Beautiful area with many options of different trails to choose from. Well shaded, but rocky and some spots muddy so wear good hiking shoes or boots!

Amazing place for hike. Beautiful trails, which are not difficult. Some of them can be done in couple of hours. Some trails will take longer. Visited in December. It was not at all crowded. If you want to experience silence of nature - this is a great option.

Adventurous journey. Make sure you have a map on hand otherwise you will get lost on the way. Wear hiking boots then it’ll be easier to go through the trail. Be careful where you stepping due to others mention there is snake.

The leaves are down but the place is still beautiful, especially the portion far north called Great Ledge with beautiful view of the Saugatuck Reservoir. Very well maintained and well marked, easy to navigate with a map.

We were traveling from PA to Boston and we’re looking for a place to stop and stretch our legs. So glad we found this great preserve! We did a short hike around the pond. The trails were well maintained and well marked. Wear sturdy shoes…there are rocks and a lot of roots along the trail next to the water. Beautiful scenery!

I went on a hike here with my boyfriend and was happy to see all the trails available. Pets and bikes aren't allowed so it makes this park much less crowded. The trails are well marked and some are less maintained, so its a nice experience for people looking for a bit more of an adventurous hike. There is not a lot of parking in the lot on the south side, not sure if there is another lot however?

This was such an amazing experience! I took two candles, a few chalks a knife and a cat and the very first minutes I could already feel it was going to be a great night! I didn't had to look for a secluded place at all, I just walked for a bit and I was already lost. There are like a thousand trails and half of them looked pretty abandoned which was just perfect. You could feel the spirit of the thing! I quickly camped and drew a few stars on the ground just to practice. I thought I would have to fast for a day or two but there are a bunch of turtles there that taste really good! (And helped me with the cat, who needs a knife anyway? Those things bite hard!) Going back to civilization was easy, you just walk in a straight line for a few dozen miles and you will get somewhere. Great place, already recommended it to all my friends that are looking for some experiences. Definitely worthy of its name.

Well marked trails of various lengths maintained by the Nature Conservancy. It can get muddy in many areas after a heavy rain fall. Trails are open from sunrise to sunset. Trails are for hiking or cross country skiing. No bikes are allowed. No pets or horses are allowed. Note: Due to overpopulation of deer Devil’s Den Preserve to Close on certain Weekdays during Nov and Dec for Limited Deer Hunt so please check the website for exact dates.

Really liked this place. It's big and beautiful. There's easy trails and hard trails so it's a nice combination. This was our first time there and has become one of our favorite hiking places to go.

So, this place almost killed me . It was my first time here . I started on the trail , and got about 2 miles in . At that point , the trail markers completely stopped . I thought I just got off track , and it took me about an hour to get back on the trail and tried to continue again. Once again, no more trail markers , lost for over an hour in the woods . Had to walk through a stream . Eventually found someone's house where I walked down their driveway , to a main road where I walked about 2 miles down the road to my car . I really wanted to like this place , but at this point , I'm fighting whoever designed this place.

Amazing trails of various difficulties. This place provides calm walk through woods and passes through lake. Trails are well marked and maintained. Parking seems limited though. Definitely worth visiting again

Beautiful preserve with lots of trails and changing scenery, but go early as it gets very crowded. Got stuck behind a loud group who were out to socialize and not enjoy the scenery...at least they chose a nice location 😊

A nice park with maybe 10-12ish miles of trail, mostly flat and wide with some rolling terrain. Trails are a bit rocky/technical if you're not used to hiking, watch where you walk. A little boring if you're a hard core hiker, but still a nice walk in the woods. Went on a weekday, and like most places in CT, was accompanied by the blaring sounds of leaf blowers most of the way, so bring your headphones if you're looking for peace.

Nature deserves the five stars, one star off for no biking allowed! The few trails leading to reservoir are quite short, good for you youngish kids. More extensive trails available heading north along the water

Try the short 1.3 mile loop around the lake. There are a couple of steep inclines but not bad overall as far as difficulty. There is a hidden bench with an amazing view! It's right at the top of a small waterfall! Definitely bring bug spray! Lots of mosquitoes!

Very nice park. Beautiful trails and bridges by the river.

Nice spot for hiking. The views from the Great Ledge are worth the miles. Definitely a little wet under foot after rain compared to other nearby preserves!

Beautiful hiking trail with easy to moderate terrain. Lots of water features. Great place to hike during the spring and fall. Unfortunately, the bugs are too much during the summer, especially during rainy periods. If the bugs like you, best to apply copious amounts of deet before you go.
