Had to review my review again as I feel something has changed for the better. The quality of the food that's coming out of the kitchen has improved. The plates are not as cold as previously stated in my last review of the place. Staff are and have always been friendly and helpful and the only thing I can say is I do miss when someone used to come to my table and ask if everything was okay with the meal. The removal of this personal touch has probably been made from way up above but it was nice and at times important. Overall I think the establishment is working constantly to improve their standards and that deserves a few more stars.

Weatherspoons Bury St Edmunds: Wow what a building. Nearly walked past this magnificent building when we noticed the signage. Entry can be through a side door for disabled and those with prams. Otherwise a grand entry at the front of the building by two side staircases. Large airy building, good seating spaces with comfortable chairs. Absolutely packed with people. Inexpensive menu with selection of basic meals and snacks. Drinks pricing very competitive. Note your table number, then order at the bar. Staffing and waiting time excellent, no long queues even at 12 noon. Toilets modern and clean. An experience worth having. Enhanced by the heritage of a well kept building!

Food was cold and onion rings greasy Ordered burgers for 2 of us. Would had more in a happy meal. We was very disappointed with the size of the portions. Chips where few big chips mixed with all the bits that are wafer thin.

This is the only wetherspoons I love. The building is to die for, we were very impressed with the food and level of service. It came in good time despite being packed. Great value for money in a 5 star setting. The toilets did let it down a bit with 3 toilets blocked.

Go to place for affordable meals. Great service, and usually well staffed. There's lots for choice on the menu and food is delivered to the table quickly. Cheap and cheerful 😊.

Lovely spacious Wetherspoons. We only has pizzas but service and the food were great. 10 times better than our local Spoons in Yorkshire.

Am sitting in wetherspoons now, The Corn Exchange, cheap drinks, lovely meal but absolutely no atmosphere. Service at bar very basic, no friendly smile. Same with food order at our table .They brought it, placed it, no smile and went. Collected plates after meal not so much as ' how was your meal?' Just dragged plates off table and went, I called after them that I had enjoyed the meal but they just looked at me and carried on no reaction at all. Staffing needs to be looked at. Not friendly at all just doing a job. Disappointing, staff need train8ng on customer service.

What a beautiful building. There was 8 of us out on Saturday after a Christmas meal and we wanted somewhere we could sit down drink and talk with each other. We managed to find a few tables to push together but had to go begging for chairs. There was an app to use to order drinks which was great unfortunately the staff member bringing us the drinks didn't know what drinks they were giving to us. To be fair they looked kinda startled as if it was their first day. Although the architecture is beautiful it does feel a bit like a dinner hall as there was no music so after a round of drinks we went off in search of somewhere else with a bit more atmosphere.

I would like to give this place zero stars. Attended with 4 other people, in their 50s and a jumped up waiter got upset because we were chatting to the table next door and trying to start a Mexican wave on a Saturday night where the vibe was quite lively. We were denied drinks (2 rounds in) and asked to leave all because the waiter had a power trip and the manager is a spineless fool. Will not be coming here again along with a number of guest in our vicinity who felt it was absolutely ridiculous.

We only ordered a kids burger & chips & 2 hot drinks, we waited 50 minutes for her food, when I asked if food was coming out I was informed it was going to be remade, food was refunded which we appreciated. When food arrived burger was burnt & bun stale so my daughter only ate the chips which she did enjoy.

Food was 35 minutes coming out and arrived with a burnt (and that’s not an exaggeration) onion bhaji. Curry was luke warm and the chicken was not cooked properly. We sent the meal back. Waited and waited. In the meantime, because it was taking so long, my partner had to go and feed the parking meter. And still we waited. In the end he went to the bar to see where the food was and nobody had done anything about it. We asked for a refund and , to be fair, we got one. However, worst Wetherspoons we’ve ever been in. Easier to get a refund than a hot meal!
