I love this Bandstand as it represents some find architectural design from the Victorian era. Looks even better in the Winter. So to quote some historical facts about this bandstand. Queen Victoria gave permission for music to be played in Kensington Gardens in 1855. But before a concert could take place, permission was rescinded because of protests from the Archbishop of Canterbury, who said music in the gardens would be "unseemly", and the Keeper of the Privy Purse who thought working people could do without band concerts. The first bandstand was eventually erected in 1869.

Lovely peaceful area to relax in. Slightly off the beaten tourist path. A nice area for children and dog walkers. There is also a nice cafe near the street entrance.

Meet me by the bandstand! Kensington Gardens, off the beaten path. Ideal dog walkers. Close to the main entrances but further from the food options so there are less people around. Lovely peaceful park to relax in.

Very nice! Had a good time, but closing wasn’t accurate, it closes about 9-9:30 rather than 8:15pm. How can be different at different times of the year

Just a quieter corner of Kensington Gardens, it's still close to the main entrances but being a little further from the pond and the food options, there are less people around. Nice open area and we were able to stay there for ages given the warm weather.
