Nice Castle, interesting history's about the danish and Schleswig-Holstein war. Missing in some areas info's about the exhibited pieces. (Actual Panels with written information on it) Who like's a audio guidance - this is your place. Nevertheless, only two stars awarded for the disgusting rudeness of the lady guardian from the second floor.

This is a really beautiful and Peaceful place in Glücksburg, a definitely not to miss castle if visiting the North of Germany. Situated only 9km from Flensburg, it's a 10-15 min drive to the North/East. There are plenty of hiking opportunities in Glücksburg and a ton of small cafes and Restaurants, beach and swimming is all in walking distance.

Ok. Nice placenand surroundings. Not very many items in the exhibitions, but overall ok. Impossible to visit if you can't walk in stairs. No elevators or similar. Very little information in any other language than German.

This is a gorgeous castle with four corner towers. The exhibition is spanning hundreds of years of the castle history. The people working here are very kind and helpful. Exhibitions run from the cells and torture rooms in the basement to the exhibition on the third floor.

Beautiful fairy-castle on the water, with park and rosarium nearby. Nice place to spend a few hours. Parking and entrance to the castle with a charge.

This is an amazing location showcasing architecture and wealth of the period. The ticket price is so worth it to have multiple floors of exhibits. The pipe organ in the chapel is exquisite. There are recreated family rooms and many placards with family trees showing the relationships with European royal families.

We'll be careful of sites claiming this castle is open until 6pm in the summer time. It isn't. Closes at 4. Wish I could have seen the inside

My recent visit to Glücksberg Castle in North Germany was nothing short of delightful. I embarked on a picturesque journey, taking a ferry from Flensburg port to reach this historical gem, and the 45-minute ride offered breathtaking views of the surrounding waters. Glücksberg Castle itself is a charming piece of history, nestled in a serene setting. The castle's architecture is captivating, and the well-maintained grounds make for a pleasant stroll. While I didn't have the opportunity to explore the castle's interior during my visit, the exterior alone is worth the trip. The tranquility of the location and the proximity to the water create a serene atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxing day trip. I would highly recommend Glucksberg Castle to anyone seeking a tranquil escape with a touch of history.

Nice castle with a Danish history. The architecture is not exceptional but there is an audio guide (in English) with interesting anecdotes and cultural explainations. I would advise to get the audio guide (1st floor) at the beginning of your tour. The castle is used for birthday and private events so there are rooms dedicated to childrens ... All in all a pleasant experience.

The most beautiful place to have a wedding. I've never seen such outstanding castle together with schloß Park. The hiking through the park feels quite magical.

Very uniquely built castle/palace in the middle of a lake with historical rooms and a playful and interesting exhibition style with Mannequins. The staff was extremely friendly and gave me patiently a good explanation of the connections of this noble family to various royal households as there were most prominently the Danish, then English and the Prussian Royals.

Nice atmosphere and landscape. The architecture of the building is beautiful from the outside. In the inner part, you can see nice details which correspond to the time it was built. There are also some elegant and interesting wood and iron pieces to see. However, some furniture make you wonder if it really belongs to the castle. Some rooms are really nice organised, others are not that interesting.

Castle by the lake Pretty rustic, not at all like the photoshopped pictures online but it is beautiful

Nice Schloss to visit. They had an interesting collection of artifacts and various activities for kids as well. The mannequins are a bit scary though. They either look like the Beatles or poor western actors hahaha!

Glücksburg is such a cozy and idyllic village and Lyksburg Castle is the main attraction. It's such a peaceful place with great walks around the park and castle, or you can enjoy a treat or a cup of coffee at the cozy coffee right next to the water. Be aware that parking costs 2 euro which can only be paid with coins (yes, even payment is from the Middle Ages), and the last tour of the castle is at 15. Definitely worth a visit if you're around Flensburg.

Beautiful place to visit with family. We paid the family ticket, which was affordable for 6. Many beautiful things to see inside and have a pleasant walk around the castle.

Castle is very nice, not like the ones in Bavaria, but interesting to visit. There is a lake next to it, so you can walk around and enjoy the nature. Ticket was 10 euros in February 2023. There is a parking in front of it.

This castle is definitely worth a visit. We were there in the winter season so there weren’t really a lot of tourists. The water in the surrounding lake was quite still so you could see the reflection of the castle which was quite magical. You can also buy tickets for 6€ to go inside the castle, but for us, the outer view was enough as we were just passing by anyway.

Down to earth castle with lots of information and authentic material. Not pompous at all, very child friendly.. For them highlight are the o evershoes you can use to slide the great red hall.

Love place in idyllic surroundings entrance price to the castle is very fair just below 10 euros. Small cafe with outdoor seating, friendly staff small but very good selection of cake and snacks and coffee. Castle was great tk visit many interesting rooms and some great historic items. Outdoor playground for the children. Toilets in nice clean conditions. All in all a place where the whole family can go.

Beautiful building, an exhibit in its entirety, all floors. Note that to get in, you need to buy a ticket at an office in the courtyard on the way to the Castle, tickets aren't on sale at the castle entrance itself. The castle/museum is very well maintained and presented, and is informative also on the history of Europe, the ramifications of the Royal Families marrying into each other and so on. A very impressive, well maintained and attractive building and exhibition, from the dungeon & torture chamber in the 'basement', to the servants quarters and military sections in upper floors and 'loft'. Well worth a day out, and perhaps a picnic in the beautiful surrounding gardens.
