Was craving sushi… Ya know that feeling when you have a desired taste and really want it to be satisfied on a Friday night after a long week and this is your first time eating out. Ehhh, this isn’t quite that place for takeout sushi. Some details. First time here. Ordered online for pick up- Friday night you get it. Gave me a pick up time 5:44pm, I waited in the parking lot cause it was packed, walked in and was given the bag quickly all tied up. Drove 20 more minutes in traffic home… Now for the lacking stars. Value for the $. Lacking 1 star- $60 total to go bag and 1 small clear container of wasabi and ginger- with 5 chop sticks. Those small condiments make the meal! Bottom line. I’ll probably try them again for a dine in experience, but that was not the $60 Friday night-wife-tells-you-to-get-dinner to satisfy the sushi craving spot. Thanks

One of the best sushi joints I've been to. I like my rolls spicy with a bit of lemon or lime and these rolls delivered. We had 5 rolls. The Lucky 7, Daizee, Vampire, Dragon fly and the Kamikazee. The Calamari appetizer was super good too. Next time I'm in Salt Lake City I will definitely be here.

If you love sushi as much as I do this is another great place to come and enjoy. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Favorite appetizers are the dragon balls and the jalapeño bomb. I've tried many different rolls and sashimi, all are great. They have amazing pho and the portions are awesome too.

Favorite sushi place in Utah so far! Awesome bento choices too! I’m always hesitant to try sushi places that are not close to the ocean. We moved from the Florida coast where fishermen would dock their boats and haul the fish right up to the chef and they’d start cleaning and scaling them right away. Doesn’t get much fresher than that. However, Fat Fish has made me a believer that in a desert like Utah, delicious sushi can be made. If you don’t like sushi, they have great bento and the Korean short ribs were some of the best I’ve had here. Don’t feel like any of those? It’s okay, they have Pho!! Bring an appetite because they are huge. Really wish this place was closer to me but we don’t mind the 30ish minute drive to get here. Stamp of approval from: @longtravelers

We saw the reviews and had to see if the place was legit. Lucky for us it was! Waitress was very cordial. Recommended Yellow Tail, kamikaze and devil down roll 😈. Glad we got the recommendations. I loved the yellow tail. It had lemon, jalapeño, cucumber with some togarashi on the top. It was so refreshing! I’d also say the devil down was so unique. It had salmon, cream cheese, jalapeño and onions. If you haven’t been here, it’s worth a try. We also got a bento box that had some tasty teriyaki chicken, although it was a little over cooked. The cherry on top was the molten lava cake with whipped and ice cream 🤤 If you have room for dessert, get it!

This is my place to go to for a quick sushi fix!! This time I got the special roll Mariachi and it was delicious, staff is always welcoming and friendly. Never fails, go get yourself some good sushi rolls.

Love this place! Great food, fresh fish. The bento was really tasty, meat was tender. Rolls were creative and wellmade. Will definitely be back!

Sushi is not the best sushi in town but definitely good, bento box is delicious and generous servings, pho is really good. The place is clean and service is excellent. Will definitely come back and recommend.

Been here multiple times and never been disappointed. They are always busy so make sure to be there early to be added to the waitlist. The food took a bit and the appetizer came at the same time as the food but they were SUPER busy and tried their best. For as busy as they were it wasn't even a long wait. They were super professional and friendly and the food was so good as always. They have my favorite Thai iced tea, their calamari is always good and their sushi is amazing. I will always come back.

One of my best friends introduced me to this place a few years ago. It was the first Pho I'd ever tasted, and after trying Pho in several states and a few countries since then, it is still my favorite. I order the P12, steak and meatballs, and the Albacore Garlic roll, and they are always delicious. I added the deep-fried King Kong roll on my last visit, and it was delicious as well.

Been coming to Fatfish since they very first opened!!! I remember when they only had the front part open before they opened the back part. There was never enough tables because there was constantly a line out the door! THATS HOW DELICIOUS THEY ARE. The sushi is amazing, by far my favorite sushi place. BUUUUUUUT, you guys!!! The BENTO boxes are also so freaking yummy! Overall, this place is 10/10. No questions asked! Come here for your new favorite sushi spot! 😋😋😋

fast food sushi. on a scale from 1 to 10, sushi was about a seven. Service was not that great. Felt like they wanted you to get in and get out quickly.

My husband and I were looking for a sushi place down in the West Valley area. Came across this place on a simple google search and picked them based off the photos of the food that were posted and checked out their menu on the website. They did NOT disappoint!!! Everything was amazing. The kamikaze roll was recommended by our server when we couldn’t decide on another roll since they all look so good! It took me on a flavor adventure to eating street tacos on a beach in Mexico. I highly recommend and will definitely make the 40 minute drive again!

The food was excellent. Bit pricy, but then we also tried SO many different and delicious dishes! It was fresh, made to order, and awesome! For sure, I would recommend it to anyone who loves good sushi!! Great dinner date night with my kiddos 💕

Wonderful lunch at Fat Fish! The service seemed a little slow. But the Vampire and Westside rolls were fantastic! Excellent flavor and great presentation! Definitely among the best sushi I've had.

Fat Fish is the sister to Sapa in Salt Lake City. I was excited to eat that sushi without the wait of being seated and the higher prices. I was happily surprised. A bit disappointed they didn’t have the executive roll. But others were delicious and tasty. Food came out in a timely manner. Sushi was well prepared and tasted fresh. We ordered the Venus roll, Low rider, mars and sunset. Soda was kept full. Water wasn’t so much. However we are fast water drinkers so maybe we went through it quicker than others! The atmosphere was chill and open. I liked being seated right away and loved being given a real menu with clear pictures.

I loved this place! Fast, courteous service, our waiter Mario was fantastic; amazing atmosphere; the food was delicious! Prices are great and convenient hours. I highly recommend!

I wish I would have gotten a better picture. I have been going here for 9 plus years and service is always great even during covid the service was great. The servers are always nice and we're always greeted, They remember us when we dine in which is great. This young man Jonathan I always see working hard heard I'm doing such a great job a great job never complaining always smiling This is why I wish I would have gotten a better picture. This is the place to eat it's handicap accessible you can easily fit wheelchairs in to the tables, It is so perfect for lunch a to go snack we'll snack a romantic dinner or anything you can think of and any reason to just get away and go and eat. I love that this place is continued to be open.

The staff is very friendly and the service is quick even when the restaurant is crowded. The sushi is tasty and they do have options to accommodate a gluten-free diet. It is very nice to have quality sushi in West Valley City!

Fat fish never disappoints. Best sushi place in the area by far there’s no competition. Today was particularly amazing thanks to our waiter, Mario. He was so attentive and intuitive to attend to our meal and offer recommendations. He listened to our taste profiles and made sushi matches in tastebud heaven. He offered “chopstick helpers” to the kids and added his own touch to every visit back around to the table. He gave friendly, professional, and all around the best service we’ve ever had. Go for the sushi by all means, but the ambiance and service at Fat Fish will leave you wanting to experience this place again and again.
