Really nice place to eat and chill close to the beach. Great choice of food, fresh and innovative. They have many tasty vegan options. The green surrounding is soothing but the fact that people smoke every where is a big down point for me. Obviously not the Salty Swamis fault, but allowing smokers in such a nice atmosphere is maybe not the best move.

I visited twice over 2 days, for lunch and then for a coffee. Okay food, good service and a nice vibe, however the prices are ‘very’ on the higher end. Their WiFi is miserably slow (1-3mbps), therefore not reliable enough to hold a video call, and as such it’s not an option to catch up on some work or calls while you have coffee or a meal. Their Cafe Latte was tiny, and cost 1045 Rupees, which is about 30% more than the average cost in the area. There are better options in the area.

The avocado toast with mushrooms is great. The roots tacos are great too. The smoothie bowl always comes with some frozen parts (had it twice on two different days). The coffee is great. Though this place looks “modern”, they still don’t accept cards. They close too early. And there are not many power outlets though seems like a nice place to work remotely. The music is TOO loud. Tissues to dry your hands in the bathroom are the worst…… it’s easier to leave with wet hands than use these paper towels that stay on your hands after you use them (had to mention that because that’s irritating)

Best coffee and breakfast/lunch in Hikkaduwa by a long way. They’ve some figured out how to make their coffees taste great even though there’s no fresh milk on the island and their prawn tacos are off the charts. Staff are super friendly and accommodating as well and the decor and setting are great.

This place was oh soo wonderful!! The best beach vibe coffee shop I’ve ever seen!! Tons of seating, from the inside shop to the outdoor airy courtyard, to the plant-filled jungley tables in back, I loved every corner!! Espresso was great (although it was quite a bit of a wait) and the food looked delicious too. Definitely a must see in Hikkaduwa!

This place cares about sustainability and reducing plastic waste. We came back during the day to refill our plastic bottle with their filtered water to reduce our plastic waste. So there is nothing you can complain about. It includes a beautiful clothes and surfing stuff shop and i think that section is basically for the foreigners. Once you are inside the cafe, you can see that foreigners love this hidden cafe. I was very surprised to see my favourite type of cafe in this area. I will definitely drop by if I'm going down south again. And remember to visit there before 2 pm at least.

This place just gets it. The finest quality of food and coffee in the area. Highly recommend the grilled vegetables and fish. The staff is super chill too. Lots of seating available if you want to work on your laptop. Although at times it can get hectic busy.

Highly rated for a reason! Super chill vibe felt as soon as you enter, even though you could see some minor stress for a large party that was coming in. Polite service, relatively fast as well even though the place was very busy! Yogi burger was yum. But the real star was the fries. Holy ship...super seasoned with salt and pepper, just the perfect cook, AND and creamy garlic aioli as a dip! And lots of both on the plate! Now onto the healthy stuff- I got the swami bowl and it did not disappoint. Peanut sauce was sweet and super flavorful, the perfect sauce for the fresh cooked veg. Hummus and avocado smash just asked a creamy element and extra flavor. I crushed the bowl in under 6 minutes. Extremely filling. Will come back for their banana bread!

A cozy place with a cool and fun crew working there. We ordered the Yogi burger and the aioli sauce was amazing. The cold brew coffee is also our favorite. They dont serve alcohol. And they close at 4pm. So come here for a healthy lunch. One should also note that the place is indeed more expensive but worth a visit.

What a divine oasis tucked just off the beach. You can enter from beach and walk right through onto the road. The staff / owners look like they are having the best time, which just makes you smile! The music is brilliant and set just right, loud enough to feel in the vibe and still able to chat to your partner. The place is so beautifully laid out, the new concrete, wood and plant trend - super on point and makes you want to hang out for days! Filtered water as much as you want, even to fill personal bottles! And the coffee, oh the coffee - f'ing amazing!! On par with our independent London coffee spots. We had a tropical smoothie bowl which was delish. We cannot wait to go back for breakfast and lunch tomorrow (yes both meals, because we found this place too late and now we need to make the most of the meals we have left in Hikkaduwa)... We heard the prawn tacos are the best, they sure look outstanding ~ that'll be our lunch tomorrow for sure!

Lots of people here but there is plenty of seats. Inside seating is limitid though. They do many cool things to safe the envoriment, reducing plastic and serving water on tap. Filtered of course. The Swami Bowl is highly recommended! Roots burger was a little disappointing as it tasted a little like fish... The ice coffee was nothing special.. They don't accept credit card, and the food is a bit more expensive then other places.

This is the third day in a row I have visited Salty Swamis. It is outlandish delish, with the best iced coffees and steamed teas. The staff is super friendly, vibes are way cool, and the music soundtracks add to the hip! My husband and I split the eggplant tacos. Great spice and flavor complemented with a turmeric, coconut tea and steamed green tea.
