personal ski lift style car (pic attached). Can’t wait to return.

The owner is warm and welcoming. The doors are open to all walks to life and that is very comforting to know that this is a safe space. The food looks absolutely delightful and the reviews support how amazing the taste is! To the person who commented about the pride sticker and not being able to support this business because they support people like me... maybe consider grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting with someone who may be different than yourself. Some great discussions can be had over a good ole cup of coffee. You might learn something. I recommend a single shot of expresso and one of the mouthwatering sandwiches on brioche. My parents taught me to take the high road and treat others with love, id rather leave a note of change, than a message of hate. Peace, love and happiness

Cute Cafe in West Orange. Went there to work and get a rest from my home office. Service was great. Decor was great! Music was great and not overly distracting. I can't remember the name of what I ordered but it was a mozzarella, tomato, lettuce sandwich on croissant.... CAPRESE... I didn't use their free Wi-Fi since I brought my own but they offer that too. There were several other patrons there and felt lively.

Love the food and service here. The atmosphere is cool. I recommend the lattes, truffle grilled cheese, toasts, biscuit, pancakes, and the baked goods.

I've been waiting a long time for a local coffee shop in my town. Service is fast and friendly. They make iced coffee with coffee ice cubes! I thought that was one of the greatest things I had ever seen. I haven't had their breakfast yet but their Chocolate Croissant is fire!

Harper’s definitely has very good food, atmosphere and service. Ordered avocado toast, pancakes and grilled cheese. All three were spot on delicious - the maple butter syrup is fire. Highly recommend and looking forward to going again to try other items on menu…

Warm and just the right spot for a good cup of coffee and a book. A friendly and accepting atmosphere. I will be back!

Harper's has been a staple of the valley over the last several years. There is always a good vibe, delicious food, top-quality coffee and cold drinks. The owner is engaged not only with the customers but with the community at large. We are lucky to have this establishment in our neighborhood!!!

The AVOCADO TOAST is simply amazing! the toast, the consistency and the perfectly seasoned salad. The crunchy chickpeas really steal the show. I came for breakfast & coffee (whipped coffee is my new addiction) but I stayed for the people, the staff is so friendly without being annoying lol to top it off they play great music!

Always enjoy coming here. It’s definitely not a rush type of place so make sure you leave a little time to grab your coffee if you aren’t staying in, but GREAT vibes. excited to come back.

Best oat milk latte around and awesome avocado toast- this place has a fun laid back vibe. Also noteworthy: very friendly service, great playlists, and delicious cookies.

A friend brought coffee and a croissant. Both were very good. Was not familiar with Harper’s. Will make it a point to Go there. Only about three minutes from my house.

Major vibes and the food, coffee, service and company were all amazing. Owner is very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful as a few out-of-town visitors navigated the menu. I need to visit this place more often- it’s such a great spot.

Great local coffee shop with delicious breakfast. I’ve been in several times over the last 6 months. The vanilla latte and food are fabulous! The staff were friendly and welcoming… can’t wait to visit again soon!

Their coffee is SO good. Kind and friendly people working and hanging out each time I visit. It’s Definitely kid-friendly and the red booth is fun. Nowhere better to get a latte cappuccino drip or iced coffee. Every drink I’ve had here is excellent. Their roasted beans make great coffee at home too!

Okay… So, don’t let this quaint little cafe fool you. The coffee here is to die for! The staff is friendly and we’ll keep coming back. A concise menu of the best meal basics helps keep you from having to spend half-hour deciding what to get. DO get the pancakes! The egg platter is tasty, with sweet potato home fries that are a delish twist on the norm. Will have to try the truffle grilled cheese. I’m told it’s the bomb. Harper’s cafe: A small piece of foodie heaven in an unlikely West Orange space. Everyone (and I mean that literally) patronizes here. Don’t sleep… come and eat.

If you like your cinnamon syrup heated up over delicious pancakes, coffee ice cubes to make sure your caffeinated drink is never watered down, the most perfect avocado toast while listening to the best beats of 90’s and early 2000 r&b this is the spot for you.

Great little coffee shop in West Orange. It's a charming shop with interesting decor. The coffee and selection were great, the avocado toast was absolutely delicious and well balanced (the acid from the balsamic and Sriracha is a really nice touch). Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the neighborhood.

This review is about coffee - I haven't tried their food. The $3.50 cappuccino I got here was one of the worst I've ever had. Scorching hot milk (it sat on the counter for a minute while the barista was taking the next order, and the drink still burned my tongue!) and zero coffee flavor. A superauto coffee machine would make a better drink.

Found this gem a few months ago on one of my daily walks around the neighborhood. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome and serviced quickly. I got a breakfast sandwich which was one of the best I’ve had in a while! I’ll definitely be dropping in more often.

First time checking out this cafe, the vibe was chill, food came out in less than 10 mins and was delicious. My ice latte came with coffee ice cubes which was a nice touch. Will be back.

The place looks nice inside and the people working are very nice but the food is horrible and overpriced. I got the BLT which tasted nothing like a BLT, not even lettuce included just bitter arugula and the not so simple sandwich tasted extremely bland, it required ketchup to be edible. No seasoning overall and the “home fries” which are just boiled potatoes that look dyed red…?? No taste present other than straight potato. The lemonade was good, but the food was just so unseasoned and honestly bad.
