As
a
venue,
there
is
a
slightly
amateurish
'let's
put
on
a
show'
feel
to
the
Regents
Park
Open
Air
Theatre
that
is
belied
by
the
keen
merchandising
and
marketing
of
food
and
beverages
within.
These
are
pricy,
but
classy.
The
actual
experience
is,
of
course,
entirely
in
the
lap
of
the
weather
gods.
On
the
right
day,
with
the
sun
shining,
this
is
a
green
and
pleasant
theatre
going
oasis
in
the
heart
of
one
of
London's
great
parks.
The
seats
are
(just)comfortable
enough,
and
the
leg
room
(just)
sufficient.
I
was
here
to
see
a
revival
of
Jerry
Herman's
big
and
warm-hearted
musical,
"La
Cage
Aux
Folles'.
Though
decidedly
lacking
in
spectacle
(the
production
often
looked
lost
on
a
large
stage)
it
is
impossible
not
to
like,
even
admire,
the
wonderful
score,
performed
here
with
verve,
charm
and
oomph
by
a
talented
cast.
