Bun bo hue had no flavor AGAIN, and definitely not authentic, so i was very disappointed. As you can see from my picture, it looks just like plain old soup broth, not the dark spicy & flavorful broth that bun bo hue is famous for. The meat was extremely tough & impossibleto chew, so I tossed that to the side. Another disappointing visit of many here. Their saving grace is their banh beo, but it's nearly impossible to screw that up. It seems that they offer less dishes of banh beo per order too. Their MI Quang was really good the first time I had it a few years back, but the next two times I had it, it was so bland, watery, and sucked so bad, I never ordered again. The food here is extremely inconsistent, so if you're ever craving a certain dish, and must have the real deal, go somewhere else. It's 50/50 gamble here. This has happened to me numerous times when I come here, no matter what I order, it could be pretty good one day, then totally sucks the next few visits. I'll probably only come here for banh beo, and bun this nuong, since they're both easy to make, and doesn't require talent in the kitchen. Their prices have gone up quite a bit. We usually pay around $37 each time we come, but this time it was about $50. Needless to say, we were pretty shocked when they rang us up. They did change their hours to stay open till 9pm, from the ridiculous early hours before. They were taking last call at 7:30pm, and closing by 8pm up until recently. Eat here if you like to gamble.

After seeing 4 stars from over 1000 reviews we figured this restaurant would be promising. Perhaps it was really good years ago but our suggestion is to read the current reviews. The starters were delicious and fresh. Our entrees looked beautiful but lacked seasoning and flavor. Besides the chicken being cold, it was even paired with cold rice. The soup tasted like room temperature tap water. Only reason we gave it an extra star was for the starters.

Went here for brunch. Nice decors & prompt service. Foods were very good, especially the Banh Beo and My Quang. Large portions. Delicious. Ice sweet coffee was perfect - strong & sweet.

Update: Came back for more dishes. One little note: shrimp on bánh bèo had muddy flavor in some farm-raised seafood. Same good service, ty This restaurant specialized in the central region of Viet food. We came there twice in two days to try different dishes. The host gave us warm welcomes both times, he intentionally chose a good table to give us some space from others (when he could). On our first day, we tried vegan yellow rice noodle #15 and vegan lemongrass rice noodles #14. Didn’t like #15, just a note to their chefs: there was a strong flavor coming from either (1st guess) too much of vegan mushroom seasoning, it likely gave this flavor in more concentrated broth or in fried rice if too much of it, and/or (2nd guess) quality of the noodles. I personally loved #14, the broth and other ingredients was great, best lemongrass Hue vegan noodle soup I had ever had (there might be mushroom seasoning in this also but not detected maybe cuz in clear, not concentrated broth), liked their fresh herbs/veggies. On our 2nd day, we tried and liked both #17 jackfruit salad (too little of jackfruits but still enjoyed other fresh ingredients in it) and #23 salmon with crab, shrimp cake soup noodles. I couldn’t find any crab in the bowl and couldn’t taste any crab in their shrimp cake either, it was still great though. Just being a little critical for their chefs to be aware. Overall, we liked our experiences, will come back

They're famous for Banh Beo, steam rice w/shredded shrimp. Most dishes has shrimp. Very tasty, good service.

I heard this restaurant is famous for bun bo hue. Honestly, I'm underwhelmed. I ordered the special one and the portion was not worth the price. The broth was average and there was little bun inside. I will not come back.

The ice coffee was pretty strong. Steamed rice cakes, yellow noodles, fried rolls were delicious. This place is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Prices were reasonable for the quality and portions.

Delicious bun bo hue with great tasting soup. Didn’t even need all the aromatics like mint and basil to supplement. The Vietnamese iced coffee is super strong too! They have outdoor dining so plenty of space to socially distance! Come try it out! They have a vegetarian one next door too owned by them if that is better suited for you!

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Bolsa. Fresh & flavorful food. The staff is sooooo kind. From the front door to us sitting down to even us leaving, one of the chefs walked us out & wished us a great day. They truly know what customer service it.

Good place when we were craving banh beo! I got the hu tieu which also hit the spot. Quick and nice service. Bit pricey but maybe that’s just Cali in general.

I could have given them 5 stars. However, I ordered an appertize which I think they could have heated up before serving it. I expected it to be hot, but it's cold so I was a little disappointed. Overall, the food was very good.

One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants! Of course come here for the banh Beo. Their noodle dishes are great too, well known for Bun Bo Que and banh canh. They also have solid drinks Vietnamese iced coffee and coconut juice. It’s your typical Vietnamese service though, so don’t expect much in that department. I called to make a reservation in advance and that didn’t go smoothly. When we showed up the lady was just so confused. Ended up having to put our name down on a wait list but it was ok, not much of a wait anyway! I have so many bad words for the parking. So crowded and of course we went on a Saturday. Wait staff we had to flag down several times for the basics like utensils and dishes. But the food more than makes up for it!!! The decor is higher end than your average hole in the wall spot. It looks nice inside, with a pond and fish tank. Clean and modern looking. Sanitary. Lol!

We used to love coming here a long time ago each time we visited OC, once upon a time when the waitlist was very long. After a few years of hiatus from exploring other eateries, we decided to revisit to see whether our favorite banh beo, banh it, and com hen remain great. We previously tried bun bo hue and other items but those were not memorable. I enjoyed the "fresh" chopped shrimp here vs the dry shredded shrimp at other places. The fish sauce, the most important ingredient IMHO, continues to be consistently good-banh beo 4.5*. The banh it wasn't hard or too mushy, 4*. The com hen, clam soup, and "special nam" sauce appeared consistent and great, 4.5*. Of course prices increased similar to many other eateries...even McDonald's and In N Out burgers went up due to the higher wages. So no fault of the restaurant I supposed. Overall, we would return for our main favorite items only.

I can see this restaurant getting busy. Luckily when we went, there was seating right away! We got the staple (#1 on the menu) Banh Beo. Made really well, flavors are good, the sauce it comes with is good but it actually tasted better with the nuoc cham sauce that came with eggrolls. Eggrolls (#9 on the menu) were very tasty! Came with the perfect leafy greens and leafy herbs. Wish the fry on them was crispier though. And we also got the Banh It Ram (#6 on the menu) which again tasted better with the nuoc cham sauce because the sauce it came with was the same as the Banh Beo. If you like the mochi chewy texture with crispy edges, you’ll like these! The filling was really good, definitely could’ve used more. And we tried the Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. Just okay. They jam pack it too much with ice so you barely really even get any coffee. I also go the Pandan Vietnamese Coffee at the end (that menu was only seen at the cash register desk area) it wasn’t on the regular menu. This one was really good. Would order again! Service was really great! Everyone was very nice. Very helpful. Didn’t rush us. Checked in on us. Super sweet with providing what we needed for our togo stuff too! Parking is a super busy free parking lot.

Very good food. Although it was busy for dinner and they only 2 servers, they did a great job and everyone was always taken care of. This is my first time here and I liked everything that we ordered because it was flavorful and not bland nor too salty: - banh beo : fish sauce with cut fresh chilli peppers - bun bo hue : lots of vegetables with a side of chilli oil to make it spicy to your liking - com suon ram : the side of soup was delicious and not just pho broth. The fish sauce has some red chili peppers which gave it just a mild kick. - Vietnamese iced coffee : 3.5/5 stars thoughts of ice and flavor is decent I would come back.

I would say the food is like 9 out of 10. Pretty tasty and delicious👌🏻. But if u already have good food and furnish, pls employee waiter more professional, instead of a bunch of young teenagers knowing nothing and playing phone on the front desk after I looking around asking for ice water twice🤷. Unless it is a family business and they r the son of restaurant owners 🫠. Go for the special shrimp and yellow noodles, it is gooooood🤛🏻
