I've been scared to come in here for months because it's always so packed, but any place with a line every single day must have something going for it - so I took a few deep breaths, got on with it, and was rewarded with a delicious, well priced meal in a cafe with an awesome (but loud!) environment. Getting through the line and hearing my order be shouted out felt like an achievement whose reward was fresh and tasty lunch! I'll be back here for sure.

English breakfast is a definitely one of the must-try dishes when people visit UK. Regency Cafe, which was awarded the Top 5 restaurants in London by Yelp, serves authentic style with super reasonable price. We had their Set Breakfast Deal (£6.5) with extra Black Puddings, Bubble & Squeak and Hash Browns to share with a group of two. The portion is more than enough and we couldn't even finish the toasts in the set. The food exceeded our expectations and was amazingly good, especially the beans which was creamy & the hush browns which was crispy. Friends told us the taste of black puddings are really scary, but their’s were fine for us. The decor & ambiance is really cool with vintage style and it's also a popular spot for fashion magazine & Instagram photos.

Could not have loved this place more. If you’re looking for some delicious and affordable British food, this is your spot! Perfect breakfast spot for a proper fry up and they also do fish & chips on Fridays only. It was cash only the day we went as their register wasn’t working, so I would bring some cash just in case. Expect a line as well, but it moves relatively fast. You can tell they’ve been serving up good food for a while.

I wanted to get a traditional English breakfast during my very first visit to London last week, and stumbled upon this place while searching online for a place not touristy and ridiculously priced, and I’m glad I did. Regency has the same atmosphere as a local diner in the US; nothing fancy, pretty simple cafe with friendly staff, good food and good prices. I went on a weekday around 10am, and there was no line to get in, and service was pretty fast. I got the set breakfast deal with black pudding and bubble & squeak. I loved everything except black pudding, but that’s probably normal because black pudding is a uniquely weird delicacy :) I would definitely recommend Regency if you’re looking for a simple, traditional English breakfast in a friendly atmosphere where you’re not being ripped off as a tourist especially!

A cozy breakfast place that will transport you back to the old times. Props to the clerk at the front desk, who was extremely friendly and has insane memory that both remembers your order and your face. I am in love with the ambience of this place, the food was descent, tea was made strong like it should be, service is fast and butter pudding with ice cream is definitely a must!! Worth visiting if you want an authentic English breakfast experience, avoid peak times then you won’t need to queue.

Absolutely wonderful establishment. Got the full english with all the extras and everything tasted of quality. Crisp hashbrowns, firm beans, english cumberland with a snap, egg with a runny yolk, bubble and squeak with a char, lightly gamey black pudding, bacon to tie it all together. All delicious without being oily. Coffee with a splash of cocoa was simple yet felt like a treat. The cafe has a great system of allowing people to sit only after ordering. There will most likely be a queue so theres that. Staff were fantastic. Marco the owner is a character with as much charm as the decor, good man. He greets you warmly and calls your name out when breakfast is ready. I came in a visitor and walked out a local.

If you love full British breakfast then you can’t miss this place! It’s a lovely old schools diner with nice warming food. The boss was such a character with amazing memory to record your order.

One of the best restaurants we’ve been to. The man at the counter was super patient with us even though we were very jetlagged and tired. We loved the coffee, sausage, hash browns, and baked beans. We also like how it’s in a quiet and calm part of town. Overall a great British experience.

Absolutely Amazing English Breakfast! Although this place isn’t a large restaurant, it gets people in and out very quickly without a feeling of being rushed. The food was absolutely spot on. Couldn’t of been happier and the price is very affordable.

Great atmosphere. Quick service. Exactly what it says on the tin. Had the corned beef, egg and chips, sugary tea and lots of ketchup.. Definitely worth the visit for the experience of it if nothing else

£6.75 for the breakfast combo. Omg. Very affordable cute traditional English breakfast spot. If you are craving for breakfast, u got the place! Even though they have very long line, it goes pretty fast, so don’t worry. If you are in the area, I highly recommend to stop here. The most impressive thing here for me was that the cashier guy remembers every face with name and order. That is really something for the busy place like that. Definitely will go back there again when I’m in London.

Horrible, horrible place and I have no idea why it has so many positive reviews. Owner is racist and openly perks up at the sight of white people. He pronounced my name wrong so i didn’t understand he was trying to call me to pick up my order. Hence i was a little bit late to react - which prompted him to yell at me (“you’re not listening to me!!”). I wish i could say the food was worth it – it absolutely was not. Bacon was overly salty, so so salty. The rest of the food did not have any salt on it at all. Which was fine i guess, because it made me wash down my bacon easily. Will never recommend to anyone, especially tourists. @screaming white owner, if you know your cafe is frequented a lot by tourists, the least you can do is not yell at them. They’re paying you, aren’t they?

Just £6.75 for a set British breakfast! A rule: line up to order then take a seat and wait for your food. Always long queue outside the cafe. I love the atmosphere there, simple and good quality.

What a deal! Full English breakfast under £10. Good portion, black pudding and tomatoes were nice, but scrambled eggs and the bread weren’t our type. Very traditional. Worth a try if you haven’t visited yet.

The woman behind the counter is an absolute gem. She managed a large queue while remembering every order and accommodated out of towners who were unfamiliar with the system. The breakfast was just as good. We ordered a standard English breakfast. Every item was delicious and cooked perfectly. You wouldn't expect a basic breakfast to be one of your best meals in London, but this place is excellent. Absolute top-notch staff in the front and the back.

Best breakfast including the environment. Can't really affect the waiting crowd, but I loved the place anyway! We had a full breakfast with some extras, it was delicious, warm and fresh. The tea was also great and I just loved the lady at the counter. Best breakfast experience in London!

Outrageously good. Had to queue on a Friday morning but worth it as everything we had was so delicious, especially the bacon, blood pudding, crispy hash browns, and sausages. A perfect plate. We'll definitely be back!

Good place near Victoria to enjoy a true English breakfast. The man taking the orders was really kind and food tasty. The place is packed during weekends (closed on Sundays) so you’d better know that you may queue for a while. In my opinion, even if the experience was worthwhile, it’s true you may find also some other good places in London

Well, I’m an American tourist so our measuring sticks for taste vary from Brit to Yankee don’t it? Not as much as you think actually. It was classic as back home and besides the beans (which is often a puzzling breakfast venture for Americans), it felt mostly like a good breakfast at home, mum’s that is! Toast, thick and buttery, fried tomatoes, beans, thick bacon ham, fresh eggs. I’ll be back tomorrow, this time the shouting lady at the register won’t intimidate me and I’ll get my order out without a stutter. Pray for us? CHEERS to this lovely eatery and our dear friends across the “pond”.

The Regency Cafe is a best bang for the buck breakfast place You can visit. The food is absolutely amazing. There is a wide range of breakfast options to choose from which should satisfy anyone and the portions are large enough so that You won’t be hungry until late afternoon. The lady behind the counter will make sure that You will hear that Your food is ready :) You have to be prepared to see a huge line which ends outside of the cafe but the wait time is only 10-15 minutes.

In hindsight, I expected something different. Nevertheless, it is a great diner, like of which I have never experienced outside London. The food is simple, high quality and good value. For me it is authentic English. If you are curious definitely come.

This spot is fantastic. I ventured there solo for a delightful meal of eggs, beans, chips, and buttered white bread – absolutely delicious. The lively ambiance, bustling with a diverse crowd from residents to police officers, truly captures the essence of London. Amidst the chatter, the absence of laptops and phones felt like a nostalgic step back in time. For anyone craving a classic meal, whether it be breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this place is a must-visit. The woman managing the counter is exceptionally efficient in her role. Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable.

It was very busy but well worth the short wait. The food is excellent and they have everything worked out to an art. It is everything you would hope a London cafe to be without any hipster sheen or pretencious air. It is a proper cafe and should you find yourself in this part of the city I would recommend a visit heartily and without reservation.

Brilliant spot for breakfast, a fast and personal experience. The queue quickly disappears and you'll find yourself ordering, your food will follow quickly after that. You're guaranteed a great breakfast, fast service, and it's a brilliant way to start your day. Highly recommended!

American take: Simple little diner. Order at the counter, take a seat, go pick up your order when it’s yelled out. Don’t be intimidated by the line or the no-nonsense sensibility of the place. Moves quickly and the counter folks are helpful enough if you find yourself confused at the register. Top notch fry up.

Fantastic visit to this proper London cafe, great breakfast and the best cup of tea in town. Always packed with locals and tourists alike, the wait is worth it - even 20 mins out in the rain like today :D. The boss is amazing, treating everyone like an old friend, learning your name in an instant and keeping a check on you. Best value you’ll find, I just wish it was closer to my house so I wouldn’t only come when I’m up in town.

I went with my partner and the food was good. However, the service needs to improve. I ordered my food and, by mistake, they gave it to another customer (it can happen) who started eating from the dish. When they realized, they tried to give me the same dish. When I told the waiter that it didn't seem right, he told me that she had only taken one piece of frech fries. I find it unhygienic and disrespectful.

This is THE place for a true London breakfast experience! Just be ready for a line, as it takes around 45 minutes depending on the time. But it is very well worth the wait! Trust me you will not be disappointed.

A completely authentic local breakfast. You’re here for good vibes and a hearty plate. These guys have been on the block for a long long time, and the walls take you on a trip down memory lane. You’ll find a constant queue, but one that moves quickly. Seating space was adequate for 1pm on a Thursday. The owner was super charming even amidst the busy lunch service, exchanged a couple of words with us tourists, and even yelled our names goodbye on the way out (past the people queueing). A legend of an establishment.

This place is AMAZING! The quality of the food is great and the price is unreal for how good this food is. The eggs Benedict are very fresh: the combination with the wild salmon is super. The sausage egg and bacon are also unreal. I specifically recommend the orange juice which is homemade by them and the hashbrowns. Go early because there is always a line but it is quite fast.

The most probably is that you think that you can't eat this traditional English breakfast, you may have a lot of reasons to think that, but the truth is that the most probably is that you are going to love the food from this place and is not only really good, is not that is cheap too. The place is not elegant, it looks rustic and old way to order and be served but it is part of their style. The miss that takes your order and says loudly with a strong voice that an order came out, she is a nice miss that does an excellent job. There is only one thing that I complain about this place and it is the lack of toilet 🚽 which one seems be necessary for the kind of food that they serve.

The best place ever for an iconic and real English Breakfast, totally worth it. Really tasteful, At the beginning you may think there's no place to sit and eat but believe me, it will be.

Amazing spot for original English breakfast. The food was incredible and you can tell the place stays loyal to its roots, despite its popularity. Lots of locals and working class folks having a meal before going to the workplace. The staff is attentive and friendly.

My favourite London cafe for a full English. The atmosphere is buzzing but the line moves down quick and service is equally as swift. It’s worth a little wait to get your hands on what is arguably the best cooked breakfast in town. Highly recommend!

Amazing ! If you're looking for one of the best English breakfast in town, you chose the right address. The breakfast is delicious, service is welcoming, and there is a great atmosphere there. Fully recommended. If you want the full experience with some extras, it will be around 9 pounds which is very good value for money 💰

Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The lady at the cashier was also extremely polite despite it being very busy in the morning. My favourite item was the black pudding. The cafe also give off old school diner vibes.

I love this cafe. It's changed very little over the pandemic. Love the way the orders are still shouted out when ready. Slightly miss the way they used to include a description of the person who made the order "man in white shirt! Liver and bacon!". But the food great, reasonable prices, really nice atmosphere, and the whole place looks great of course.

Thanks Regency cafe for your great food and hospitality!

  • 5/5 Cecilia F. 2 years ago on Google
A real classic - the café isn’t big, and it’s frequently busy, which makes for a really fun atmosphere. Don’t try to be healthy here - this is somewhere to have proper fry-up sort of food. It’s the definition of cheap and cheerful, and just looks the part of an old-fashioned workers’ cafe perfectly, because it’s genuine!
