We had a great time at Grizedale. There are a number of walks so depending on how much time you have, or how strenuous you want the walk to be, there is something for everyone. We opted for the Grizedale Tarn Trail which was about 4 miles and a moderately gentle walk for the most part. There were some interesting sculptures and art installations along the way as well!

Really like this place. Easy to spend hours here, lots to do for the family. Go Ape was a highlight, helpful and friendly staff and in keeping with the environment. Dog friendly too.

A great base for woodland walks, goape and a rest stop at the cafe. Car parking for all of this and to help upkeep the forest is a bargain at £8. It’s ANPR, which I don’t like as they are capturing your license plate on entry but you have little choice in this area. We hiked up to the Grizedale Tarn which took a couple of hours but was worth it for the view.

There's something in Grizedale for everyone. Whether its small families looking for a stunning walk or those with a wild side looking for a fix at GoApe! The MTB trails are pretty decent. As of the beginning of June the red graded North Face Trail has large parts closed due to fallen trees.

Not impressed with the social distancing, safety talks were poor, too many people in our group so we waited for ages. All-in all not s good day out.

A lovely friendly little campsite, family friendly, in a valley between Coniston and Windermere. Plenty of choice - fields for camping, basic pods, and fully equipped options scattered in the woodlands. Small tents can even camp in the woods. A short drive to nearest shop, but if you're looking for more stripped back camping trip or a base to explore the area its ideal. Very reasonably priced, free showers, logs available and plenty of natural fire pits

We went to this place as we have a young grandson so plenty to do. The place is in a beautiful setting with excellent facilities. Our grandson who is three and a half went on the go ape with his mum and dad. Reasonably priced they had a fantastic time and the staff were amazing with our grandson. Lovely day would highly recommend.

Beautiful place for a family day out. The lumber Jill's exhibition was interesting about women in Forestry, which was a great bonus. The cafe served nice food and coffee. Slightly on the expensive side though.

A relatively quick stop and it was our first time to Grizedale. Great day out with the family. Good amenities are available at the welcome centre including cafe, toilets, picnic area, play area. Loads and loads of trails, we chose the Millwood trail for a casual stroll with a good sized party. The shorter route of this trail is pram friendly. Can't really provide too much info since we have barely scratched the surface but as with many of these outstanding areas, I would like to return.

Absolutely beautiful! Great selection of walks for all ages and abilities. Would recommend 10/10 There's a cafe and toilets on site too

Lovely venue. The waymarkers on the Lilac Trail from Bogle Crag are a bit confusing and don't seem to match the maps properly. It was easy to lose track of the route. The Ridding Wood and Millwood Trails are great - accessible and family friendly. Cafe is overpriced, just like much of the Lake District. Parking is not cheap and the payment machines often have faults or don't give a receipt. No concessions for blue badge holders either. Friendly helpful staff in the Visitors Centre. Worth a visit.

Great place to visit for walks, or on your horse or riding your bike. Various trails to follow. Other activities too. Shops with locally made items, a cafe with great ice cream by English Lakes co. Plenty of parking £8 for the whole day

  • 5/5 Alan C. 1 year ago on Google
Whats not to love, great fire roads for gravel bikes, loops that take you back to the cafe so plenty of stops for coffee and cake ! The views are spectacular too 😁👍

  • 4/5 Andy A. 1 year ago on Google
Nice country walk, a long and a short version which is ideal for little legs. Cafe was nice and a great exhibition in the visitor centre. Parking was very reasonable too

  • 4/5 Kaleel B. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful place. Parking is quite expensive though. Came here for GoApe but spend sometime outside too. Nice little circular walk. Beware, the roads leading to this place are quite narrow... thankfully we were in a smallish hatchbacke.

A beautiful place to visit with a choice of trail lengths so it's suitable for almost everyone.

  • 5/5 Simon G. 2 years ago on Google
Great we did segways, good training and a challenging course 👍, I think maybe it would be good to split into groups novice beginners etc as we spent a fair bit of time waiting for slower members of the group. Kids did goape and they had a great time 😂 🤣

This is a fantastic place to go with kids or just big kids, there is many bike trails all through the forest with different levels of difficulty, also many walking trails as well as Go ape treetop adventure, segways and lots of little sculptures set back from the path all around the forest. At the end of the trails there is also a cafe that sells ice cream pizzas and drinks with kids play area and outdoor seating. Great place really enjoyed our time here

  • 5/5 Jim C. 3 years ago on Google
    Wet lol

  • 5/5 Steve W. 3 years ago on Google
Stunning scenery, beautiful place. Take a picnic and lose yourself in the amazing woodland. Speaking of losing yourself, if you're following a route look carefully for the path markers, at times it gets confusing as to which direction you should go, plus some markers are hard to see. Don't worry about it though, just immerse yourself and forest bathe.
