I was a member of Lifetime when they first opened, and it was an amazing experience. Everything was clean, neat and organized. Over this past summer, I started going back to Lifetime in hopes of fall in love with the gym again. Needles to say, my expectations were not met. For a gym that charges as much as it did, you are expecting a level of professionalism and a clean gym. During the summer I noticed the gym become messy and dirty to the point that I felt the need to send an email. I do acknowledge management addressing the issue, however if you admit not having the staffing required to meet your expectations and giving your members what they deserve (clean gym), then you should lower your price. Take a look at the photos attached, and they will speak for themselves. When you look, ask yourself is that the level I expect for the amount of money I am charged. Again, I understand staffing is difficult in every business, however if you are aware of the issue and fail to improve a deficiency then why charging full price? I really wanted Lifetime to be the gym I loved when it first opened, but it continues to disappoint. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

They keep raising their monthly dues, they keep removing gym equipment, and the arrangement of the equipment makes no sense. The gym itself lacks a lot of the basics, and they changed their kids academy hours during the day, 8-12 and 4-8 where they used to be all day, and they no longer open at 4am Friday - Sunday. This isn’t the original lifetime that opened where the members came first and foremost and what makes sense for bringing a “luxury” health club to the area. Very disappointing. Corporate greed seems to be the direction they’re going over a strong business model that is customer service based. They’re saving $ where they can while charging more for less luxury and less amenities. I highly recommend the the GM get more equipment like Peabody has and rearrange the location of the machines. They have a leg press in front of a mirror and a squat rack against a window? The fly machines are way too close to the pull-up machine. They need a larger dumbbell area and more benches. There is a lot of wasted space. Who up the corporate ladder was hired to arrange the equipment like this? With as much money as this company brings in, they could do a whole lot better with what they offer in the gym. They made a large opening for people to walk to pickle ball and removed gym equipment months ago and never replaced it. This is a GYM first and foremost and should be the focus. The locker rooms are also not that clean, and the lockers themselves are filthy inside and the locks always get stuck even if you enter right combo. It’s not worth the price. As a “luxury” club that charges over $250/month they need to do BETTER Lots of frustrations with this gym.

Went as a guest. Nice place. Outdoor pool is huge. The watermelon slushy was great. Concierge staff greets you with a smile. Some classy banter. I like the experience here.

WORSE customer service. I've been told "NO" at every corner every time I ask for something by this gym. I've been a member since day 1 they opened (with some gaps in between) for myself, my spouse and my two sons at one point or another. I've never spent this much money with one company just to have them say no to me at every request. 1. gym was un-usable for 3 weeks on different areas, it was unclear everyday which part of the gym was not usable. the yoga studio? the floor? I asked for a 3-week extension on my membership. they said no. gave me a $50 "salon" credit instead - which basically buys you nothing at this place. the only thing a $50 credit would do is make me spend money. no thanks. 2. i briefly terminated my account for 40 days when I Decided to come back. it happened to be december so the price had gone up....again. it's now at $240/month. The price goes up every year at this place. I missed the "30 day" policy to renew accounts so had to pay the higher rate. I asked for an exception. they said NO. 3. My mother needs help so I had to travel for 4 weeks and needed my account paused. Apparently you need a 30 days notice. I asked for an exception. they want a medical letter - what a gross violation of privacy. They said NO. Needless to say, i'm on the hook for $240 this month. I went on here to write this review and saw how many 1-stars they have complaining about rude staff etc... I'm not surprised. I also noticed the owner only bothered to reply back to about 3 or 4 negative reviews. This level of unprofessionalism is indicative of how little they care for us members shelling out hundreds of dollars to the gym every month. I never expected this at a gym that looks like a resort. Very disappointed, and I'm sure no one will be calling or emailing me to try and make anything right. I'll be lucky if I get a canned response from the owner on this public review.

Life Time Fitness is stealing people's money. I went there 3 weeks ago to use a day pass for the outdoor pool. I was charged $50 dollar per person, which was okay with me. Then, today I went again on my girlfriend birthday and they were charging a $100 per person. I guess this stealing on my opinion. I called another Life Time fitness and they told me that they only charge $50 per person. Please someone should take a look onto this matter. I was also planning on joining the club and I guess they lost a customer forever. They are very rude and unprofessional as well, so please becareful when you go there.

I love it here. The staff is super friendly and always available to help, it truly has a community feeling. The facility is extremely clean and they do take their cleanliness seriously. Everything is spotless, and I tell everyone it is my safe haven. I love coming here and being a part of it.

I joined this gym around the beginning of August 2023. I quickly realized that despite the beautiful facility, the staff including the managers do not care about you. I paid for additional classes that were either canceled or just not scheduled. I reached out to management by phone to be told they are not available. I reached out directly by email explaining the problem . The manager asked if I would like to meet, but then asked me why after I told him in an email. I finally canceled my membership after a week. Today I received a bill for well over $300 for membership and classes. This is after I gave my 30 day notice explaining why I was canceling. This was a very frustrating experience. I would drive 30 minutes to this gym to find out the Pilates teacher canceled her class just because she felt there were not enough people in it . I would ask to speak to a manager at the front desk to be told “ma’am they are all busy”. I wasn’t going to write a review and just keep the bad experience to myself, but after receiving a bill after giving a 30 day notice is shocking. This review is my personal opinion based on my personal experience.

STAY AWAY this gym is overly crammed with people and kids running around unsupervised. Machines upstairs are never cleaned, lazy employees and mens locker room is FILTHY ! (you will actually never see them being cleaned only towels being picked up). Way to many of there own employees working out taking space, also standing around gossiping. Way way overpriced for what you get !. I have no idea how so many members can pay 200$ a month for this gym (as in there has to be some sort of deal discount for kids or students and employees free). Will be my last month and cancelling

Pros: Love the yoga instructor (Rhianne B). Cons: Dirty, Expensive, facility closures, unfriendly and lazy staff. It used to be a nice place to workout and enjoy yourself, now it turned to a stable without any rules. Advise to Management: Don't charge people full membership fees if you are going to close some your facilities, also hire competent team members to up keep the gym and not people that are only there for the free membership.

I was wondering why they don’t offer a day free pass before you sign up a contract. Public health department should visit the facility !!!specially the shower area , when you complain that you wanna leave you still have to pay for an extra month. Don’t listen to them if they verbally say that you’ll be fine if you are not happy we will help. No responds from managers when you email.

Lifetime was something completely new in 2018. Luxurious locker rooms. Towels provided. Equipment you never knew even existed. Whirlpools, steam rooms, and saunas. Now it’s 200$ on average per month. I am pretty sure there isn’t that many rich people in Westwood MA to pay that without providing something exceptional. Locker rooms basically a prime target for thieves. Case in point notices are posted don’t put items of value in your lockers. Whirlpools in the locker rooms are a giant wash machine for sweaty underwear. What does that mean. It means grown sweaty men jump in with their sweaty underwear. Whirlpool out in the public not locker room. A man with just boxers on decides to walk out with pool area full of kids. I tell him to leave or wear proper CLEAN wear. He leaves and complains to a cleaning staff that I told him to leave. Cleaning staff proceed to say he was covered so you can’t tell them to leave. I get it I don’t own lifetime but when you try to wash your underwear in public I draw the line. This place can be killed with any properly managed upscale facility.

I lost three swimming boards (Nike Collection), new two swimming suits, goggles, swimming hats, and speedo fins, slippers in the locker recently. I left messages and email, no reply so far, if your management read this, please contact me. Thank you!

Really nice club with friendly employees and above average facility. They do seem to have a staffing issues as of late as the cleanliness of the facilities went down a bit but when specific issues were communicated to the management, they are being addressed really fast. Its a really nice place to come with the family and their kids play area is outstanding! The staff is great with kids and is really helpful. Overall, well worth the money as there is nothing even close to this in the area, unless you are traveling to Chestnut Hill for Equinox but you cant beat the convenience of Life Time and its operating hours.

The pool is very nice but the lifeguards are wayyyy too strict! They yell at kids for the dumbest things. For example, my little sister couldn’t even sit on my knees without getting yelled at. Additionally, the showers and toilets smell really bad.

Been a member for many years. Same experience as some of the other reviews. Started out nice but they continue to hire people who care about being on their cell than the paying customer. The individuals working in the Cafe are rude and disrespectful. This Westwood facility is awful and poorly managed. Seems they go through GM's on a regular basis.

We have a vacation house in VT ( and enjoy lots of activities there) but we race back to our house in Brookline MA so we can go to our favorite ( Chestnut Hilll, Westwood or Framingham) Lifetime classes! That says it all!

Gym constantly under maintenance, something or the other is not working. I get preventive maintenance but simply closing out certain sections or even floors is just unacceptable for the premium that we pay as members. Hand towels are always out and steam smells like a urinal, sauna is full of chlorinated water. There is always something under construction in this gym with no regards to safety tools lying all over the cardio. Also, every other day you will probably get locked out even though you enter correct locker code.

You get what you pay for! Very good gym and for me, go to a gym where I can leave my kids playing while I’m working out it’s perfect! Kids Academy has the best managers ever. Ali and Francesca are always on top of everything to make sure our kids are safe and happy! I love them so much!!!

I love the pool! I used to bring kids there. But prices now are ridiculously snobby. $50 for 1 y.o. for a couple of hours in the pool?! Are you effing kidding me?! Someone has to change it! Like, adjust the price age appropriate and for a certain amount of time.

They got rid of one of the basketball courts but this is still the best fitness facility around. It’s clean and the employees are great.

To me, Lifetime Westwood is a slice of heaven. I have been a member since March 2022. It is large and beautiful with lots of space. I am able to do my own strength and conditioning workouts at the second and third floor levels. For people who want to workout with free weights and barbells, there are lots of opportunities to do so. There are also lots of machines and cardio equipment. People are friendly and even let me work into their space sometimes to get a rep in. To me, the locker rooms are very clean. I’m amazed how hard the cleaning staff work to keep the place clean. Every time I walk in and leave the gym, the staff at the desk are so warm and respectful. They seem to love what they do. Same for the trainers. I haven’t done any training sessions but I see them and the trainers seem to do an excellent job. I sometimes do the yoga classes and they are incredible with good instruction and planning. I did a pickle ball clinic a month ago and have started to play. The people who play are very friendly. The pools (indoor and outdoor) are wonderful for sport or relaxation. One day in early June a lifetime employee walked around the area in the outdoor pool offering people cool moist towels. I was surprised and very impressed. The steam room and sauna are great. People make space for others to sit if they are crowded (which doesn’t happen often). They even have a cafe with delicious healthy food and smoothies. Lastly, they did some events for Pride month in June, such as a pride dance event and a pride spin class. I was impressed with that, as well. It is an expensive gym (but about the same as smaller boutique gyms like CrossFit gyms). If one is looking for a great gym with lots of amenities and professional staff, go here.

I love this gym. It's expensive but it's always so clean, includes all classes, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, towel services... everything someone could want.
