🫤 I've been using Jefferson Park Vet for 3 years now for my 3 year old dog and my 8 month puppy. They get the job done but there are a few reasons they don't get 5 stars . The first is the vet said my at the time 3 month puppy was rude and not well behaved and was more judgemental more than encouragin... People often mention care, Park, told, Jefferson, time, called, staff, Mandel,

I've been using Jefferson Park Vet for 3 years now for my 3 year old dog and my 8 month puppy. They get the job done but there are a few reasons they don't get 5 stars . The first is the vet said my at the time 3 month puppy was rude and not well behaved and was more judgemental more than encouraging of working on these behaviors. The second reason is the receptionist Tina I spoke with on the phone was very rude to me on the phone when I asked questions about previous estimate I received there and she told me it expired and would have to get a new spay estimate. I asked if I could know what it was previously and she told me the estimate was gone. She wouldn't let me speak without cutting me off and overall she was not very helpful and very rude. I was able to set the spay appointment and then asked if she can get chipped as well and she told me I can ask when I come for my appointment. I'm not sure if Tina was having a rough day but I definitely didn't deserve for her to take it out on me with the attitude and rudeness. The next reason is regarding my experience with using Care Credit at this office. I had an appointment for my puppy and when it was time to pick up I got the bill and paid through the app because I did not have my card and do not live close by to go get it. Given the receptionist was newer it isn't totally his fault, but I feel like someone in the office should have had some information on using Care Credit account. The problem I had was I paid through the app but the receptionist said they did not receive it. I showed them the confirmation on the app which was not good enough. I then called Care Credit customer service and they confirmed it went through as well and recommended the Vet call to confirm themself. Which they did and still told me they cannot confirm it. They basically held my dog hostage for almost 2 hours then the receptionist finally called and said that they had confirmation and they said didn't log into the Care Credit account to check. I was very upset. The final reason may not be such a big deal because I'm not sure how the process was before COVID, but I don't like that I have never been able to walk into the office. It makes me nervous leaving my dog anywhere let alone in a place I can't even see for such a long time.

Very friendly staff and really helpful with explaining everything in a way that made sense. If I chose to, I could pick what I wanted to have done at the time and felt good knowing what was needed later. Reasonably priced and within the budget range for what I had then do. Be sure to consider them for all your veterinary needs.

My only problem that I really had was that they gave my dog medication without consulting you first and then turned around and charged me for it. I mean what if I didn't have the money for that what were they going to do with my dog? Before you give anyone's animal anything you should consult with them first, especially if you're going to charge them for it.

Disclaimer : 4.5 because it is very pricey. Dr Mendell basically brought my cat back to life! My Maggie had a severe vitamin deficiency that had caused her brain lesions. Dr. Mendel listened to what I had to say and didn't disregard me. She was able to turn around pretty quickly and now Maggs is more lively than she has ever been! I would recommend Dr Mendel and Jefferson Park Veterinary to anybody!!

They told me all of the charges over the phone. I came to pick up my dog. They ran my credit card and told me about the treatment when I got home I looked at the receipt and found a $7 charge for COVID and PPE supplies. They never said anything and when I called to ask they said "other business are doing it too" and tried to tell me more. I interrupted her so she didn't give me the long explanation of why they were doing that and she told me "if you don't like it you can go somewhere else" Nice way to keep business.

My first appointment was on a Tuesday for my dog with a growth on his leg. Dr. Mandel found it to be melanoma and called me after hours to give me the news. This was on a Friday. On Saturday (her time off) she arranged to have him seen by a visiting specialist on the following Friday because of a heart condition my dog has and will need to be addressed before the growth can be removed. She also fit me in to her practice for tests to make sure the cancer has not traveled. Dr. Mandel truly cares and wants to give the best possible care for your pet. I truly can't thank her enough!! My doggie has a much better chance of getting through this because of her!! Her staff is great also!

Dr Mandell is very passionate and experienced in the industry. She is knowledgeable when it comes to outsourcing care and will provide out of the box solutions to impossible situations. I was going to euthanize my cat due to an incurable disease, and emailed her as a courtesy to let her know what was happening and she promptly responded, even though it was her day off, to provide an alternative solution. She also provided outstanding care to our late cat when she had cancer. I am eternally grateful to her and her amazing staff for all they do.

Dr Mandell and staff, at Jefferson Park have went above and beyond in caring for my animals. I was looking for a new vet, after seeing one that, at best, was disinterested in addressing any of the concerns I had for my pets. I was nervous about trying a new vet, but am so glad I did. If you are looking for a vet that is fully invested in the well being of your animal, then you should try Jefferson Park. Dr Mandell addresses my concerns and actually takes the time to explain things to me, so I understand exactly what and why we are doing something. I appreciate the care I receive here, as well as the care my pets receive- from all of the staff.

Dr. Mandel at Jefferson Park Veterinary Clinic cares about your pets health and well being... She was willing to get our chihuahua Gabby in for dental surgery with-in 10-days removing 3-teeth after our regular vet declined treatment due to Gabby's age of 16 (they recommended a dental specialist which required waiting 6-weeks for a basic exam and then another month for a surgery date). She has also called and texted several times to check up on her progress and given further recommendations for her care in the past 3-days. I have know Dr. Mandel for over 25-years and I can't recommend her and her staff enough...a place you can trust to have your pets best interest at heart. PS: the procedure was also fairly priced vs. other quotes we received.

Knowledgeable and caring doctors who take great care of my senior cat. They don't recommend lots of high priced tests and treatments, only what is necessary.

I wanted to make this for the vet who quite literally YELLED at me on the phone when I brought my dog in to be checked about her weight, I was concerned about how much weight she was gaining and the vet YELLED at me for her being overweight like it’s my fault like I made her that way, she went on for about 20 minutes telling me how she needed to go on a diet and how horrible I am for letting her get that way, she suggested my dog only eat 1/4 cup ONCE A DAY. Come to find out after I took her to vca natomas instead, they did BLOOD WORK and found out my dog actually had a thyroid problem so her being overweight wasn’t even my fault and she definitely needed a lot more than just a diet ma’am, my dog has to take a thyroid medicine every 12 hours, so screw you for being COMPLETELY unprofessional and unhelpful in figuring out what was ACTUALLY wrong with my dog.

Love this veterinary clinic and truly grateful to have Dr Mandel as my kitties veterinarian. Recently one of my fur babies got extremely sick and had to be seen by the emergency veterinarian, twice. I asked that the records be transferred and Dr Mandel texted me personally on a Friday to check on Mitzy. The records indicated that she had over a 105 fever at the ER vet measured during intake. A fever they had not mentioned to me when suggesting that an ultrasound was indicated ($2500 went to the ER vet over 2 visits). Dr Mandel prescribed antibiotics and went out of her way to get me fluids over the weekend so I could keep her hydrated subcutaneously. Mitzy is well now and I am so grateful for the care she’s received at Jefferson Park veterinary clinic. They are doing a fantastic job! Highly recommended.

JeffPark takes awhile, most likely a result of lockdown, and a bit pricey but Dr. M is the best and you get what you pay for. Bailey was one of her first patients 9 and a half years ago, just six months old and could fit in the palm of your hand. She wouldn't be here now without her. Saved her bacon more than once since. I'd go as far as to say with Dr. M you get several vets in one, with her extensive degrees and training. Love our chats. Staff is great as well. The best for your furry companion.

I really like the care when my dog is there. However, three times now I have been told I would be called back later that day never to receive call. Two times it was for refills but the last time was last week I called about my dog being in pain. No call back. Really? An animal in pain? Otherwise it would be 5 stars. Update: I spoke with the Vet today. It turns out they had my number wrong. Five stars for sure.
