I'm not sure what's going on with the meat here but it's pretty bad. After buying a 12.99 slab of spoiled ribs that smelled like something out of this world , I make sure to check the dates now. Today is 4/19/23 and 90% of the meat has 4/20/23 sell by dates for full price. Would not reccomend.

I really HATE that they moved the pet food way across the store! I don't want to walk past the bedding, tools, kitchenware, etc., to get to the pet food. It should be by the people food like it used to be. I'm not going to be making that long trek across the store to buy food for my dogs, cats and birds. I've used Chewy before and I think I'll continue to buy from them. Heck, they have great prices and will bring it to my door in a great box! Unless Meijer moves the pet food back where it belongs, I won't be buying it from them any more. And, the set up of the store is just horrendous! Who planned that? The same people who planned the floor plan for the Westland Big Lots? That's a fiasco, too! Come on, Meijer, put the pet food where people can buy it when they shop for their own food!

Man on speaker is extremely rude at the end of the night. He was yelling at people and telling them to get in line at the end of the night I mean while there was one cashier and the line was backed up like crazy. He should have got off the PA and got down there and opened up a line. Finally a nice young girl came and helped out. Got us out of there thanks to her no thanks to the manager who is screaming at everyone every 5 minutes he needs to get talked to from his superiors because it makes me not even want to shop here and I'm sure other people think the same I've heard talk about it actually. Makes me not even feel welcome there at all. They're going to lose a lot of customers like that.

Always busy no matter the time! The prices are ridiculous but they usually have quality. The remodel is trash they made it so you come in and out at the same location so customer traffic is unavoidable. They have 12 items or less checkouts still time consuming. Usually low on cashiers, and the unlimited self scan with the long belt creates a long line of ringing your own items and bagging them up.. i feel like a republican must be the owner of this store because if you don’t have the time and money to shop here DON’T. They put all that money into remodeling when the customer experience is still horrible!

Let me know if this makes sense to you. Over 50 people in line at 2 registers. All the self check outs are shut down.

I mostly have good experiences at this location.. however i do wish that the deli would go back to the tickets so customers know who is next and next and next in line etc. Also, so that if i am the 4th person waiting, for example.. i dont waste time just standing there. I would rather go grab something while i wait. Time is to valuable when you work 7 days, Thank you

This meijer location has been a staple in my shopping for years. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Management has been helpful when I've needed assistance. Store seems to stay pretty clean and organized. They are set to get this store location updated this year which will make the store more efficient

Great store! Where I usually go for all my certain items that are hard to find anywhere else. But maybe you guys should get another company to sweep your lot if they can't wait until the place closes to do so.. like they're supposed to. This guy is flying up and down rows that full of cars! He's already not really sweeping anything anyway. Just blowing dust all over the parking lot.. nearly an hour before they close. And had the nerve to be driving recklessly and over the same areas over and over again. He just got you all 3 stars deducted; I didn't know if my car was safe while I was in the store.

This is my primary store....it's okay.....not great, but not terrible. They have everything I need in stock at least 70 percent of the time. Store employees tend to keep to themselves unless you engage them first.. One of my major gripes about this store (which is minor I guess) is that they don't seem to change the ink cartridges enough in the receipt printers. I scan my receipts for several different shopping apps ( iBotta, Receipt Hog, Fetch, etc....) and the majority of the time, this store's receipts are unreadable and unusable. This store is currently in the middle of a much needed refresh so some items in the store have been moved around.

I hadn't been on that side of town in ages, but while I was out I stopped for gas and ran in for a few things. It's much cleaner than it was 5 years ago. The lay out changed so I was bit confused on the placement of things, but surprised it was clean...

Everytime I go in this store. I’m never greeted but clearly hear them speaking to others. It’s never cleaned. And the employees are extremely rude. I’ve been followed for no reason at all. Definitely feel I’ve experienced racially profiling, when I use self checkout the worker keeps asking questions about my items and stand their and watch me. I shop for my family of five, aswell as my sick mother. I don’t like feeling attacked while trying to shop. I don’t like going to a cashier and holding up the line with my different transactions, so I do it myself and would like to do it peacefully. Will definitely be shopping elsewhere!

Discusting! The clerk doing the self check out. James. Was asked by the nice lady next over. Why the sale did not ring. He said, you have the wrong size and walked away. She called him back, she wanted the right size. After she went. He stated.. " if these people would learn to read it wouldn't be a problem" I could not believe it. I said hey, no reason to say that about that woman, and disparage her when she went to get the correct size. If I had not rung up my stuff, I would have walked out. Treat us seniors like this. I won't be back ! 10.30.22 1 pm

Recently I went to this Meijer to redeem a $10 discount coupon and remembered why I seldom shop here. The checkout line was LONG and the Cashier didn’t even say “thank you” after the groceries were paid for. (To be fair, I might speculate that some other customers had become impatient with her before she had the chance to wait on me… hard to say.) There’s another reason to dislike this store; it has too many rude customers who like to cheat me out of my rightful place in the checkout line. It works like this… A man goes to the Westland Meijer with his wife or significant other. When the husband is just a couple minutes away from filling a shopping cart, he dispatches his wife to hold a place in the checkout line. After I finish collecting groceries, I scout the checkout lines to find the shortest and ultimately find myself standing behind the wife, who is holding a single item or perhaps nothing at all. That’s when the husband rolls up with a full shopping cart and pushes in front of me. Maybe it’s best that I seldom shop here, because the next time someone pulls this cute stunt on me, I’m likely to be thrown out of the store for making a scene. I have a low tolerance for rude people. On a more positive note, prices are reasonable here. Stock clerks and administrative personnel are polite. As with all Meijer stores the restrooms are clean. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, then maybe this store works for you.

Been a while (years) since I been in this one, the difference was incredible, lots more room, way more products (looks like) and always someone to help customers with questions! Very good job & ideal shopping!

I wanted to give it a full five stars but when it comes to customer service in some areas its very unsatisfactory especially in the deli area, one woman imparticular will complain to customers about her co workers and having to work and also has a very terrible attitude when taking care of customers orders the deli area is reqlly lacking team work there's almost always a super long wait and then finally when you get waited on the deli worker will make you feel bad for being there. As for all other areas no issues checkout isn't bad alot of friendly cashiers that work hard and are friendly. Overall I enjoy shopping here minus a few certain areas I already mentioned. It's a one stop shop and a nice atmosphere to shop in.

Best for all our daily required things. Within budget and fast - self checkouts. Sections are comparatively organised and often have discounted sales.

I visited this store today and went through the garden department. Your employee Joshua W. who was working the check out was a complete joy. He was so sweet and helpful. I just wanted to take a minute and get on here to express what a wonderful experience I had with him, because great customer service is hard to find!

While server issues cannot be controlled, Samantha our Meijer associate handled the situation in a pleasant and professional manner. Her calm attitude even while handling our issue and fielding calls from other associates made the experience bearable. Kudos to the management staff at the Westland Meijers.

The bottle returns were all down except 2, and of course, they were full. After about 30 minutes of waiting around, we finally started working through the line that had formed. I'm just glad I was at the front of it!

In Westland on Warren: so far, so good after the big remodel. The store looks great, but more importantly, the lines were manageable the two times I've been there (I had been completely fed up before the remodel with the wait to check out). Hopefully that will continue to be so!

Nice place. Quite impressive. I used to shop there when it was being renovated. Love the new look and ease of navigating around in the store 👍

Went to purchase a couple of fish for my pond and no emplyees were around so i called twice on the red phone and no 1 answered. My brother called for assistance on his cell. They said someone was on thier way. No 1 showed. 4 calls on my cell phone later and 3 times were hang ups on meijer end and a walk up to the customer desk. Still no one show from employee. 25min later we were leaving while i was on hold again for manager and I asked the greeter on my way out where the mng was located she didnt know. They finally answered when i was leaving the parking lot. And they i used my business voice with 2 different gentleman on the other end asked if they were short handed, they never said. Told them they need to manage like managers should. I guess just because u remodel doesn't make it a better store.

The construction is mostly complete, but the new lights in the produce area still give me migraines. Regardless, still my preferred grocery store. Well-lit, clean, decent selections, decent quality store brand products, friendly and compassionate cashiers.

At the time I went (September 2022) the construction going on at this location made getting to a parking spot a nightmare. There are just too many people for the entrance that is open and all that is going on with the construction here. I had to use the restroom very badly, due to my cancer. There were no signs and the only one I found after walking through the back of the store was hidden away near the customer service desk. The store is huge, but with no directions it was maze like. It may be a better location after the construction, but for now I'll go elsewhere for any purchases.

How impressive haven't been in the Westland store in years They are remodeling the whole building. It's one of the biggest I've been in you couldn't see from one end to the other. It would take one week go through every isle. Worker every were maybe 100 or more I was in awe! Way to go Meyers!

The new remodel looks awesome! The store is set up where things are easy to find unlike before. This store has almost everything you could possibly think of. I shop here once a week if not more. And if you haven't shopped here before I would recommend shopping here.

Have been gone for a bit and come back to a new store!! Obviously everyone loves it, as I stopped in early and they were restocking like mad. The new self checkout reminds me of the models in Europe, I think it works great and will help with rush hour flow. Lovely & helpful checkout staff assisted with my order. Fabulous!!

Meijer on the weekend is always busy, but the store is always well stocked and merchandised. Today's visit necessitated a small selection of groceries, beauty supplies, and household organization items. While my wife was shopping for those items, I was filling up the car with fuel at the Meijer gas station. Using my Meijer credit card saved me $.10/gallon! All businesses are challenged with open positions. Things take longer, so be kind to all employees you see. They're making it possible for you to shop there!
