Absolutely blown away by the food, service, and atmosphere! I brought my wife here for lunch for her birthday, and we will be coming back for sure! The food is mouth-watering, full of flavor and in-house sauces! Dessert, to die for! Drinks perfectly made. Oh, and the corn fritters and pecan rolls are outstanding! All this with an amazing atmosphere filled with local history and phenomenal staff! P.S. don't forget to feed the ducks while you are there.

One of my favorite things about this place is the surroundings and the gardens. This repurposed mill has lush greenery and a large duck pond with a whole lot of water fowl, which is a treat for everybody, especially the kids. They are very family friendly and the service is always cheerful. The dining room is rather bare and looks like it could use an update, but if you get next to a window you can enjoy the view. They also have outdoor seating which is lovely but often full. The food is okay - nothing excellent but certainly fine - the fryer sometimes isn’t up to the task which can leave fried items very oily. It’s a good place to go for the atmosphere and the service, and the food is okay too.

The Old Mill was an experience! The site is beautiful - I'll bet it's perfect for weddings and fun for parties. The standard dinner menu is... a bit dated. Going in, I didn't expect anything fancy, but the menu was a little underwhelming. The (3) meals were average. The baked halibut was a good size, served only with choice of potato or veg, no salad. The teriyaki tips were tough. The prime rib was generous, but slightly over done. The dinner salads were tiny and all condiments were served in plastic portion cups...yuck. An average price of $21 each meal. The Irish Nachos appetizer were perfect. Our server was excellent. Friendly, helpful, and perfect timing. Unfortunately, the men's room was dirty and smelled like urine. Very dingy and unclean.

Like so many before me have said, the setting is wonderful. What a beautiful and rustic step back in time. The food was wonderful as well. This evening I had the Teriyaki Steak Tips served with the squash and a Cesar salad. The steak tips were of a large portion and cooked as ordered, flavored well. The squash was like devouring Christmas on a fork, amazing!

No breakfast or brunch served unfortunately. But the fritters with homemade sweet cream butter and syrup was absolutely delicious with a cup of coffee. The turkey bacon wrap was also very tasty! Views were very pretty

This place was awesome. I got the teriyaki steak tips, and they were tasty. The kids love being able to feed the duck! The water around and the view is a plus!

Great food, beautiful setting. Service is and has always been slow. Go here when you’re not in a hurry or you’ll get irritated. The mill stream, waterfalls and duck pond are something to see.

I held my wedding reception here 21 years ago so I thought it would be fun to go back today. I haven't been in years. They did not disappoint. The service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. I had the stuffed haddock and it was very good but you can't beat the corn fritters and pecan rolls! Yummy!!

it was a very cool place to go and eat. It is so old and so awesome inside and even more beautiful out. sits right on a water fall with ducks living in the water and surrounding area. You cross a bridge to get to the building (there are 2 bridges). Food was really good the pecan sticky bread is crazy and the corn fritters were excellent also(comes out for free).. Waitress was excellent and the blue crab ravioli was pretty good. Overall experience was very good

Place looked BEAUTIFUL!! Decided to go here to lunch on the way home and just happened to find this place and I'm so glad I did! The ducks were adorable and food was great! Atmosphere was so amazing, I hope to be back in the fall!

tl;dr- Okay food made up for by great service and beautiful grounds. Pros- Ducks! The grounds are beautiful. A couple covered bridges and a waterfall. Really well taken care of property that has old world charm. Pecan rolls are even better than you'd think. Seriously, have a few. Maybe take some home too. Parking is readily available across the street and also just off the street parallel to the entrance. Cons- The main course items were underwhelming, best described as "fine". I had high hopes after having starters (pecan rolls!)

Family fun on Easter. Might be a tradition now. First stop was the bar at the pub to kick it off. Bartender lady was great. Stayed about an hour waiting for our 4:30 reservation upstairs. Great spot, pond side with all the wild ducks and geese. Very young looking waitress was excellent on a very busy day. Love the building so much!! Great food and drink.

A hidden gem, on the banks of the wachusett river, ducks for company. This is a classic New England eatery, with some real good options. The Booze was excellent, the martinis right on target, and the burger, salmon, calamari and crab ravioli right on target. A well hidden gem waiting ro be discovered by discerning patrons. You will leave happy.

A good friend recommend this restaurant and we’re very happy we went! The staff were very friendly. We ordered calamari, crab ravioli and shrimp & scallop pasta and let me just say how absolutely delicious they all were. Our friend warned us on the pecan bread and the corn fritters as we might get addicted to it and he was not wrong! They we’re so good! It’s now our new favorite spot! This place is truly a gem.

I've been here a few times now, and it's a really cool place to check out. The historic surrounding, rustic decor, and hometown vibe is worth a trip alone, but the food and service are excellent as well.

Love coming here for the great food and service. Sitting outside and seeing the mill pond with all the views was very beautiful and peaceful. Also, the pecan rolls and the corn fritters with the maple syrup are a delicious!

Honestly I am majorly disappointed. The servers seemed almost sad and we're irritable. And the food wasn't great. The place was filled with very grumpy old people and over all wasn't a great experience. And the refused to serve us outside even though it was 75 degrees. But they did have free duck feed to feed the ducks which was awesome so it gets + one star

The 1761 Old Mill offers comfort food in a rustic, comfortable setting. The portions are large, and the food is delicious. Be sure to check out the gift shop while you're there! An absolute favorite for sure.

Wasn't absolute Delight of a place. From the outdoor atmospheres that was idealic of an Old Mill to the perfect service inside. The only thing that made it even better was the quality of food and the knowledge that they make their own sauces in house. Not only this but the pecan rolls and corn fritters were delectable and served as an appetizer.

Visiting this place for dinner with my husband who used to come here with his family as a kid every Thanksgiving. He hadn’t been back in over 20+ yrs. He said the place still looks the same, as beautiful. The ground is awesome, with the little lake with ducks, waterfall, lovely landscape, two covered bridges which I loved, and enchanting outdoor seating. Our server was a friendly young lady who was very attentive. My husband had a delicious salmon, and I had some soup and salad which were just ok. The fall cocktails were so good. It was the visit that was important for us - for my husband, walking down memory lane. He remembered the corn fritters, the sweet young lady gave us extra pecan rolls for the road (which was his favorite!). I’m so glad we came and if we come to N England again, we will certainly be back at the Old Mill!

We came to the 1761 Old Mill for dinner on our way to Vermont, and might I say this place stole the show of our entire trip. It’s the most beautifully decorated winter cabin. You really feel like you’re in a small Austrian village on the Alps. We were OBSESSED with the corn fritters they bring to the table upon arrival. Butter is a MUST with them! I got the The Famous Chicken and Vegetable Pie, and my partner got the Shrimp and Sausage Tortellini. I can’t even tell you which one is better, both are a must try! On top of it all, the service was lovely. We felt like we were being greeted by our family. Lastly, they have little treats for you as you exit for you to feed the little duckies! I can’t wait to be back here :))
